Junior Golf Code of Conduct The Junior Golf Code of Conduct is designed to preserve safety and well being for junior golfers and all members of the club. The Code prohibits the following activities: Throwing equipment Use of profane language Club equipment or property damage Littering Cheating Fighting Yelling or Screaming The use of a golf car during organized play The use of a cell phone while on club property Any other act unbecoming of a junior golfer A breach of the club dress code, as follows: Males: All shirts must have a collar or mock neck and be tucked in at all times. Hats, visors, and caps must be worn peak forward and are not permitted in the Clubhouse. Females: Traditional golf attire, jewel necklines, turtlenecks or mock turtlenecks are permitted. Slacks, shorts, skorts, culottes or Capri pants are acceptable and must be of an appropriate length. (Knee length is preferred) All Golfers: The following are considered inappropriate: short shorts, tennis, athletic or jogging shorts, cut-off slacks, denim of any kind, sweat pants, t-shirts, tank tops and halter tops. Only approved golf shoes with non-penetrating spikes or sneakers are permitted. Consequences & Enforcement 1 st Offense: The junior will be reprimanded and given a two stroke penalty if warranted during tournament play. 2 nd Offense: The junior will be suspended or disqualified from the current activity and ineligible to participate for 1 week from the breach of conduct. 3 rd Offense: The junior will be expelled from all junior activities for the remainder of the calendar year. 3

Junior-Family Kickoff Event Sunday, May 19 th Let the Craziness Begin! Day s Agenda 12:30 to 1:30 ~ Junior Golf Club Exchange All juniors can meet us on the range to get equipped with used/upgraded golf clubs for the year! We will be asking our entire membership to hand in old, used, outgrown junior golf clubs and equipment. We are hoping to have enough clubs to allow your children to have the proper equipment at no cost! 1:30 to 2:30 ~ Junior Tennis Clinic (Games & Prizes) All juniors will participate in a fun, fast paced and exciting group Tennis Clinic! This is also a great opportunity to meet our Tennis Professional, Matt Bilger. 3:00 ~ Junior-Family Golf Event Shotgun Start Parents and juniors should bring their clubs and be ready to play 9 holes of golf. Plan to arrive by 2:30 so that the staff can organize the teams and review the format for the day. This event is open to all parents and children ages 6-17. 5:30 ~ BBQ Dinner Buffet Chef Bryan and his staff will prepare a BBQ Buffet in the Overlook Room 6:00 ~ Program Overview Toward the end of Dinner, members from the Golf Staff, Tennis Staff, Pool Staff, and Junior Committee will be on hand to discuss all the great events that they have planned for this summer. After-School Junior Clinics May 21 st, 23 rd, 30 th and June 4 th, 6 th, 11 th 4:30 pm 5:30 pm These clinics are designed for both boys & girls who want to get started into golf earlier this year. Jump off that bus and jump into some golfing fun! All juniors will be broken up into age appropriate groups for the best learning environment. The fee for each clinic is $15 per junior. Each junior may bring one guest to the clinic. Please call the Golf Shop at (410)592-9404 to Sign-Up for the After-School Junior Clinics. Junior Boot Camp Tuesday, July 16 th Friday, July 19 th This multiple activity camp is targeted to entertain and instruct children 6 to 12 years of age. Activities include golf, tennis, swimming, and fun games. Boot Camp Schedule 8:00 am 3:00 pm 8:00 10:00 Golf Instruction 10:00 12:00 Tennis Instruction 12:00 1:00 Lunch 1:00 3:00 Swimming/Etc. Family Tee Program We have broken down the golf course into 3 different sets of junior tees based upon age and/or skill levels. Family Tee scorecards with the adjusted yardages will be available for juniors to use throughout the year, each time they play. As juniors play more, they will learn to navigate around their golf course. What are the benefits of this Program? The game of golf is very difficult and our goal is to make the game easier for our juniors to enhance their enjoyment. By playing a shorter course, they will have a more realistic chance at success. We hope as a long term benefit of this program we will build a strong core of future members that are passionate about the game of golf and its traditions. ~ Family Tee Divisions ~ Recommended Course Tee Marker Age Length Gold 13+ 5,104 Yellow 10-12 3,634 Green 6-9 2,022 Pick-Up Family Tee scorecards in the Golf Shop! 8

Future Champions Program ~ Junior Play Day ~ Saturdays ~ 2:00 pm 4:00 pm This program is designed to promote scheduled junior golf course access and begin to introduce a healthy competitive environment. Each Saturday will encompass different formats while learning a specific ability related to the game of golf. Four Core Elements The goal is to learn; not only about proper golf mechanics, but to also provide an environment that teaches additional life skills that relate to the game of golf. This program will incorporate 4 core elements that offer a phased approach to overall mental and physical youth development. 1) Sportsmanship, Rules and Etiquette 2) Fitness and Nutrition 3) Golf Skills 4) Near Golf Experiences Future Champions Dates Saturday, July 6 th Saturday, July 20 th Saturday, July 27 th Program Restrictions The Future Champions Program is available to juniors of 10 years and older that are able to play from the Yellow junior tees. Hillendale Junior Clinic Series Wednesdays and Fridays during the Summer 9:00 am -10:00 am These junior golf clinics will take place on Wednesday and Friday mornings from 9:00 am to 10:00 am. The juniors will be broken up into age and skill appropriate groups. Over the course of the golf season, the juniors will be taught a complete curriculum of golf including full swing, short game, course management, rules, etiquette and more! Many days will be spent on the golf course playing. Junior Golf Camps Session #1: June 18 th to June 21 st Session #2: August 6 th to August 9 th 9:00 am to 1:00 pm each day ~ Four Day Golf Camps ~ The Junior Golf Camps are held Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 9:00 am-1:00 pm. These camps are geared toward beginning and intermediate level juniors and staffed by our Golf Professionals. We will blend instruction, rules, etiquette, strategy, competition, and sportsmanship for a fun learning experience. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday will be filled with instruction and games with the juniors ending the day with lunch at the pool. On Friday, the camp will conclude with play on the golf course, a pizza party, and an awards ceremony! These camps offer a great opportunity for junior golfers to make lasting friendships while improving their ability and understanding of the game. And most of all have a blast! The Entry Fee for the Camps is $215 per Junior. (This fee includes all golf, instruction, favors, prizes and food for 4 days) Please call the Golf Shop at (410)592-9404 to Sign-Up. Each camp is limited to the first 42 juniors. Children and grandchildren of members (all membership categories) will be accommodated first, and then we will open the camp to guests. 11

Pro-Junior Scramble Sunday, June 23 rd ~ Tee Times 2:00 pm Cookout Lunch at 1:00 pm prior to Golf This event allows the juniors to play in fun, competitive environment with their Golf Professionals. Juniors will play a 6-hole team scramble with other juniors and a member of the professional staff. This event is a fun experience that is open to juniors ages 8 and above. Our goal is to introduce the juniors to a fun format under the supervision of the professional staff. This will also be a great opportunity for juniors to meet and play with other junior golfers. The tournament will be preceded by a lunch at 1:00 pm. The Entry Fee for the Pro-Junior is $20 per Junior (This fee includes golf, lunch and prizes) Please call the Golf Shop at (410)592-9404 to Sign-Up. Limited to the first 28 juniors. Family Classic Tournament Sunday, July 7 th ~ Tee Times 7:16am -1:00pm The Family Classic Tournament is open to all families, as long as one of the team members is a Hillendale Golf Member. There is an 18-Hole Division and 9-Hole Division. The format will be a Better Ball of Partners, which allows participation with multiple participants. There are Gross & Net prizes awarded in both divisions. Please call the Golf Shop at (410)592-9404 to reserve your Tee Time for the Family Classic Tournament. 12

Junior Big Break & Night Out Friday, July 26 th This will be a fun and eventful night. The Junior Big Break Challenge will include various fun contests designed after the popular television show. Afterwards we will watch an entertaining golf related movie and tear into pizza. Date: Friday, July 26 th Big Break Challenge: 5:30 7:30 pm Movie and Pizza: 7:30 9:30 pm Cost: $30 per junior Please call the Golf Shop at (410)592-9404 to Sign-Up. Limited to the first 30 juniors. PGA Junior Golf League! Dates: Schedule TBA Team: 10-12 Players Coaches: PGA Professional Staff Cost: $150 per junior PGA Junior Golf League is designed to better socialize the game for boys and girls, ages 13 and under. PGA Junior Golf league features team vs. team competitions in structured leagues that provide a popular, less stressful scramble format as opposed to stroke-play competition. This is a great way to get kids involved in the game! 13

Bill Clarke Junior Tournament Sunday, July 28 th The Hillendale Country Club Bill Clarke Junior Tournament will take place on Sunday, July 28 th with tee times starting at 12:30 pm for 18-Holers and tee times starting at 2:00 pm for 3, 6 & 9-Holers. This is a great opportunity for junior golfers of all skill levels to experience the joy of competition. Bill Clarke Junior Tournament Format and Rules Play is governed by the 2012-13 Rules of Golf as published by the United States Golf Association and by the posted Local Rules, Conditions and Definitions. Format: Individual Stroke Play with Divisions The Junior Club Champion will be the contestant in the 18- Hole Division returning the lowest official 18-hole stroke play total. Tees: 18-Hole Division Boys will play the Blue Tee Markers 9-Hole Division and 18-Hole Division Girls will play from the Gold Tee Markers 6-Hole Divisions will play from the Yellow Tee Markers in Fairway ( Family Tees) 3-Hole Divisions will play from the Green Tee Markers in Fairway ( Family Tees) Important Rule Caddies & Advice: Caddies are not permitted for use in this tournament. All Juniors must walk and carry their own bag with the possible exception of the 3-Hole Division Participants. Spectators are permitted; however, they are not permitted to offer or give advice to their junior. Advice is any counsel or suggestion that could influence a player in determining his play, the choice of a club or the method of making a stroke. Note: Information on the Rules, distance or matters of public information, such as the position of hazards or the flagstick on the putting green, is not advice. 15

Little Hillendalers Camps Session #1: July 23 rd to July 25 th Session #2: August 13 th to August 15 th This camp is a great opportunity for those beginners, ages 4-6, to be introduced to golf, tennis and swimming through professional instruction. The focus of the Little Hillendalers Camp is to show the kids how much fun all three activities can be while providing age appropriate instruction. The curriculum will cover the basic fundamentals with a 4:1 Student/Teacher ratio. Parents and/or Adults may be asked to help supervise to maintain a safe learning environment. Little Hillendalers Schedule 10:30 am 1:00 pm Daily Agenda 10:30-11:00 ~ Golf Clinic 11:15-11:45 ~ Tennis Clinic 12:00-12:30 ~ Swimming 12:30-1:00 ~ Lunch Camp Entry Fee is $90 per Junior (Includes all instruction, favors, prizes and food for 3 days) Please call the Golf Shop at (410)592-9404 to Sign-Up. 16

Family Championship & Junior Golf Closing Banquet Sunday, August 25 th We conclude our Junior Golf Season with a 9-Hole Scramble. All families are invited to play no matter their size or skill level. At the conclusion of play, we will head back to the Clubhouse for the Junior Golf Closing Banquet. There we will enjoy a wonderful buffet dinner prepared by our talented chefs. Junior Golfer Certification Junior golfers will be given the opportunity to become a Hillendale Country Club Certified Junior Golfer. All junior golfers under age 18 must be certified before they will be allowed to play on the golf course by themselves. To be certified, junior golfers must be able to demonstrate that they can consistently strike the golf ball in a manner that will allow them to keep a normal pace of play, as well as demonstrate their understanding of proper rules and etiquette. This certification process will allow juniors to: Use the practice facilities Play the golf course on their own (non-peak times only) The requirements to become certified are as follows: Age Requirement Juniors may first attempt the certification process when they are 12 years old unless earlier attempt is approved by the Head Golf Professional.
