AMERICAN CANCER SOCIETY 2010 Cattle Barons Ball to benefit the American Cancer Society What: Fact Sheet It's getting to be that time of the year again! Brand your calendar for the 13th annual Cattle Barons' Ball, on March 6, 2010 at the Port of Tampa Cruise Terminal 6. Saddle up for a night to remember! Fantastic Grub, bellying up to the Saloon, two stepping, auctions and bodacious live entertainment, horse stampede, line dancing and much, much more! When: March 6, 2010 Grab your hat and dust off your boots, climb into your best western gear for the most enjoyable event this side of the Mississippi! It promises to bring you a "toe-tapping, knee-slapping, rip-roaring kick up your heels good time!" Where: Port of Tampa, Cruise Terminal 6 Why: In 1913, the five year survival rate was one in nine. In 1940, the survival rate grew to one in four. In the 1960 s, the cancer survival rate was up to one in three. Today, the cancer survival rate is 62% for all cancers. The American Cancer Society donates more money to cancer research that any other private, not for profit, nongovernment funder of cancer research in the United States. In 2009, ACS funded over 7 millions dollars in cancer research at Moffitt Cancer Center and USF. American Cancer Society has funded 42 Nobel Prize winners. With your donation, we can fund the 43rd. The American Cancer Society's Benjamin Mendick Hope Lodge is a short-term residential facility de signed to offer housing, counseling and referral services free of charge to any cancer patient who travels to the Tampa Bay area for treatment. This facility is fully funded by the American Cancer Society. Target Audience: Contact Us: Reaching Out to Cancer Kids (R.O.C.K.) Programs, includes R.O.C.K. Camp, R.O.C.K. families weekend, and college scholarships for kids with cancer. These programs are fully funded by the American Cancer Society. Help make a difference in these children s lives.
