FoBPS CONTACT DETAILS: FoBPS Newsletter Twitter or Facebook, then please email andrea.kechiche@hotmail.co.uk and we will arrange to give you either printed versions or a JPEG version. June 2017 Andrea Kechiche, Chair (E) andrea.kechiche@hotmail.co.uk Hello Everyone Hopefully you have all seen that FOBPs has donated money towards Sports Week and we have also bought a school sailflag that will be used at future external sports events. I think you will agree it s a great addition to the school. Lets hope this glorious weather stays around for the next few weeks and we have a dry day for the Summer Fair! More details about the Fair can be found below. If you want to get in touch about the Fair or anything else, please feel free to email me at the address above. Thanks. Summer fair, SUNDAY 2 nd July (12-3PM) As in the previous newsletter we have lots of attractions available on the day and hope that you will attend! Sinclair Hammelton are judging the Design a Summer Fair and we will be announcing winners shortly. Help us to advertise the summer fair There are some A3 and A4 size poster in the office that can be advertised, and we will be looking to display these in local shops, businesses and clubs. If you are able to help distribute these and / or can promote the Fair on your company website, intranet, Raffle Tickets Please see end of newsletter for some of the great prizes we have this year! Raffle tickets went out in book bags just before half term. All unsold tickets will be sold during the Fair, so it is extremely important that we receive these back at your earliest convenience (closing date is 29 th June). Please ensure that you only return complete books (with completed counterfoils) via the Green FoBPS box in the office. For those who require more tickets, please take from the bundle in the office. If you would like to donate a prize for the raffle, please email Andrea. SILENT AUCTION: If you are interested in bidding for the signed Chelsea Football, slips are in the office. Bids started at 50. The winner will be announced at the Fair on the 2 nd July. Own clothes day in aid of the Tombola Children are invited to come to school on Friday 30 th June in own clothes (non-school uniform) in aid of the Summer Fair and the Tombola. Instead of paying the usual 1 charity donation, please bring either a bottle or chocolates! Class Reps will be on hand near the office to collect your very generous donations, which will be used during the Summer Fair on this very popular stall. Please note that due to the fact that the own clothes day is so close to the Fair, we are unable to accept late donations. Please therefore ensure that items are brought in on the morning of the 30th thank you! Jolly Jam Jars Due to the popularity of the Jolly Jam Jar lucky dip at previous Fairs and the amazing amounts raised, we have decided to do it again at the Summer Fair. We would like every pupil to fill a jam jar (or equivalent - in advance of the Fair) with small items that the children will want to win i.e. chocolate, sweets, pocket money toys and so on. These donated jars will then be ticketed and displayed on 1 P a g e

a stall near the regular Tombola and children will have the chance of winning them. 1) Use any size jar, making sure its clean and the labels have been taken off. 2) Try to make your jar appeal to either a girl or a boy. Fill your jar with small items that you think children would like to win, like the above list anything that fits in the jar. 3) Decorate your jar to a summer theme i.e. with stickers, ribbons, glitter, and so on. 4) Hand these in to FoBPS on the morning of Friday 23 June Class Reps will be on hand near the office to collect your very generous donations. We re also going to ask the teachers for a Teacher s JJJ, and will give a prize to the best teacher JJJ, so lets make them as jolly as possible! PLEASE REMEMBER TO PUT YOUR NAME ON THE BOTTOM OF THE JAR. Bake us a cake We really need people to bake cakes or biscuits for the Summer Fair for selling on the refreshment stall. If you are able to help, please bring along your yummy treats on the day of the Fair and hand in to the lovely ladies manning the stall. If you would like your container back, please ensure that it is labelled with your child s name and class and we will arrange to get it back to you on the Monday after the Fair. Class Stalls Class representatives will soon be canvassing in the playground to gain help for your class stall your help in giving an hour of your time, will ensure that we are able to run the stall and also stops the same parent(s) manning it all day so please volunteer.
