REGULATION OF 5150 MARSEILLE Preamble The 5150 Marseille triathln is rganized under rules f French Triathln Federatin (FFTRI). Nevertheless, each triathln has its wn particularities. Cnsequently, this regulatin is specific t the 5051 Marseille Triathln. The athlete is respnsible t read fully the regulatin f the race and t spt the particularities f the 5051 Marseille Triathln. General 1. Each athlete undertakes t respect all the aspects f the regulatin. 2. In the case f ne pint missing, the rules f natinal bards where the race takes place shall apply. 3. Each athlete is respnsible fr his/her wn intermediate and end time registratin. The timing chip must be wrn thrughut the entire race arund the ankle. 4. In case f lss r malfunctining f the timing chip, the athlete is respnsible t get a new chip in the bike park. 5. Start numbers and race stickers may nt be reduced in size r altered AND must be visible at all times. Start numbers can be wrn n a race belt and the number must be secured t this belt at a minimum f three pints. The belt must be placed at the lwest level f the waist. Any ther psitin f the belt culd be an issue f cnfrmity in accrdance t the Stp and G prcedure. 6. The Check-In will nly take place n Sunday mrning frm 5.00 t 6.30 am. 7. The Check-Out will take place at the end f the race frm 11:00am t 2:00pm. 8. The cmpetitrs must take race prvisins nly at the designated aid statins prvided by the rganizers. 9. Frm Check-in t Check-ut nly athletes, fficials, dctrs, rescue and security staff, and accredited jurnalists are allwed t enter the bike park. 10. The athletes receive in their Race package :
One Bike sticker: must be COMPULSORY fixed n the seat pst f yur bike. One Tatt t stick n the swim cap and tw big tatts t stick n the left arm and calf. 11. Athletes must leave at their place nly bike and run equipment. 12. The rganizatin cannt be held respnsible fr lss f clthing r equipments f the athlete. 13. Material prizes which are nt cllected during the Awards Ceremny are frfeited. 14. The rganizers reserve the right t reject applicatins fr reasns imprtant t them. 15. Cmpetitrs disqualified because f evident fraud will nt be allwed t start in an IRONMAN race in Eurpe fr the fllwing tw years. 16. Cmpetitrs MUST respect rules and be respectful with marshals, vlunteers, spectatrs and rganizers during alng the race weekend, frm the registratin t the awards ceremny. 17. Cmpetitrs MUST respect ec-znes fr thrwing away their waste (any wastes in any case). Any cups, bttles, packaging waste and thers varius wastes thrwn utside ec-znes set up by the rganizatin are frbidden and punishable. 18. The athlete must REFUSE any utside help: supprt, supplies, technical assistance and material supprt by anyne utside f the race r anther cmpetitr. The athlete shuld nt let all r a part f his equipment utside the transitin area r fixed pints set up by the rganizatin. 5150 distances Swim curse: 1.5 Km; ne lp Bike curse: 40 Km ; ne lp Run Curse: 10 Km; 2 lps Start 1. The swim warm-up befre the start has t take place in frnt f the departure line between 6:15 am and 6:40 am. 2. Athletes have t respect the instructins f the marshals cncerning the set up and the start psitins. 3. Any break away start (early start) will lead t immediate disqualificatin.
Swim 1. If the swim part is nt pssible due t weather cnditins (thunder strm, etc.), the race will be cnducted as a Duathln (5km run / 40km bike / 5km run). The bike and run shall nt be altered. 2. It is permitted t swim in a wet-suit up t a water temperature 24 C. The wetsuit must be taken ff nly befre yur place in the bike park. The athlete him/herself must stre it. T avid the mixing up r lss f the wetsuit please write yur name n the wetsuit. The rganizatin cannt be held respnsible fr lss f the wetsuit f the athlete. 3. In case it is frbidden t swim in a wet-suit, the athletes may nly wear a swim suit with FINA certificatin. Wearing mre than ne swim suit is frbidden. 4. Artificial material helps like paddles, glves, bties, snrkel, fins, life jackets r ther fltatin materials are frbidden. 5. Official Swim caps issued by the rganizer MUST be wrn. 6. Only fficial bats and rescue bats are allwed n the race curse. 7. It is recmmended that athletes nt t wear their bibs during the swim. 8. It is nt allwed t take a shrt cut. 9. The athlete is nt allwed t give all r a part f his equipment t a third at the exit f the water. Transitins 1. The bike shes can be clipped nt the bike. 2. The athletes have t change f clthes nly befre their place in the bike park, and nt brrw the lcatin f his nearby cmpetitrs r impede the passage f the bikes. If the athlete des nt respect his lcatin, he can be punished. 3. Athletes have t fllw the sense f circulatin in the bike park. 4. The athletes have t push their bike t the bike park exit. Athletes are allwed t munt their bike nly after having left the bike park; until the line. 5. The athlete has t dismunt the bike befre he enters the bike park; until the line.
6. In the bike park, the athlete must still g by ft, bike in hand, and helmet n the head with the chinstrap clsed. Bike 1. Drafting is frbidden. 2. The athletes must ride mstly n the right f the right side f the rad at all times. 3. Athletes must respect the French Traffic Law and nt cut crners r the white lines. 4. The minimum distance between the bikes is 10 m, measuring frm the frnt wheel f the bike in frnt t the frnt wheel f the bike at the back. 5. A breach f this rule results in a black card and a penalty lap f 400m n the run part. 6. Wearing a sanctined hard shell helmet with the chinstrap clsed is cmpulsry n the entire bike curse. 7. Each athlete must wear his/her start number perfectly visibly (nt flded, nt cut) n their back. Any mdificatin f that start number is strictly frbidden. 8. Athletes are allwed t repair their bikes nly with their wn tls and replacement parts, there is n assistance area prvided by the rganizatin. 9. The frame-start number must be fixed in such a way n the bike that it can be seen frm bth sides. Sticker may nt be reduced in size r altered. 10. Blcking rule: The vertaken athlete has t fall back the drafting distance as sn as the vertaking athlete s frnt wheel passes him t respect the distance. 11. The athlete MUST respect wastes areas lcated 1 befre and 1 after each aid statin (ec-zne). Please respect this rule and cnsider that gels and bars papers are really plluting the nature. Yu can easily keep it with yu and thrw it when cming back t the transitin area. D nt respect this rule is punishable. 12. It is frbidden t race naked trs r with tri suit pened under the sternum. 13. The athlete must nt use camera, radi, cell phne, MP3 player, walkman r any ther audi equipment.
Run / Caching 1. Caching is defined as supprt f an athlete during the race by acclamatin r shuting encuragement. Caching is generally allwed with the fllwing restrictins: It is nt permitted t use electrnic r ther amplifying devices. All ther frms f caching where the supprting persn mves with r passes the athlete (via vehicle), between the athlete and the supprting persn. Caching is permitted nly frm the side f the curse, meaning the caching persn is nt allwed t be n the race curse and/r mving with the athlete. Athletes are nt allwed t accept accmpaniment r pace maker services by ft r vehicle. This als includes fllwing the athlete. Advice and infrmatin can be given by assistants nly n fixed pints. 2. It is frbidden t leave the run curse r take a shrt cut. 3. The start number must be perfectly visible and n the frnt f yur bdy. 4. One lapband ( chuchu ) will be distributed at the end f the 1st lp t prve that the athletes passed the 2 different lps; it s the athlete respnsibility t ensure he cllects the band himself. 5. Running withut a tp (singlet, shirt) is frbidden. 6. The athlete must nt use camera, radi, cell phne, MP3 player, walkman r any ther audi equipment. 7. The athlete MUST thrw his wastes in the ec-znes. D nt respect this rule is punishable. Finishline It is strictly frbidden t crss the Finishline with his/her child (children). D nt respect this rule is punishable f a red card = disqualificatin. Cut-ff times 1. Cutff fr the swim is 1hur. 2. Cutff time fr the swim + the bike is 3 hurs. 3. Cutff fr the ttal race is 4 hurs.
Anti-pllutin 1. The start f the swim n the beach must be taken bareft: sandals, flip-flps, etc are frbidden. 2. Thrwing away f any rubbish (papers, bttles, cups) utside f the dedicated ec znes is prhibited and will lead t a red card if the actin is dne intentinally and t a yellw card if the actin can be repaired. ATTENTION: The race marshals are instructed t punish any irregularity at nce Prcedure warning / time penalty 1. When an athlete receives a red r black card: If the athlete receives a black card, he must make a penalty lp n the run part. If the athlete receives a red card, he is directly disqualified. Receiving mre than tw black cards results in immediate disqualificatin. 2. It is in the athlete s wn respnsibility t make his penalty lp. If the athlete misses his penalty befre crssing the finish line, he will be disqualified. 3. If an athlete receives a time penalty n the run curse, the Stp & G-Rule will apply. This means the referee demands the athlete t cme t a cmplete stp, pints ut the vilatin f rules t him. The athlete may then cntinue the race. The marshalls decisins are final, n prtests will be admissible.
Official results The curt f arbitratin determines the final race results, subject t dping reprts still utstanding. The determined results are final. They are nt subject t appeal in a curt f law. SPECIFIC RULES FOR RELAY TEAMS 1. The rules fr the individuals and fr the Team Relay are identical. 2. The participants f the Relay Challenge must always give way t individual athletes.
