There are no factions in our little corner of the ruined world. Survivors will be left to fend for themselves to create allies and enemies as they search the wastes for materials to rebuild society. Cleaners have been tasked by a shadowy upstart government to eliminate all survivors that may have been infected after the nuclear blasts. Their actual jurisdiction is unknown, and their established criteria for determining infection is even more mysterious. What Is Expected Of You Embrace the scenario. Not everything is armies of modern day warriors outfitted with the latest body armor and tactical gadgets. Life has exploded around you and you must pick up the pieces. Take what you can scavenge and defend your right to survive. Surviving The Wastes To survive in the expanding Wasteland everyone must somehow acquire access to water purification systems, contamination testing equipment, and repel the Cleaners as long as possible. Traditional government services and police forces have disappeared. There is no military or national guard. Personal stocks and surplus are all that remains to defend against the Cleaners, and other bands of survivors looking to raid your supplies.
Looking The Part As with any immersive event, getting into character is half the fun. Survivors are civilians that may or may not be infected from the nuclear blasts. Participants are encouraged to avoid operator style equipment and instead opt for a more Army-Navy surplus look. Optimal Survivor Look Avoid At All Costs Establishing Society Survivors have found themselves plunged into chaos and conflict. It is up to everyone to rebuild civilization as they see fit. There are no factions in our corner of the world. People will make and break alliances as they pursue their goals and objectives. To speed up the process, essential services must be created. Water Purification Systems and Contamination Identifiers are vital. Water Purification System Contamination Identifier Kit
The Cleaners The Cleaners are a roving group of men and women tasked with eliminating any Survivors that are infected. Their methods are brutal and unforgiving. Their arsenal is superior to what the Survivors have access to, and prolonged engagements should be avoided. Gameplay To create an apocalyptic world where supplies are in short demand, Wasteland:Mayhem will be a semi-auto fire mode event. Authentic replicas of LMG and SAW weapons will be permitted to fire in full auto bursts, but the use of machine guns should be avoided for Survivors. LMG and SAW rifles will be inspected and classed prior to the game. Midcap magazines are highly encouraged. Phridum s HiCap Rule will be in effect. Phridum s HiCap Rule To simulate the need to change magazines, hicap magazines CAN NOT be wound while inserted into a rifle. Players must eject the magazine to wind. Failure to do so, and being called out will result in the offending player being deemed hit and they must respawn. Objectives The objectives during Wasteland:Mayhem are very straight forward. Survivors must escape and repel the Cleaners and attempt to rebuild society by constructing simple machines. The components for the simple machines are scattered around the wastes, and must be recovered in full to create the machine. Machines and machine components can be looted by rival bands of Survivors. Cleaners will confiscate completed machines and hold them in the shadow government s lockup. Forming Alliances Alliances with fellow Survivors will be the only way to outlast the Cleaners. Once alliances have been formed, it is recommended that groups establish a base camp to build their machines and defend themselves from others. Players may use any materials they find or bring into the wastes with them. All items brought into the wastes must fit in a rucksack and be physically carried. Base camps are not safety areas and full eye protection must be worn at all times. Rival base camps can not be captured or destroyed by other players. Personal property inside a base camp can not be removed by anyone except the property owner. Respawning There are four (4) respawn points located around the wastes. These points can be used by any Survivor from any alliance. Players must respawn in a group of four (4) or more. If a group of four (4) can not be formed within 10 minutes, waiting players may respawn at they find themselves. If rival players are respawning at the same point, a parlay must be given. Groups will move in separate directions and allow a 60 second grace period before attempting to engage anyone.
Hit Rules, Bleedouts, and Looting BB hits to any part of the body, equipment, or weapon counts as a fatal hit. Ricochets count as a fatal hit as well. Once a player is hit, he or she must announce hit, get out of the line of fire, produce a red rag, and bleedout for a minimum of three (3) minutes. During the time, the hit player can not communicate with anyone. After the player has bled out, they can proceed to the closest respawn and re-enter the game. If a hit player is carrying a machine component, it must be dropped at the site of the fatal hit. The component can not be recovered by the dead player when they return to a respawn point. Looting Base Camps can be looted of their machines or any acquired machine components. Cleaners will only take completed machines from a base camp. Machines that have been confiscated by the Cleaners and held in lockup can not be recaptured. Cleaners will disassemble the machine and scatter the components back onto the wastes. Weapons Classes and FPS Any style of weapon is permitted at Wasteland:Mayhem, but players should strive to fit into the apocalyptic theme. LMGs and SAWs will be permitted on a limited basis. All rifles (AEG, GBB, or HPA) will be chronographed using Matrix.25g BBs. CO2 pistols will be chrono d. Whenever possible, players should transition to a pistol when inside any structure.
