New Mexico Council of Car Clubs Minutes: February 24, 2010 Meeting Meeting was called to order by Bob Agnew at 7:30 PM and the following club reps were present: Pat Logan-BAOA, Chuck Logan-Cougar Club, Rio Grande Mustangs, John Hayne-Model T Ford Club, Marty Otero-Classic Chevy Club, Carla Martinez-Classic Chevy Club, Les Martinez-Classic Chevy Club, Bernard and Marion Stevens-Classic Chevy Club, Lisa Bon Durant-Saabisti NM, David Pachak-Robie-Saabisti NM, Louie Paul-Rainbow Road Runners Club, Michael Maestas-Southwest F Body Assoc, Don Jones-AMCC, Roger Goldie-Atomic City Corvettes, Joe Cifaratta-VMCCA, Ron and Su Rymarz-Old Car Club, Ed McConnell-Roadrunner Convoy, David Huntoon-Corvairs NM, Dennis Seibert-Rickshaws, JD-RGMC, Jim Clements-Early Ford V-8, Joyce Clements-OCCA, Tom Willers-OCCA, Paul McLaughlin-Mustang Owners Club, Bob Agnew-CCCA. Bob Agnew opened the meeting by thanking all the people who have kept him and his wife Nancy in their prayers. Nancy's surgery was a success and she is doing well in her recovery. Guests: Tom Willers Old Car Club Marty Otero, Carla Martinez, Les Martinez Classic Chevy Club Club Activities: Road Runner Convoy Military Vehicle Association Group spoke about a Vietnam Veterans Day (March 29, 2010) and a Vietnam Veterans Parade on March 27, 2010 that will start at Bullhead Park on San Pedro SE and continue on to the New Mexico Veterans Memorial Park on Louisiana. Parade starts at 10:30 AM and participants are encouraged to show up at 9:00 AM. Classic Chevy Club spoke about a car show they are having on May 8, 2010. Atomic City Corvettes of Los Alamos will be having their "Tour of the Jemez Car Show" on June 11, 2010. Treasurers Report- Ron Rymarz reports that we have $7161.04 in bank deposits as of this date. On a side note we spoke about our new council storage unit and all the clubs that donated to this cause were thanked for their contributions. Old Business: By-Laws Changes and Dues For Member Clubs: These subjects were brought up at a prior meeting and Bob Agnew felt we don't need to change our By-Laws at this time and that we don't need to start charging member clubs yearly dues. Web Site Updates: David Pachak-Robie, Joyce Clements, John Doran, and Mike Maestas spoke about this subject. Joyce Clements says that since she is working on a number of other projects she would like to be relieved of her responsibility of updating the web site. Mike Maestas spoke about a content management system and word documents. John Doran spoke about having a friend who hosts web sites, and that friend would be willing to update our web site for $100 per year. And David Pachak-Robie of the Saabisti Club offered to host our web site, do design work, set up, and updates at no charge. Pat Logan made a motion that we accept David's offer, and this motion was passed. New Business: Jim Clements reports that the Albuquerque Museum is happy to work with us again on our Albuquerque Museum Car Show on May 16, 2010. It was estimated that between 8000-10,000 people attended this show last year.

Bob Agnew spoke about his "Spring Thaw" open house at Worldwide Automotive on April 17, 2010. Once again this event will be a fund raiser for Cuidando Los Ninos Day Care Center. Bill Lemen reported that Merrill Lynch might match our donations this year. Dennis Seibert reports that the Rickshaws Car Club raised over $9000.00 for the Ronald McDonald House Charities at the Supernationals Show this year. Marty Otero of the Classic Chevy Club spoke about their Wounded Warrior Car Show fund raiser at the Bosque Farms Arena on March 13, 2010. Bob Agnew spoke about the All Clubs Picnic which will be held at Nambe Falls this year. Overnight camping will be available for those interested and a charge of $5.00 per car will be assessed for the picnic itself. At this point the meeting was brought to a close. Paul G. McLaughlin Secretary WEB SITE The old web site is currently down, and David is working on the new one. You will be informed of progress. Thanks for your patience. - Joyce and David COUNCIL STORAGE UNIT The Storage Unit has been purchased. Contact Joyce if you have Council property that needs to be put in it. We will have more information at the meeting as to when we can start using the unit. The proposal from the Rainbow Roadrunners challenging clubs to help pay for the unit on a voluntary basis was huge success. They donated $100 toward the project, and promised to match any donations from other clubs, up to $300. So far, we have received money from the Rickshaws Car Club, the Zia Studebaker/Packard Club, the Old Car Club of Albuquerque, the Tumbleweed V8 Club, the Enchanted Corvairs, the Land of Enchantment GTOs, Cougar Club of NM, Rio Grande Mustangs, and the Veteran Motor Car Club. Our goal has been met. The Rainbow Roadrunners matched the funds, and we have $60 towards the purchase of shelves and a good lock. Thank you to all the member clubs who helped out. The unit should be in use this spring.
