Referee Contribution on the Field; (West Coast Sports Officials) Communication is important between a referee and coaches/players. The referee serves as an on-thefield coach, helping each player understand the game teaching them regulation on the field. Through words of encouragement and warning, referees are often able to prevent a penalty from occurring. The referee sets the tone for the game by gathering both teams and their coaches at midfield for a brief word of encouragement before play. This also serves as a time to remind players of the potential penalties that might occur throughout the game. CONDUCT: We ask each adult and child that no unsportsmanlike conduct be shown during practice and especially during the games. Coaches/Parents, please keep in mind why we re here: To expose the children to the game of football. To ensure that they have fun while they play. Please keep our fields clean and always use a trash can. We get to use the fields and we would hate to lose them. Coaches and team moms you are responsible in making sure that your fields are clean.
