SCORE International is an organization recognized worldwide for producing world class desert racing events and will bring the excitement of off road racing to our valley. Organizing this event has been a collaboration between local community business owners and El Centro Chamber of Commerce now known collectively as the Imperial Valley SCORE committee. Our goal is to make this a signature event that will attract spectators from areas like San Diego, Phoenix, Los Angeles, Orange County, San Bernardino County, and the border cities in Mexico. ABOUT THE SCORE OFF ROAD RACING SERIES The Score legacy began four decades ago in the vast wasteland of Baja and the arid deserts of California and Nevada. Today, as it celebrates its 48th year, it continues with a new generation of drivers, equipment and enthusiasts young and old. Despite the passage of time, its allure and inspiration are still the same. Today SCORE International remains the premier desert racing organization in the world. SCORE Off-road racing is the original extreme sport. Freezing temperatures, blistering heat, fog, snow, rain, and physical exhaustion. It s all here. It is the ultimate story of man vs. man, man vs. machine, and man vs. the elements. SCORE races have been used by automotive manufactures and aftermarket suppliers for years as the ultimate proving grounds for their vehicles and products. SCORE has a long history and has earned international fame. At present, SCORE has launched itself into the mainstream extreme sports market and Trophy Trucks are at the forefront of this evolution. These marketing machines are attracting broadcasting groups such as NBC Sports, CBS Sports, Speed Vision, Discovery Channel, and have also made their cinematic debut in Dana Brown s Dust To Glory, a nation-wide theatrical release showcasing the famed Baja 1000. THE IMPERIAL VALLEY 250 FAST FACTS As the only SCORE series event in California, it is being anticipated that it may have the largest attendance of spectators and participants of any 2015 off road racing event. The central proximity of this event is expected to draw fans from San Diego, San Bernardino, Riverside, and LA Counties all of which have a heavy population of Off Road enthusiasts. It is also expected to draw spectators from Phoenix AZ and it surrounding cities as well as the Off Road oriented population of Las Vegas NV and residents of BAJA. In 2014, the Imperial Valley SCORE Committee brought two huge events to the Valley. SCORE Imperial Valley 250 held in April and the SCORE Desert Challenge held in September. In 2015, we are expecting the largest number of participants and spectators to date. With two very successful SCORE events already in the books, the 2015 event is gaining momentum and creating a lot of excitement in the desert racing world. This event will put the Imperial Valley community as a whole on the map for Off Road enthusiasts worldwide as a premier destination for off road enthusiasts. The Imperial Valley 250 event will be broadcast in over 190 countries on ESPN worldwide and is expected to receive millions of social media impressions via interaction by participants, fans, sponsors and media SCORE S ECONOMIC IMPACT AT A GLANCE A SCORE Desert racing event attracts on average 300 participants to compete in each event.
