Age: Age as at date of first day of dance extravaganza. Proof of age must be sent with your entry (only a copy is required). Age Groups: Babies Sections (4/u & 5/u), 6/u, 8/u, 10/u, 12/u, 14/u and 15/o. Championships Babies Championship 6/u Sub-Junior Championship 10/u Junior Championship - 12/u Senior Championship - 13/o Amateur: This dance extravaganza is open to amateurs only. Ballet: Pointe shoes must not be worn in age groups 11/u Committee: The Committee reserves the right to amend, refuse or cancel sections where insufficient entries are received. Sections will either be combined with open or older age groups at the discretion of the committee where insufficient entries are received. Competitors: Must be ready to compete in the section and order in which their name appears in the programme. No competitor will be allowed to dance more than once in any solo section. Competitors can repeat their dance after forgetting it at the discretion of the adjudicator. Competitors will not be transferred from one section to another if incorrectly entered on entry form unless an error is the fault of the committee. No competitor is allowed to dance in both restricted and open sections in the same category. No competitor may take another competitors place in the programme. Prompting (except babies) is not permitted at all and may result in disqualification. Competitors must enter and compete in their own age group only. Dress: No changing in the auditorium at anytime. Competitors are to change in the dressing rooms only. No competitor is permitted to wear tap shoes in the auditorium. Improvisations: Plain leotard or unitard only, no sequins or hologram materials, school logos etc.
Time limits: (including tags) Solos 3 minutes Song & Dance Solos 4 minutes Duo/Trio 4 minutes Troupes 5 minutes Anyone not adhering to these time limits will be disqualified Music: No tapes accepted. CD s must be correctly cued stating competitors name and amcos number. Only one song per CD is permitted. Protests: This is a no protest Dance Extravaganza, the adjudicator s decision is final. Refunds: Refunds will not be given after entry has been received. Props: Props may be placed on stage by a backstage helper or parent and need to be removed at the conclusion of the session. No glass or flammable material permitted. Modern: Expressive Lyrical, expressive movements with classical base. Contemporary Based on contemporary techniques, theme or structure. Sections: Open is for competitors who have placed first in a restricted section. Restricted is for competitors that have never won a first place in restricted in that particular section at any dance challenge or eisteddfod. Restricted sections cannot qualify competitors for championships. Championships: Babies Championship 2 dances required of different styles. To qualify you must enter and compete in any 6/u section or babies section (both dances may be repeated). Tap Championship 2 dances required, fast tap and slow tap. To qualify you must enter and compete in these two open sections (1 dance may be repeated). Jazz Championship 2 dances required, jazz and modern or contemporary. To qualify you must compete in these open sections (1 dance may be repeated). Classical Championship 2 dances required, classical and demi character. To qualify you must enter and compete in these open sections (1 dance may be repeated). National Championship 1 dance required, national character. To qualify you must enter and compete in this open section. Song and Dance Championship 2 dances required, song and soft shoe, song and tap. To qualify you must enter and compete in both these open sections (1 dance may be repeated). Scholarships: All scholarships are the Adjudicators choice of most promising dancer. Classical Scholarship one dance either classical, national or demi character. To qualify must dance in one of those sections (dance may be repeated). Tap Scholarship one dance either slow/straight tap, waltz tap or fast tap. To qualify must dance in one of those sections (dance may be repeated). Entertainment Scholarship one dance either jazz, modern, contemporary, song and soft shoe or song and tap. To qualify must dance in one of those sections (dance may be repeated). Troupes: Minimum amount of students in a troupe is 4. Troupe age is age as at 1 st January 2016.
Perpetual Trophies: These trophies are the Adjudicators choice: Most Promising Baby Debbie Watts Memorial Trophy Safety: No responsibility is taken for any injuries or lost property of anyone or their possessions present at the dance extravaganza and entry to the Just Dance Extravaganza is acknowledgement of acceptance of all rules and conditions. Smoking is NOT permitted in the grounds or on the school premises anywhere. Service Fee: This is compulsory for each family/studio and includes an emailed program and the following year s syllabus also emailed. Video: No personal videoing or photography is allowed in the hall at anytime, including the use of mobile phones. Unauthorised photography or video will see the competitor disqualified. Mobile phones must be switched of in the auditorium at all times. Program: If you have not received your program within two weeks of the extravaganza starting, it is YOUR responsibility to contact Just Dance Extravaganza.
