016-17 OPERATIONAL REVIEW COMPETITIONS LEADING TO A PROVINCIAL EVENT Last Updated February 9 @ :30 pm Based on the Competition Committee Review document and conference call comments the Operational Team is prepared to present the following document for the 016-17 competition season. These changes will be reviewed annually to implement the suggestions that were presented from the CRC document. In reviewing the current competition streams the CRC review identified events that lead to a National and Events that lead to a Provincial. Both streams are important in the development of curlers both at the club and competition level. NATIONAL EVENTS PROVINCIAL EVENTS YOUTH U-18 * not National but projected to be Timbits U-1 U-15 U-18 Mixed U-1 Mixed Doubles ADULT Men s Tankard BW & FM Challenges Women s SToH Colts and Trophy Senior Intermediate <35 Master Senior Mixed Mixed Tankards (Two team event) Club Championship Stick Bonspiel Mixed Doubles Wheelchair In youth events leading to a Provincial the objective is to begin our younger curlers in the competitive stream while training and preparing them to advance and eventually represent Ontario at a National event. In adult events leading to a Provincial the objective is to continue or start an adult curler into the competitive stream in preparation of them advancing to one of the events leading to a National. These events also recognize the efforts of the club curler and rewards their achievements with a Provincial banner.
