Introduction What are we planning: A ski trip to a huge indoor snowdome in Limburg, Netherlands. Why: To celebrate the end of common entrance exams, learn to ski/ snowboard in a safe environment, challenge themselves in the climbing park, visit foreign cities, cheaper than a normal ski trip and relax and unwind in the warm weather. Where will they stay: In a four star hotel on site next to the slope. They will be sharing rooms in groups of three or four. What will they eat: Each student will have breakfast, lunch and dinner in the hotel. How much skiing will they do: They will have two / three hours ski lessons in the morning and afternoon on Saturday and Sunday. What else will they get up to: They will get to explore the surrounding countryside, swing, climb, crawl and jump around the high rise climbing park, and visit the cities of Bruges and Ghent. https://www.youtube.com/user/snowworld
Travel
City Visit - Bruges and Ghent On Friday we will visit Ghent to stretch our legs and experience its medieval majesty. We will then continue our journey to SnowWorld Landgraaf. On our return we will be stopping off in Bruges for a break and to sample its architectural beauty, winding waterways and rich historical heritage. We will stroll along the cobbled streets to Burg and Market Square to visit the Chapel of the Holy Blood and then find some chocolate shops for a snack.
SnowWorld Hotel**** Located in the countryside of Limburg, Netherlands. Four-star luxury hotel Three or four students per room in single beds. Breakfast, lunch and dinner provided inside the hotel or on the outdoor terrace. Foot and cycle paths through countryside.
Slopes Five slopes with eight ski lifts. Two practice slopes with a gentle gradient for beginners. Supervised access for advanced skiers/ snowboards to Funpark with lots of obstacles including down rails and kickers. We will only use the slopes whilst accompanied by an instructor. To keep the snow in perfect condition, the temperature is maintained at a constant -5 degrees Celsius. Therefore arm clothes, helmet and gloves must be worn on the slopes. Climbing Park To take a break from skiing the children will have the opportunity to access the climbing park on Monday morning. The climbing park boasts an Alpine Coaster, zip lines, adventure trail and adventure park. Itinerary Day Morning Afternoon Friday Depart after final exam at 11. Eurotunnel from Folkestone to Calais. Arrive in Ghent. Drive to SnowWorld for dinner. Settle into rooms Saturday Ski lesson. Clothes and Equipment Ski and snowboard hire included: Ski boots from Salomon, snowboard boots from Burton, carve skis from Völkl (Carve Tip Rocker) and snowboards from Burton (Twin V-Rocker). Additional equipment is available if you do not own it: helmet, full ski suit, gloves at an additional cost. Goggles are not needed. Bring sports clothes, warm clothes, casual clothes.
