Congratulations to Sue Bennett for her Hole-in-One on April 1 st on Hole #16! NO April Fools prank, this was the real deal. This is Sue s first hole-in-one, I understand a lot of celebrating was going on. I was there to witness Donna Murray s second shot, hole #3, on lady s day. GOLF COMMITEE REPORT by Glen Reid Well, at this writing, it sure doesn t feel like Spring. But, it looks like warm weather gets here just in time for aeration. Go figure!! The good news is that the warmer weather helps the greens heal quicker and gets us back to the those lovable Cripple Creek greens. Our new scorecards are now in use. They have a new look and the new tees and ratings are now official. I encourage, for those of you who struggle to reach the greens in regulation, to try our Friendly tees. The object is to have fun and enjoy playing the game. The outside group play is winding down so there is ample opportunity to get out on the range and the course to get your game ready for the heat of the golf season. Also I would strongly encourage you to give consideration to availing yourselves to our professionals for a lesson, or 2, or 3, etc. If not individual instruction, consider a clinic. We have a great group of teachers here at the Creek and we can all use a little improvement. I must say, I have been pleasantly surprised at the noticeable reduction in the number of tees, broken and whole, that are being left on the tee boxes. Good work, and if you see any, throw them into the long grass. Everyone always hears about pace of play well, there is a very good book, Golf s Pace of Play Bible by Lucius Riccio, available on Kindle. A big well done, and congratulations to Sueann Bennett, for her hole-in-one on #16. She said it was 109 yards with an 8 iron, but it was April 1 (Fools Day) so...hit em straight and enjoy.
