THE GLOBAL SOCCER SCHOOL THE VOLLEYBALL HOUSE SOCCER PROS The Global Soccer School at the Volleyball House is directed by Scott Horta, a recent graduate of Towson University and Puerto Rican National team player of the great sport of soccer. His Global Soccer School features a diversity of youth coaches and players that have played professionally in England, Spain, and the Philippines. This soccer school will demonstrate an International style of play based on hundreds of touches on the ball each session which is common to countries who have won the World Cup. These touches instill the muscle memory and balance which is key to success in the game. In an atmosphere of fun, youth will learn at a young age the simple parts of the game that are essential in soccer development. The program deals with the core components of the game: Body awareness and control in a variety of situations Ball control with both feet and every part of the foot Ability to perform tasks, and even multi-task Ability to have fun and enjoy the learning process. Global Soccer School Coaches have professional experience in England with notable youth teams like Queens Park Rangers, Millwall, Brighton, and Yeovil Town. They have coached overseas for youth academies and they take pride in their ability. Scott is joined by key position coaches: Phil Greatwich: Philippines Nat l team, Brighton s youth and second team o Defender Joe O Rourke: Millwall s youth and second team o Defensive and Attacking center midfielder John Steele: Yeovil Town s youth and second team o Goalkeeper

Scott Horta is proud and excited to have the opportunity to introduce the Global Soccer School at the Volleyball House. He has been fortunate enough to coach 3 to 10 year old girls and boys for the past few years. He holds a MSYSA E-level coaching license and coaches 2 teams for Pipeline Soccer Club. He also trains a SAC 11 and under team at the Volleyball House. His extensive experience in playing professional and coaching youth has proven helpful in his dream of developing a toddler s soccer program for ages 3-6. Scott s accomplishments: 4-year starter at Towson University, a Division 1 athletics program. 2-year captain. 4-year all conference player for the CAA (Colonial Athletic Association). Rookie of the year in 2007 for all of Towson University. 4-year all CAA 3 rd team player. Plays for the Puerto Rican National soccer team. Played 8 total games against opponents like Canada, Honduras, St. Kitts and Nevis, and St. Lucia in the past 3 years for the 2010 and 2014 World Cup Qualifying rounds. Trains with the Baltimore Blast (indoor professional team) and the Harrisburg City Islanders (USL professional team) Coach s youth soccer camps at Mcdonogh high school, for SAC at Covenant park, for the Baltimore Bays in Churchville, as well as youth academies at Pipeline Soccer Club in Towson. Program Schedule: Scott has come up with 3 eight-week classes that are offered on Tuesdays. They are as followed: Tuesday: 1/10, 1/17, 1/24, 1/31, 2/7, 2/14, 2/21, 2/28. Each class meets once a week for a 50-minute session eight weeks straight. The age grouping will be as follows: 10:00A.M 10:50A.M = 3-4 year olds 11:00A.M 11:50A.M = 4-5 year olds 12:00P.M 12:50P.M = 5-6 year olds The fee for each class of eight weeks is $85. You can also do a drop in for a session at a fee of $12. Therefore, for the 8-week classes, Scott offers a discount in signing up for the full class. Kids should bring their own ball and water for each session.

Parents should contact Scott Horta via email, shorta103@gmail.com, to sign up. Make sure to specify how old the child is, what day or days you have selected to attend each week, and any possible question you may have. His email is programed to his phone so he will receive and read messages promptly. Thank you for your interest in improving your child s soccer skills. I look forward to meeting each and every person, especially the little soccer stars.

Global Soccer School Scott Horta will be running summer camps at the Volleyball House. Here, it is encouraged to sign up either individually, with friends, or through a team sign up. At this VBH Pro Soccer Development camp, many different skills and tactics will be taught. These will include: Dribbling technique Passing ability Shooting form Defending (individual and group) Attacking with numbers However, these drills will be age appropriate with fun incorporated in every session. It is Scott s goal to make sure every participant enjoys every minute at the camp, but also learns new skills that will prepare him or her for their fall seasons. It is about improving skills and gaining confidence to use those skills at the appropriate times during a game. Approximate age: 7-14 Time: 9:00-3:00, lunch: 12:00-1:00 Fee: $200 Participants must either bring a lunch or buy food at the concession stand. Water should be brought to camp; however, there is a water fountain present. Participants should also bring their cleats as well as their indoor shoes because the volleyball courts will be used during the sessions. Participants are encouraged to sign up for multiple camps at a discount. Teams will be able to stay together so that they can develop and improve as a team. Teams will also have a discounted fee. Coaches The Volleyball House and Scott Horta take pride in their program. The coaches that will be available are former Towson University four-year starters that have professional experience in England with notable youth teams like Queens Park Rangers, Millwall, Brighton, and Yeovil Town.

Scott Finds it important to have coaches that have recent playing experience overseas as well as in the states. They have coached overseas for youth academies and they take pride in their ability. Our key position coaches are: Phil Greatwich: Philippines Nat l team, Brighton s youth and second team o Defender Joe O Rourke: Millwall s youth and second team o Defensive and Attacking center midfielder John Steele: Yeovil Town s youth and second team o Goalkeeper

TUTOR SESSIONS Individual/Team training One-on-one training is the best way to get a player to learn specific drills that pertain to the exact position desired. It is also the best way to focus and work hard because the coach is specifically planning out drills just for the player. Scott Horta enjoys coaching one-on-one training sessions because he can get the best out of a player, which will help to improve on all possible aspects of the game. Team or small group (2-6) training is also a great way to improve players skills in a game like environment. Healthy competition is important in a player s development and will only make each player work harder. Scott Horta runs the tutor sessions. Contact him via email to set up a session for your child, small group, or team. Shorta103@gmail.com Tutor sessions last 1 hour.
