It will be marked with cones or a line on the road to indicate the start or end of the bike course. This mount and dismount area is a no-ride & safe zone. This means that the athlete is required to push their bike into the transition area and not cycle-through. This is to ensure the safety of other oncoming or outgoing athletes in pursuit. LEAVING TRANSITION AREA MOUNT AFTER THE LINE Prepare to mount bike AFTER the MOUNT HERE line. See image to see the standard mounting method. Do not to attempt flying mounts until you ve mastered them. It is ok for you to stop momentarily and get on your bike the way you are used to. BIKE IN Experienced Triathlete Fly mounting Newbie Triathlete Stops and swings onto bike ARRIVING TRANSITION AREA DISMOUNT BEFORE THE LINE During a Triathlon race, please do look out and observe the mount and dismount line when you leave or arrive at the transition area via the BIKE OUT or BIKE IN entrance. Fly mounting how-to BIKE OUT Make sure your bike is in an easy gear to start. For those using Clipless Bike Shoes Have your shoes already clipped on. Put on helmet, glasses and bib. And if using running shoes, slip on shoes first. Lift bike from bike stand and push your bike towards the BIKE OUT entrance. It is good practice to be familiar with your plans for swim-in, bike-out, bike-in, and run-out before the race. BIKE DISMOUNT GUIDE end of bike course Push your bike along the way leading back to your allocated transition basket. Return bike to bike rack. Remove helmet, put on running shoes and head for the RUN OUT entrance. Dismount how-to At the end of your bike course, approaching the DISMOUNT LINE, prepare to dismount by slipping off your feet from your clipless shoes. And if wearing your running shoes, prepare to slow down to get off your bike BEFORE the DISMOUNT LINE. If you are not familiar to dismount while still in motion, do stop momentarily and get off your bike safely with the way you normally do. Keep calm and race well!
