TECHNICAL GUIDE 11th Annual Nittany Lion Cross Saturday September 17 & Sunday September 18, 2016 Valley Preferred Cycling Center Breinigsville, PA 18031 The Venue: The Velodrome Park, Breinigsville, PA, located 50 miles north of Philadelphia. The Event: These two races are Events #2 and #3 on the 2016 MAC Series Schedule. Both days are UCI Class 2 events. UCI regulations and UCI scale of penalties will apply to the UCI events. UCI licensed 17-18 Junior Women, will ride with the UCI Women. Non-UCI events are held under USAC regulations. The event follows the guidelines in the 2016 Mid-Atlantic Cyclocross Series Technical Guide

Cyclocross Racing Age is the riders age on 12/31/2017. Licensing: A current USAC domestic license is required for USAC events. Number Placement: Hip numbers are to be placed on your LEFT SIDE on Saturday and your RIGHT SIDE on Sunday. Shoulder numbers shall be worn on the upper forearm/shoulder so they are visible frontally. The first turn is a sweeping turn to the right. There is one set of barriers. The course is undulating. There is one section that crosses over some tree roots. The course is 2.9 km in length.

Call-up Protocol: The riders shall assemble in the call-up zone at least 10 minutes before the start. Call-ups for UCI Men and UCI Women races will be based on the latest UCI points followed by random order. UCI RIDERS MUST PRE-REGISTER. Bib number will indicate your start grid position. The call-up protocol for the MAC Series races (with the exception of the Cat 4/5 Men and the 9-14 Men and Women) will be based on the latest MAC Series rankings as posted on the MAC Series website for the first 3 rows (24 starters), followed by Crossresults.com standings, followed by order of pre-registration. The same rankings are used for both races in a double-race weekend. Call-up protocol for the Cat 4/5 Men will be based on order of registration. Bib number will indicate your start grid position. Lapped Riders: In USAC events, lapped riders will finish on the same lap as the leaders. Riders in danger of being lapped must yield to oncoming racers and are not to interfere with their progress or trail behind them. UCI Rule 5.1.051 Lapped riders must complete the lap during which they were lapped and leave the event via an exit located before the finishing straight. They will be listed in the results in the order in which they are pulled out of the race plus the number of laps which have not been completed. UCI Rule 5.1.052 The decision as to whether the 80% rule is to be applied will be made by the president of the commissaires panel after discussion with the organizer. UCI Rule 1.3.018 For UCI races, the maximum tire size is 33mm. Feeding: No feeding in the UCI events.
