Format & Play Two man teams of Father & Son play a total of 54 holes in a best ball Stableford & Scotch Foursomes format. Wednesday 9th Practice Round All Day Tournament Information Registration All competitors are required to register in person with the Golf Team before 6pm on Wednesday 9th August. The Golf Desk, Hospitality and Tournament staff will be located in the Tournament Marquee at Waterville Golf Links. Handicaps Players must present proof of official handicap. Players must check-in in person at the golf desk to verify authenticity. Handicap information must also be provided in advance. US Players must give their GHIN number which will be verified through GHIN. US Handicaps will be adjusted to reflect the Waterville slope rating. Irish Players must produce GUI Card on arrival, which will be verified through GUI. International Players must produce their golf club letter and the relevant union / federation credentials. Carr Golf will confirm membership status and handicaps with golf clubs. Handicaps will be confirmed before the start of play and the committee will adjust handicaps based on a team s past performance over three years. The Tournament operates on ¾ of the handicap system. The maximum handicap is 24, thus maximum number of shots any player is entitled to is 18. On Friday when the format is Scotch Foursomes, 50% of the combined handicaps will be the calculation for scoring. Thursday 10th Friday 11th Saturday 12th Flights Best Ball Stableford format (best individual score per hole counts towards the team score) Scotch Foursomes Stableford format (Both players drive & play alternative shot off chosen drive) Best Ball Stableford format (best individual score per hole counts towards the team score) There are four Flights in the event; the Gross Flight, Net Flight, Adopted Flight and Plate Flight. The Gross Flight is for the best Gross Score over three days. The Net Flight (Championship Flight) is for the 28th World Invitational Father & Son Trophy, JB Carr s Irish Amateur Trophy. After 36 holes there will be a cut where the top 16 teams and ties or teams within 10 points of lead qualify to play in the Final. Remaining teams play in a one day Plate Flight using the better ball format. There is also an Adopted Flight for non-father & Son teams and this is contested on a Net Basis. Flight Leaders will tee off at the same time on the same tee on the Final Day. Prizes Prize giving takes place in the Sea Lodge during dinner on Saturday. Prizes will be awarded to the following winners. Pace of Play Dedicated rangers will ensure groups are keeping up with the pace of play. They will be strict on slow play. Please co-operate with the rangers. Caddies & Carts Caddies are available on a best efforts basis. Caddies are limited in numbers and are not employed by the club or Carr Golf. Caddies are recommended at 60 per bag and a minimum of 10 tip per bag, per day. We strongly urge you to make sure your caddy requests are sent in prior to the event. Waterville Golf Links has 25 Golf Carts which should be reserved in advance. Carts cost 50 per round, can be reserved via Carr Golf and paid for at Waterville Golf Links reception. Locker Room Locker Room facilities are available within the Clubhouse throughout the tournament. The Locker Room will be open at least 30 minutes prior to the Practice Range opening on each day. Each team will be assigned locker space throughout play, identifiable by name plaques. Some teams will be required to share lockers. Scoring VPAR will provide Championship scoring. Live scores will be available on mobile devices, TVs and online at carrgolf.com. The Scoring Desk will be located in the marquee. Each Group (two teams) will be issued with a VPAR Device with a designated Scorer in the Group update the device after each hole. A demonstration will be offered on the first tee each day. Ties In the event of a tie in the Championship, a best ball sudden death playoff will take place on the 18th Hole. The tied teams will play the 18th hole until the winner is decided. Leaderboard Leaderboards will be automatically updated by the system and there will be screens located in the main marquee and in the clubhouse. Leaderboards are also accessible through the Carr Golf Travel website www.carrgolf.com. Sky Caddie Each Team will be issued a Distance Measurement Device, provided by SkyCaddie. These devices are permitted for use in the event. Drawsheet Drawsheets and daily leaderboards will be printed at the end of each day and distributed across hotels, restaurants and by email. 1st & 10th Tee Tournament tees, markers, pitch mark repairers and pencils will be provided on both tees for the duration, as will water, fruit and chocolate. No stopping is permitted when making the turn. The tournament will operate a Two Tee Start System.
