TUKAN KANGAR 750 / 1500 / 3000 PRDUCT RANGE

THE TUKAN KANGAR: PRDUCT RANGE. PRDUCT RANGE Cranes of the TUKAN KANGAR series are special cranes for high-performance handling of bulk goods with all types of grab, but may also be used for general cargo handling with load hooks and special load attachment equipment such as e.g. coil tongs, as well as for container handling by means of spreaders. Typical of the Tukan Kangaroo crane design is the large-diameter tubular column and large roller bearing used for the slew bearing, as well as the integrated bunker with transfer stations and all the necessary equipment for onward conveying of the goods. Hook traverse Load magnet Load attachment equipment (examples) 4-rope multisection grab Telescopic spreader 2-section motor-driven grab Grab slewing device The Tukan Kangaroo from Ardelt unloading a ship Page 2

THE TUKAN KANGAR: PRDUCT RANGE. Tukan Kangaroo 750 The Tukan Kangaroo 750 is designed chiefly for the handling of goods in inland ports. With an outreach of 27 m, and with the normal gantry gauge of 8.5 m and a distance of approx. 3.0 m between waterside rail and fender, it is capable of loading and unloading without problem all ships up to Category V that operate on inland waterways. It is also possible to serve seagoing vessels as well as bulk carriers up to 16,000 dwt in an efficient manner. Tukan Kangaroo 1500 The Tukan Kangaroo 1500 is a crane built for sea ports. It is equipped with jib systems that allow a max. outreach of 35, 40, or 45 m to be attained. With this, its application range for bulk goods ships of the Handysize extends up to Handymax Class (in the 35 m variants) and up to ships of Post Panama Class (with the 45 m system). Grande Tukan Kangaroo 3000 The Grande Tukan 3000, which represents the largest version of the series, is offered with jib systems that provide max. outreaches of 50 and 55 m. With assumed nominal gantry gauges of 15 m and 18 m, this provides effective outreaches over fender of 34.0 and 37.5 m. In bulk goods operation, this allows ships up to Capesize class (47 m wide) to be served, as well as Japanmax special ships (50 m wide). All cranes of the Tukan Kangaroo series are distinguished by their environmentally-friendly concept and very low operating costs. Page 3

Because the slew bearing is secured with Superbolt fasteners, this prevents any uncontrolled loads from being imposed on the bolts. Slewing gear Page 15

DRIVES N THE TUKAN KANGAR SERIES: TRAVELLING GEAR. The travelling gear units are individually configured to meet the technical requirements (wheel loads, track loads, corner loads, rail type, etc.) using the modular construction system. Preferably, the centre drive system is used with running wheel size D. 630 mm. Individual wheel drives and larger running wheels are also available, if required. 8-wheel standard travelling gear FW 630; versions with centre drive or direct drive are available. 12-wheel standard travelling gear FW 630; versions with centre drive or direct drive are available.
