Converted by St. Patrick, the Celts were loyal to the Church s Christian teachings. Highly skilled in the visual arts, they produced intricate metalwork. True Celts were regarded as a military artistocracy defined by qualities of chilvary, courage and bravery. www.stthom.edu/volleyball Jill REYNOLDS Head Volleyball Coach Jill Reynolds has enjoyed the challenge of starting the first women s varsity volleyball program for the University of St. Thomas. Entering her second season leading the Lady Celts, Jill Reynolds continues to put the pieces together to build St. Thomas into a premiere program in the NAIA Region VI. Under Reynolds guidance, two strong returners and a young, talented group of recruits, the Lady Celts are expected to make tremendous strides during the 2007 season. The 2006 team was recognized by the American Volleyball Coaches Association, receiving the Game Plan/AVCA Team Academic Award, honoring the team for their dedication to the sport of volleyball while maintaining excellence in the classroom Jill Reynolds hometown is Paris, TX. In college she participated in two intercollegiate sports, volleyball and soccer, receiving American Southwest All Conference Team Awards for both. She also received Academic All Conference Awards as well. Her background includes a Bachelor s in all level physical education from Hardin-Simmons University, and a Master s in Kinesiology from Sam Houston State University. Jill was the head volleyball coach and assistant coach for basketball, soccer and track at Conroe High. She was also an instructor at Kingwood College and San Jacinto Community College. Jill is a member of AVCA, NIRSA and TAHPERD. Reynolds is supported by her husband, Brandon Reynolds and daughter Alaina. Jill is expecting a new addition to her family this winter. 2

#05 Casey played varsity volleyball for 4 years, receiving First Team All-District Awards for 2 years and for the 3rd year she received the First Team All-District MVP as well as High School MVP. She was chosen to the Golden Triangle All-District Team and Academic All District Awards. She has also played club volleyball for 3 years. She has also lettered in basketball, softball, track, and golf. She was also a varsity cheerleader and chosen to the UCA cheerleading squad. She is also an officer in the CYO (Catholic Youth Organization), and chosen for Who's Who. #06 Heather played varsity volleyball as a two-year letterman. As a middle blocker, she played for club volleyball Crush and Texas Thunder. She was honored as Best Offensive Player at the end of her senior year. She led her Humble High School team to 9th place in the Pearland tournament in 2005 where over 50 teams compete and she was chosen for first team 22-5A All-District as a senior. She excels on the court and in the classroom. As an honor student, She graduated 130 out of 991. She was also a valuable member of the 2006 Lady Celts volleyball team. She graduated from Hargrave High School as a Texas Scholar in 2005 and received All-District team awards senior year. She played 3 years of club volleyball for Richland Juniors and then Texas Thunder. She coached JV 2 volleyball at Duchesne Academy 2006 and also coached two years of club volleyball at Texas Thunder. Laura WELCH Laura comes to us from Eastern University which is a Division III nationally ranked team and qualified for NCAA nationals. She attended Lamar High School and was named 1st Team All-District her senior year and 2nd Team All-District her junior year. Both years her team went to playoffs. She also received the Lamar Redskin spirit award for enthusiasm, attitude, good sportsmanship, and encouragement. She also Sophomore 5 6 Setter Houston, Texas Lamar HS/Eastern University Lindsey PARKS Freshman 5 8 Libero Batson, Texas West Hardin HS Lindsey graduated from West Hardin High School with Honors. She has played Varsity Volleyball for Coach Angie Cruse for 4 years. She received All-District in volleyball in 2004, 2005 and Defensive MVP in 2006. She led her to team to a 2006 District Championship. She played Club Volleyball for Hardin County Jrs. under Coach Megan O'Quinn for 3 years. Sarah was the setter for her high school team and led the team in assists. Her team was State Semi-Finalists for the past two years. She was also the setter for the San Antonio Heat Volleyball Club. In 2006 she received the Uvalde High School All-Tournament Award and 2005 Team MVP. University of St. Thomas played club ball for Club Texas, and Spike Sport, which was ranked 7th in the region and qualified for JO invitational and placed 3rd and 1st in Power League tournament, and Texas Thunder. #13 #15 This will be Mary Ann's second season as a Lady Celt. She received the Lady Celt team award after leading the team in total kills, kill efficiency, solo and assist blocks, and second in aces and digs. As an Outside/Right Side for the Lady Rebels, they made an appearance at Regionals the two years she spent there. She earned the Lee College Volleyball Team MVP award in 2006 and also earned All-Conference/All Region Academic Team for the both years. She was also awarded the Class Act Award for 4 semesters (GPA above 3.0). In 2004, she graduated from #16 www.stthom.edu/volleyball Courtney received 1st team All-District and Academic All-District Awards for both her junior and senior years. In her 2005 season, her team finished as District Champions in 3A and Regional Finalists. As captain during her 2006 season, she led her team in her school s first undefeated 4A District Championship where they finished as Regional Semi-finalists. Courtney was named to the Santa Fe All- Tournament and was voted by her teammates as team MVP receiving the Dare to Soar Award as a senior. She played club for South Shore Juniors for two years. Mallory played volleyball for four years, receiving All-District, Centex Volleyball Recognized, and Academic All-District awards. She also received Female Athlete of the year for Anderson High School & Team MVP. In 2006 her team went to Bi-District playoffs. She also played club volleyball on a nationally ranked team.
