Time Sheets Members are requested to book their starting times on the sheets provided and are requested to adhere to these times. Failure to do so may result in relegation to the rear of the field. You must be ready for play 10 minutes prior to your tee time. Ties In the case of a tie, the result will be decided on a countback with the exception of the Club Championships and all Club Medals (monthly medal). In these events the daily winners will be decided by countback. However all Club Medals will be decided in the following month s Medal, with the best nett score prevailing. If a tie still exists the normal countback will apply. In the Club Championships a tie will result in a 4 hole playoff (1, 10, 11 & 18). If still tied after the four hole playoff, the playoff will continue hole by hole and the winner determined by way of sudden death, utilising the same four holes in the following order (1,10,11,18). Countback The countback for 18 hole events will be: Last 9 holes; if still equal, last 6 holes; if still equal, last 3 holes; if still equal hole by hole from 18 th back. Protests Any protest in connection with any competition or match should be made in writing to the Secretary/Manager immediately on completion of a round and not voiced to members of Board directly. Such protest shall be dealt with by the Match & Greens Committee, whose decision shall be final. Competition Trophies & Vouchers The amount of trophies and value of vouchers will be relevant to the size of the field. The value will be determined by the Match & Greens Committee. Matchplay Events All finals should be refereed by a member of the Match & Greens Committee or their nominee. It is a player s responsibility to ensure matches are completed by the dates shown, and recording the result on the draw posted on the noticeboard. Competition Cards All cards must be completed, signed and scores entered into the computer. All cards are then to be placed in the designated locked card boxes within 15 minutes of the completion of the round. Practice Area There are two designated practice areas one next to the 18 th Tee and the other adjacent to the Greenkeepers workshop. Practice next to the 11 th on Competition days is forbidden for safety reasons. Hitting across the 11 th and 18 th fairways is strictly prohibited. During a practice round golfers are to play a maximum of two balls only on the course proper. General Members are reminded that complaints of any nature relating to the affairs of the club must be in writing and lodged with the Secretary/Manager, and not voiced directly to a member of the Board or Staff. Application of Handicaps for Stroke Events - Individual Stroke: Full Handicap Par: Full Handicap Stableford: Full Handicap Matchplay: Full difference of stroke handicap 11

Foursomes (including mixed stroke) Stroke: Half of aggregate stroke handicap Canadian Foursomes (including mixed stroke) Stroke: 3/8 of aggregate handicap American Foursomes (including mixed stroke) Stroke: 3/8 of aggregate stroke handicap. Women s Birdie and Chip-in Competition Points are awarded for each Birdie on all Saturday and Thursday club competition events. The person with the most points over the season will be declared the winner. Birdie Points: Handicaps A Grade = 1 point; B Grade = 2 points; C Grade = 3 points Any Birdie or Chip-in must be entered in the Ladies book on the day it occurs. The entry must be countersigned by the marker or a member of the Women s Committee. Women s Point Score Points are awarded for each player participating in any Saturday and Thursday club competition events. The person with the most points over the season will be declared the winner. Points: 3 points to all equal best scores 2 points to all equal second best scores 1 point to all remaining competition players 12

Pace of Play Policy It is common knowledge that a slow pace of play detracts from the enjoyment of the game. While players are not expected to run around the course, they should be aware that there are others on the course at the same time and therefore, should act with common sense and courtesy towards all other players. The purpose of this policy is to ensure the etiquette of golf is observed at all times and that all players are treated with courtesy and afforded the opportunity to maximum enjoyment from their game. While it is the role of the lowest marker in the group to monitor the etiquette of golf, including the pace of play, within the group it is the responsibility of all players to maintain their place in the field. The place in the field is immediately behind the group in front, not ahead of the group behind. Slow Pace of Play Defined For the purpose of this policy, slow pace of play is defined as loss of place in the field (ie. 10 minutes behind the group in front) and unable to close the gap within a reasonable time or failure to call the following group through. An automatic two stroke penalty will be imposed on each player in the group if a group loses two places in the field (ie. 20 minutes behind the group in front) and does not immediately close the gap by proceeding immediately to the next hole (where appropriate). Administration of the Pace of Play Policy The Pace of Play policy is administered by the Match & Greens (M&G) Committee. The M&G Committee may act on personal observation or complaints from members. Penalties for slow Pace of Play While it is not the intent of this policy to issue penalties for slow play it may be necessary to do so for repeated transgressions. As it is the responsibility of all players to monitor the pace of play, the general rule is for any action to be taken against the entire group and not the any individual. 1. 1 st instance - a verbal warning will be given to each member of the group. 2. 2 nd instance - a written warning will be given to each member of the group. 3. 3 rd instance - a two stroke penalty will be given to each member of the group. On issuing a two stroke penalty, a further letter may be sent to all members of the group warning that in the event of any further transgression, the M&G Committee reserves the right to take further action. Further actions may include, but not limited to, requiring individuals to play at the end of the field, being restricted to play outside competition times or being teamed with other playing partners. Reporting slow Pace of Play If you are held up during your round because a group in front fails to adhere to the Pace of Play Policy, you should report the group to a member of M&G Committee (see page 3 for M&G Committee members). Cart users should be particularly aware of the extra time taken in sharing a cart and look for ways to speed up play, for example, move ahead of walkers to look for possibly lost balls, try to position the cart for easy access when leaving the green to reduce the number of times that you have to get in and out. 13

At WFCC it should not take a group of 4 players more than 4 hours to play an 18-hole Stableford round. To assist in achieving this every time we play the following is expected to occur: 1. Be ready to play at least 10 minutes before your scheduled tee time. 2. Be ready to play your shot as soon as you are set up. 3. Play when ready even if it is not your turn to play provided you can do so safely (except in matchplay). 4. Allow short hitters to tee off first. 5. Putt out - unless you will be standing on another player's line. 6. Keep practice swings and pre-shot routines to a minimum. 7. Walk directly and at good pace to your ball. 8. Leave your golf bag/cart to the side nearest the next tee - not in front of a green. 9. Move off the green as soon as all players in the group have holed out. 10. Mark your score card on the next tee while others are teeing off. 11. Play a provisional ball if your ball may be lost or out of bounds. 12. Call the following group through if a clear hole is lost and the group behind is being delayed. 13. Call the following group through after 1 minute of searching for a ball if you intend to search for the ball until found i.e. another 4 minutes. 14. In Par, Stableford and Fourball events, pick up when you can no longer score on the hole. 15. Ensure that every player takes responsibility for their pace of play. 16. Be aware of your place in the field at all times! Note - To assist in the monitoring of the pace of play all players are required to record the time of tee off (first tee shot) and the time of finish (when walking off the final green) on place provided on the scorecard. DEFINITIONS OF SIREN 1. One Prolonged Blast of Siren = Discontinue Play Immediately 2. Three Short Blasts of Siren = Discontinue Play after finishing Hole 3. Two Short Blasts of Siren = Resume Play 14
