The daily life of the Dutchman
Classification of the day * Average we a wake at 7:18. * Offices start at 9.00, schools at half past eight. * Lunch is between 12.00 and 13.00. * Offices close at five o'clock. * We eat dinner around 18.00 o clock.
What do Dutch people eat? * We have breakfast generally with bread. With for example jam, cheese or peanut butter. * We have lunch also with bread. * Dinner generally with flesh, vegetables and potatoes, but sometimes also Mediterranean or Asian food.
The Holidays. * On Queensday it is the anniversary of the queen. People wear orange clothing and there are cheapgoods markets. * St. Nicolas is childerenfeast. St. Nicolas distributes presents with it s attendants. This is St. Nicolas. * Christmas: We celebrate the born of Jesus. There is a Christmastree in the house and dinner at family. * Anniversaries are different by family, generally, however, there are presents and a cake.

Friese skotse trije This is the Friese skotse trije. On the picture you can see how the Dutchmen dance on the Friese skotse trije. You can also see that they wear verry diffrent clothes. It looks like farmerclothing.
Jumpstyle * Jumpstyle is very popular right now in the Netherlands. Young people like this kind of dance the most. * Jumpstyle springs from house and hardcore of the beginning in the ninethies. * Now Jumpstyle has broken through once again. There are a lot of DJ s who Jumpstyle make Jumstyle, like DJ Porny, Jeckyll and Hyde,, DJ Coone,, DJ Pat B, DJ Vorwerk and DJ Dark-E. * The way to dance Jumpstyle is jumping around. You can jump in very diffrent styles. * The intension is that on every beat you have to make an other movement with your legs.

Korfball
Korfball * Korfball is a popular sport in The Netherlands. * Korfball was found by the Dutch teacher Nico Broekhuysen. * Korfball is based on the Swedish sport Ringbol. * Every Dutchmen knows what Korfball is. KNKV The KNKV is the Dutch korfball foundation, it was founded in 1903.
Rules of the Game * You play korfball in the summer on a field of 60 by 30 meters, or in the winter on a field of 40 by 20 meters. * Teams how play korfball exist of 4 women and 4 men * How to score? You have to throw the ball in the basket. * How to defend? You have to stop the ball with your hands, just like basketball. Only it s forbidden to pull you re opponent. * If you abuse the rules, the referee can give you a punishment. The opponent can get a free throw. * There are many rules, that s way korfball is a difficult sport.
Integration and problems Korfball is integration * Korfball clubs want more foreign members * The club house is a place, where foreign members of society can learn Dutch. * Some clubs give korfball training and also a Dutch language program. * Because of korfball Dutch people and foreign people have more respect for each other. Problems with korfball * Korfball is a old-fashion sport. That s why some people don t like this sport.
