NOTICE OF RACE B14 European Championship 20 23 June 2016 www.circolovelatorbole.com The Organising Authority is the B14 European Class Association in conjunction with Circolo Vela Torbole and the Event will be run from Circolo Vela Torbole, Lungolago Conca d oro, 12 38069 Torbole sul Garda. 1. RULES 1.1 The Event will be governed by the rules as defined in the Racing Rules of Sailing 1.2 No national prescriptions shall apply 1.3 Racing rules 44.1 and 44.2 will be changed as follows: Two-turn penalty is changed so that only one turn, including one tack and one gybe, is required. Racing rules 44.1 and 44.2 are further changed in that when an incident occurs where a penalty applies while the head of the spinnaker is above the main-boom gooseneck, the penalty may be taken immediately after the next time the head of the spinnaker is lowered below the main-boom gooseneck but shall be taken prior to rounding the next mark or crossing the finishing line. The changes will appear in full in the sailing instructions. Rule 44.3 will not apply. 1.4 If there is a conflict between languages the English text will take precedence 1.5 Give the right-of-way to public boats in service on the lake. 2. ELIGIBILITY AND ENTRY 2.1 The Event is open to all boats of the International B14 Class 2.2 Competitors must be members of their National Authority (an RYA recognised club for UK entrants) and member their Regional B14 Association at the time of registration 2.3 Eligible boats may enter by completing an online entry at: http://www.circolovelatorbole.com 3. ENTRY FEE 3.1 The entry fee is 250 Euros for entries received up to and including 15 May 2016 3.2 The entry for will be 300 Euros for entries received after 15 May 2016 3.3 The entry fee for Euro and World Champioship is 600 Euros and after 15 May 2016 it will icrease to 700 Euros

The entry fee must be paid in Euro (no other currencies will be accepted) by bank transfer to the bank account of the Circolo Vela Torbole. Any fee for the money transfer must be paid by sender, and the amount must be net for the beneficiary. For payment from Europe include the IBAN code. For payment outside Europe use IBAN and BIC code. The bank transfer shall clearly indicate SAIL NUMBER, COUNTRY AND NAME OF THE SKIPPER. SCHEDULE 4.1 All competitors shall complete entry, registration and measurement at Circolo Vela Torbole between 1000 hrs and 1700 hrs on the 20 June. 4.2 A maximum of 8 races will be sailed 4.3 No more than four (4) races will be sailed on any one day 4.4 Monday 20 June 2016 Registration & 1000 hrs - >1700 hrs Tuesday 21 June 2016 Measurement Briefing 2 races Opening Ceremony 1030 hrs 1300 hrs After first day races Wednesday 22 June 2016 3 races 1300 hrs Thursday 23 June 2016 3 races 1300 hrs Prize Giving Following conclusion of racing 4.5 No warning signal will be made later than 1630 hrs on Thursday 23 June 2016 5. MEASUREMENT 5.1 All boats shall be presented for measurement as per 4. Schedule 5.2 Measurement checks and inspections may be carried out at any time. A Boat notified of inspection shall follow the instructions of the Race Committee 6. SAILING INSTRUCTIONS Sailing Instructions will be available at registration and may be posted on the websites www.b14.org and www.circolavelatorbole.com at a prior time 7. VENUE The Racing Area will be the waters of Torbole off Circolo Vela Torbole. Notice showing the racing area will be posted on the official notice board. 8. THE COURSES Windward / Leeward courses will be sailed as detailed in the Sailing Instructions 9. SCORING SYSTEM 9.1 A minimum of three(3) races are required to be completed to constitute the regatta. 9.2 When fewer than 4 races have been completed, a boat s series score will be the total of all her race scores. 9.3 When from 4 to 8 races have been completed, a boat s series score will be the total of all her race scores excluding her worst score.

10. SUPPORT BOATS/COACHES Team Managers, Coaches and other support personnel shall keep 100 m. clear of the course area during racing, except when asked to assist by the Race Committee. All the supporters and trainers boats must get an accreditation at their arrival. Mechanically propelled boats are generally prohibited on the northern part of Lake Garda, however, during this event, a special permit to use such boats may be given producing the following documents to the Organising Authority: rib s engine registration document (engine brand name - engine serial numbers); rib s engine insurance; Driver s identity document. They will be given a flag with an identification number. In case it was asked by the R.C. they will help in rescue operations. After the Warning Signal and during the races, all those boats or dinghies must stay at least 100 meters clear from the race course 11. RADIO COMMUNICATIONS Except in an emergency, a boat shall neither make radio transmission whilst racing nor receive radio communications not available to all boats. This restriction also applies to mobile telephones. 12. PRIZES Prizes in the European Championship will be awarded as follows: First, Second, Third, Fourth and Fifth overall. There will also be handicap and daily spot prizes presented by the Class Association. 13. RIGHTS TO USE NAME AND LIKENESS In participating in an Event, a competitor automatically grants the Organising Authority and the sponsors of the Event, the right in perpetuity, to make, use and show from time to time at their discretion, any motion pictures, still pictures and live, taped or film television and other reproductions of him/her during the period of the competition for the said Event in which the competitor participates and in all material related to the said Event without compensation. 14. DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY Competitors participate in the regatta entirely at their own risk. See rule 4, Decision to Race. The organising authority will not accept any liability for material damage or personal injury or death sustained in conjunction with or prior to, during, or after the Event. 15. INSURANCE Each participating boat shall be insured with valid third-party liability insurance with a minimum cover of euro 1.500.000 ( 3million recommended ) per event or the equivalent. Competitors will be required to produce evidence of such insurance and any competitor not holding this cover shall withdraw their entry. 16. CAR PARKING During the Regatta the car Park will not garanted outside the Club, anyway some car place will be avaible next to the club 17. TRAILERS For competitors whose boat arrives by trailer, once unloaded all trailers must taken off site and stored for the duration of the event in the designated CVT trailer parking area which will be adjacent to Hotel Villa Stella, Via Strada Granda 104-38069 Torbole, as located detailed on the attached map. 18. POST SAILING Each day immediately after sailing there will be a pasta party for all competitors 19. CLEARING SITE All boats save for any packed containers are to be away from site by 1200hrs on Wednesday 30 June. This is due to another major championship event commencing on site from Thursday 1 st July.

Alternative parking for a reasonable period from 30 th June ) will be available at the CVT trailer park near Hotel Villa Stella longer stay by direct arrangement with the club. 20. AMENDMENTS Any amendments to this Notice of Race shall be posted on the www.b14.org and www.circolovelatorbole.com websites no later than 1 May 2016 21.
