Match length: 2 minutes for Juniors 8 years old and under. 3 minutes for Juniors 9 years old and up; 4 minutes for Seniors & Masters. Modified IJF Rules. Chokes allowed for ages 13 and up. Armlocks allowed in all Senior and Master divisions. Golden Score will apply. Tournament Director reserves the right to adjust divisions, and match times to ensure fair and safe competition. 1 st, 2 nd and 3 rd place Medals for Juniors and Seniors.

COMPETITION DIVISIONS JUNIORS Novice divisions include white, yellow and orange belts. Advanced divisions include green belt and above. Divisions will be Light, Medium and Heavy as appropriate. Note: Because of changes to the rules by the IJF and USA Judo all Coaches and Instructors are encouraged to attend both the Friday night referee s clinic (6:00 PM to 8:00 PM) as well as the Saturday referee s meeting (10:30 AM to 11:00 AM). All players, instructors and Coaches will be expected to know and understand the new rules that are now in effect. It is the instructor s and coach s responsibility to be sure their students / players are aware of the current rules. 2011 is an Election year for JMI. All Offices are up for election. We will be picking 2 player representatives at the end of the Tournament on Saturday May 14 th, 2011 All Minnesota USA Judo (USJI) members over 18 years old may vote. Officers will be elected on Tuesday May 17 th, 2011 at 7:00 Election will take plays at Midway Judo Club, 1068 Robert St. W. Each voting club must have at least 5 current registered USA Judo members; you get 1 additional vote for each additional 5 current registered USA Judo members you have. Minnesota State Open Judo Championship Saturday May 14, 2011 WAIVER AND RELEASE OF LIABILITY AND AGREEMENT TO PARTICIPATE In consideration of being permitted to participate in any way, including travel to and from, in any Judo tournament, practice, clinic and related events and activities of the United States Judo, Inc., United States Judo Federation, United States Judo Association, Judo Minnesota Inc. (JMI) and Eagan Civic Arena, I hereby: 1. Acknowledge that I am familiar with the sport of Judo and understand the rules governing the sport of Judo and the importance of following these rules. 2. Agree that prior to participating, I will inspect the mats, equipment, facilities, competition pools or divisions, and the elimination or scoring system to be used, and if I believe anything is unsafe or beyond my capability, I will immediately advise my coach or supervisor of such condition(s) and refuse to participate. 3. Acknowledge and fully understand that I will be engaging in a contact sport that might result in serious injury, including permanent disability or death, and severe social and economic losses due to not only my own actions, inactions or negligence, but also to the action, inaction or negligence of others, the rules of the sport of Judo, or conditions of the premises or of any equipment used. Further, I acknowledge that there may be other risks not known to me or not reasonably foreseeable at this time. 4.
