WORLD ELITE PHILOSOPHY If it was just about cheerleading, you and your child could go anywhere. But it s so much more. World Elite Cheer is about shaping today s cheerleaders into tomorrow s leaders and having fun, building life-long rela onships in the process. Ask the young people who have been mentored by owners and coaches of the WE program and they ll tell you it is their life. Their friends, their coaches and their mentors are here. It s a family to them. Ask those who have been through the program and who have graduated, and they ll tell you it was life changing, life defining. World Elite Cheer coaches have led them along their own paths to success. World Elite is a company that will not only teach youth the fundamentals and advanced skills of athle cs, but also the fundamentals and advanced skills of life. Through recrea onal and compe ve athle c programs held year-round, World Elite will provide the perfect blend of team-building, social belonging, discipline, athle c training and performance that all add up to one thing: Achievement in the gym, and an edge in life. The world can use more cheerleaders. People who are op mis c, who see the possibili es, go for them and win for the team. The world can use more cheerleaders, boldly and collabora vely leading the way and encouraging others, always asking, How can I make a difference? The world needs World Elite All Stars. We are your child s biggest cheerleaders. The secret formula is Posi vity, Belief, Commitment, Perseverance, Community and F.A.T.E. These are the values we will teach at World Elite. Not in a classroom, but in the gym where young people face their fears and conquer them. Where kids decide their dreams, and do whatever it takes to make them come true. Where our coaches and leaders guide, train, encourage, counsel and shape tomorrow s leaders. From recrea onal to high-level compe ve programs, World Elite has a spot for everyone s skill level, performance level and comfort level. Then we will take them beyond, in a caring way, that builds confidence and helps children know they are valued in the group, on the team. Nothing replaces that kind of social belonging. It happens here, o en for life. Friendships are forever at World Elite. Youth today have many distrac ons, many choices and many miles to go on their lives journeys. Give them fitness physically, strength emo onally, belief, courage, and a place where accomplishment is real. Give them World Elite. 5

MANDATORY ALL-STAR TUMBLING TECHNIQUE & GROWTH Every All-Star athlete will have tumbling built into their prac ce schedule. This me was designed for each team/athlete to work with a tumbling coach who specializes in teaching tumbling skills, synchronizing group passes & cleaning technique on the standing tumbling, running tumbling & jumps. Skills choreographed into the rou ne will be perfected during these mes. Athletes will also be given the opportunity to work on new skills for the future. Each week, there will be a different focus to help the team s success along with each individual athlete reach their goals. These tumbling sessions are required of all athletes and will take place during your scheduled prac ce me given at the beginning of the season. 6

CHEER AROUND THE WORLD 2017-2018 World Elite Summer Boot Camps The second week of our season, the en re World Elite Cheer program will come together for our annual TECHNIQUE AND TEAMWORK camp. This camp is designed to start the season off strong by: Iden fying how to execute the "World Elite Way" Demonstra ng and drilling technique of all star cheer skills Jump star ng our WE Lead Leadership Modules Having fun ac vi es for both teams and the en re program Establishing solid stunt groups Establish team strengths and order of rou ne Create a founda on of strength and condi oning 7

ALL-STAR COACHES TEAMS Head, Assistant, and Specialist Coaches New this season, all teams will have head coaches, assistant coaches and specialty coaches. The idea sparked from high school football teams with their large coaching staff suppor ng on the sides of the field during the game, each responsibility for a different aspect of the game. Our teams will thrive from having coaches with more inten onality throughout their season. Taking into account the dimensions of the score-sheet, specialty coaches will be focusing in the areas of tumbling, flying and rou ne development. 8

ATHLETE PROMISE 9

Parent Promise PARENT PROMISE 10

COACHES PROMISE 11

ATHLETE ATTENDANCE Competitive cheerleading is the epitome of a team sport. Attendance and promptness is expected in the World Elite Cheer program. We want you, your athlete(s), their teammates, and our families to get the full benefit of our program. Allstar Cheerleading requires commitment, loyalty and accountability from our families, staff and athletes. Our team practice and competition schedule is provided at the beginning of the season so that athletes and their families can set their schedules for the entire year. All competitive teams at World Elite Cheer practice two, and sometimes three, times a week. All athletes are expected to be at EVERY scheduled practice. Once competition season arrives, the coaches occasionally call extra practices as necessary. When possible, extra practices will be scheduled at least a week in advance and must be attended by all team members. This commitment to practice attendance becomes increasingly more important during competition season (September through April) and is especially important the week of a competition. Athletes who miss the week of a competition may risk removal from competitions or removal from the program. If your athlete is involved in multiple other sports where coaches are unable to work around the competitive cheer schedule, competitive cheer may not be for you. World Elite and our athletes are committed to having the best teams and that requires 100% attendance. If one person does not attend practice the whole team is unable to practice. Not attending practice is a waste of time and money and is disrespectful to other team members, their families and coaches. ITS ALL ABOUT E 12

Absences: World Elite understands that from me to me a missed prac ce is inevitable; however, these excusable absences need to be kept to a minimum. Further, athlete s missing prac ces for inexcusable reasons may risk placement on a commitment contact, removal from compe ons, or removal from the program. Please do not use withholding your athlete from prac ce as a form of discipline. Absence Procedures and Subs tu on Forms: Please take the following steps: No fy World Elite, by email, of all planned and expected absences. Please do not call your child off through Facebook groups, Facebook messenger, or tex ng coaches. Please do so at least a week ahead of me. Fill out a Subs tu on Form and find a comparable subs tute. No fy World Elite, by phone, of any unplanned absences that arise within 24 hours of your scheduled prac ce me. This should be communicated at least ONE HOUR prior to the start of prac ce. Fill out a Subs tu on Form and provide a comparable subs tu on for all absences. All absences without a subs tute will be considered TWO unexcused absences and result in a fine. Subs tu ons are only available during preseason months (June-September). Only under the excused absences listed below may a subs tu on be used in the months of October through April. Subs tu on Forms can be found at our front desk or on our website. Excusable Absences/Late Arrivals/Early Dismissals: Severe Illness: This is reserved for athletes who may be contagious or are ac vely ill. Athletes with a cold or mild symptoms are s ll expected to a end prac ce (the coaches will limit ac vity accordingly). A physician's note is required if an athlete misses due to illness during the week of a compe on OR when an athlete will miss two or more consecu ve prac ces. Graded School Ac vi es: Any EVENT that is included in an athlete s class grade when no other alterna ve for receiving equal points is available. This does NOT include staying home to study, finish a project, a end a study group, etc. This is ONLY for planned EVENTS that result in a class grade. Religious: This would include any event rela ng to the athlete s religion or the athlete s immediate family s religion (Ex. Weddings, Bat/Bar Mitzvahs, First Communions, etc.). Note: A religious event that pertains to someone outside of the athlete s immediate family is considered an unexcused absence. Bereavement Days: Any absence rela ng to the death of a friend/family member. Summer Months ONLY: Family vaca ons and Summer Camps are considered excusable for summer prac ces only. These dates need to be communicated upon making the team. These considera ons do not apply during Team Choreography dates. The above absences must be reported to the front desk by phone at least ONE HOUR prior to the start of the scheduled prac ce. Our coaching staff spends significant me preparing and planning for prac ces, please respect that 13

ATTENDANCE POLICY CONTINUED Compe ons: EVERY team member must a end EVERY compe on. There are NO excused absences from a compe on. Any athlete that misses a compe on may be removed from the program. In rare instances, some teams may be required to compete on a Friday a ernoon/evening which may require some missed school me. Choreography: Choreography for the 2017-2018 season will take place on various dates through the Summer and is mandatory for all athletes. If you miss a choreography camp it will be detrimental to your athlete s spot in the rou ne. Choreography dates are given at the me of Team Placement, but we recommend that families take their vaca ons in June and early July if possible to avoid missing. If a missed choreography date is unavoidable, the athlete/family is responsible finding a replacement to fill in their spot. Commitment Contracts: World Elite Cheer may u lize a Commitment Contract with an athlete and their family, when the athlete is in or nearing viola on of our a endance policies. Commitment Contracts are an addi onal step and effort of the program, to communicate clearly with our families. Injury Absences: All injuries are to be reported to the gym as soon as possible. All injured athletes are s ll required to a end prac ce and related ac vi es to the extent possible. It is usually possible to work around injuries and turn a weakness into strength, by increased condi oning for flexibility, strength or specific skills. Please provide a doctor s note when returning from an injury. 14
