Notice of Race A double handed regatta for the Mini 6.5 Class boats from the Marina Real Juan Carlos I to El Garraf with stopover in Palma. Organized by Marina Valencia Sailing Club, Real Club Náutico de Palma and Club Nautic Garraf 1. RULES a. The regatta will be governed by the rules as defined in The Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS) 2013 2016, by the Prescriptions of the Real Federación Español de Vela and the Class Rules of the Classe Mini (Guide Mini 2015) Sections E, J, R and S. b. In the case of conflict between any of these rules, the Sailing Instructions shall prevail [alters rule 63.78]. c. The RRS 44.1 two turns penalty will apply. d. Official race language is English, and where there is a conflict in a race document English shall prevail. 2. ADVERTISING a. The event will be Category C under ISAF Advertising Code Regulation 20. 3. ELEGIBILITY a. The regatta is open to all boats of the Classe Mini (Series and Prototypes) that have previously been assigned a sail number by Classe Mini. Each boat shall hold a valid Class Measurement Certificate which shall be presented at the time of registration. b. Entries will be restricted to 30 boats. c. Entries open on 16 th March, 2015. d. Eligible boats may enter by completing the MVSC Race Entry Form on the event web site (www.miniair15.com), and sending it, together with the required fee, to the MVSC (see NOR 14.1) by Friday 22 nd May, 2015 e. The entry fee is 350.00 for entries before Friday 22 nd May, 2015, Late entries, if accepted, will be charged at 400.00. The entry fee should be paid into the Bankia, Valencia, account number IBAN ES64 2038 6161 17 3000092857, account in the name of Marina Valencia Sailing Club, and indicating on the transfer the name of the participant and AIR 2015.

MEASUREMENTS a. The Classe Mini will confirm that each boat fully complies with the current requirements of the Mini Class Rules (2015 Edition). b. This race is classified for E-15 (Safety Equipment) of the Classe Mini Rules (2015 Edition) as a C Level Race 6. INSTRUCTION a. Sailing Instructions will be available at least two weeks before the event. 7. LOCATION a. The regatta village, the boat measuring and repair facilities are located in Katabatic mini base at the Marina Real Juan Carlos I in Valencia. (Team New Zealand Americas Cup Base)
b. Access to the village from the airport is available via the Valencia Metro (underground) from the airport to the Maritim/Serreria station and by tram from there to the port. 8. COURSE a. The course will be as follows: i. Leg 1: start from close to the entrance to the Marina Real Juan Carlos I, leaving Ibiza island to port and finishing at the entrance of Palma harbour (approx 165NM) ii. Leg 2: start outside Palma harbour entrance, leaving the Cabrera archipelago and Mallorca to port and finishing at the entrance of Garraf harbour (approx 180NM) b. Notwithstanding the above, the Organizing Committee could shorten or modify the courses defined in 8.a due to adverse weather conditions or other reasons. 9. COMMUNICATIONS a. While racing a boat shall only make radio transmissions by VHF (channel 74) and must continually monitor VHF Ch 16. A boat may only receive public radio transmissions. No boat may carry on board any receivers allowing satellite communications, cell phone, satellite phone or laptop 10. PRIZES a. Prizes will be awarded to first three places overall for each class, and the AIR perpetual Trophy to the overall winner of both Series and Prototype. 11. DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY a. The skipper is responsible for ensuring that the boat is equipped and seaworthy so as to face extremes of weather; that the crew has the experience and fitness to withstand such weather; and that the safety equipment is properly maintained, stowed and in date and that the crew know how to use it. b. A crew is entirely responsible for its own safety, whether afloat or ashore, and nothing, whether in the Notice of Race or Sailing Instructions or anywhere else, reduces this responsibility. c. It is for a skipper to decide whether the boat is fit to sail in the conditions in which she will find herself. By launching, or going to sea, the crew confirms that the boat is fit for those conditions and he/she is competent to sail and compete in them. d. Nothing done by the organisers can reduce the responsibility of a boat nor will it make the organisers responsible for any loss, damage, death or personal injury, however it may have occurred, as a result of the boat taking part in the racing. The organisers encompass everyone helping to run the race and the event, and include the organising authority, the race committee, the race officer, patrol boats and berthing masters. e. The provision of patrol boats or mother ships does not relieve a crew of her responsibilities.
f. The fact that the race committee may conduct inspections of a boat does not reduce the responsibilities of the crew set out in clauses 11.a to 11.f. g. Every boat captain or in his defect, helm, shall necessarily sign the Liability Release document that indicates his acceptance of his responsibilities detailed in the section 11 of this NOR. 12. INSURANCE a. Each participating boat shall be insured during the event with valid third-party liability insurance with a minimum cover per event of 1,500,000. 13.
