SHB SUPREME HUNTER CHAMPIONSHIPS This show is a qualifier for the Alexander Horseboxes/SHB Supreme Hunter Championships at Stafford Showground (20-21 August 2016) Ridden Class- Mare or Gelding of any type, exceeding 148cms suitable for all Riding Club activities. Must be ridden by a British Riding Club member (who is also classed as an amateur under SHB rules). The two highest placed horses in the first four, who have not already qualified, will qualify for the Riding Club Championship class to held at the Alexander Horseboxes/SHB Supreme Hunter Championships on Saturday 20th August 2016 with the final 9 going through to the evening performance. Format of Championship Class: To be judged 50% manners and individual show, 50% conformation. Horses will walk, trot and canter on both reins as a class. Individual shows will be performed which must include lengthened canter/gallop. Horses will not be ridden by the judge and riders will not be asked to dismount. Riding Club Youngstock Class- 1, 2 or 3yr old filly or gelding to exceed 148cms at maturity, suitable for any Riding Club activity, to be shown by a Riding club member who is also an amateur under SHB rules. The highest placed horse of each age-group in the first six, who has not already qualified, will qualify for the Riding Club Champion Youngstock class. BSHA GRASS ROOTS The two highest placed Horses, in the top four, not already qualified, in classes 29-31 qualify for the Grass Roots Championship, to be held at The BSHA National Championship Show on Saturday 10 th September 2016 at Addington Manor. Prejudging will take place during the day with a final in the Evening Performance. Owners, Riders and Horses, are not required to be Members of the British Show Horse Association in-order to compete in the BSHA Grass Roots Training classes or Grass Roots Training Championship. These classes are specifically aimed at those Horses and Riders who are not regularly qualifying for the major Championship Shows and wish to improve. Riders must not have competed at The Horse of the Year Show within the last 5 years, with the exception of the Search for a Star Final. Open to Horse & Rider combination not to have won a total of 200 in Showing Classes. Open to Horses which are stabled at home or in a DIY or non-show yard. Horses to be ridden by an Amateur (please see BSHA Rule Book 2015) this does not exclude receiving lessons from a Professional showing person. No Professional producers are allowed into the Ring to groom/strip the Horse. Failure to abide by the Rules may result in ineligibility to compete at the BSHA National Championship Show in any class. The class will enter on the right rein, walk, trot, canter and extend (with the exception of Hacks). The Judge will ride ALL the exhibits. The Judge on completion of the ride will give a brief critique on this and offer advice as to how to develop/improve this aspect. The Conformation Judge will give each exhibit advice on Type, Weight (in relation to Cobs), Blemishes etc. With regard to the Hacks, both Judges will offer advice on the individual shows. After the two Judges confer the class will walk a circle and the final line up will be pulled in. On entering these BSHA Training Classes, Exhibitors will undertake to accept the advice given in the spirit in which it is intended. Please also note that advice will be audible to fellow competitors and observers of the classes. This is a UNIQUE chance to learn and develop ones showing in a way never normally offered. These classes are specifically aimed at those Horse and Riders who are not regularly qualifying for the major Championship Shows and who wish to improve. SSA CLASSES: EQUITATION CHAMPIONSHIPS OPEN QUALIFYING CLASS Run under SSA Rules defined in the current Member s Handbook. Open to SSA Members and Non-Members. Members carrying their current Championship Points Cards are eligible for SSA rosettes to 3rd Adult and 3rd Junior places and SSA Championship Points. Southernden Farm offers a rosette to the highest placed Member aged under 14 on 1st January of the current year. Side Saddle International offer a rosette to the Adult Member and Manor Grange Stud Show Centre to the Junior Member, judged to be the best turned out. Juniors must wear Hats to current Safety Standard or above. CLASSICAL LADIES SIDE SADDLE QUALIFIER To be judged 25% conformation and action, 25% manners & way of going, 25% rider, and 25% turnout of horse & rider, by a SHBGB, BSHA, BSPS, P(UK) or SSA Panel Judge. Judges may request a short show, but will not ride exhibits; horses will not be stripped. Traditional habits must be worn. Fancy Dress and Period Costumes NOT permitted. N.B. Silk hats are permitted to be worn in this class AT ANY TIME OF THE DAY. Judges are requested to use the mark sheet provided. The highest placed horse/rider combination qualifies for the Final to be held at the National Side Saddle Show. In the event of previous qualification, this may be passed down to fourth place. Special rosettes are offered by Mrs. T. Mitchell to the winner and if the winner has already qualified, a second rosette is awarded with the Qualification Card. Qualifying combinations are required to become Full Members of the SSA 21 days prior to the National Side Saddle Show or as soon as possible if qualified after that date to be eligible to be eligible to compete at the Final. Combinations qualifying between one National Side Saddle Show and the next may carry forward the qualification, for that year only. The highest placed Riding Horse, Hack (not exceeding 160cm), Cob or Hunter, Mare or Gelding, 4 years and over, ridden by a SSA Adult Member qualifies for the current year s BSHA Championship Show Total Impact Equestrian Ladies Show Horse Championship and if already qualified the ticket will go to the next highest placed horse down to 5 th place. Combinations qualifying after the current year s BSHA Championship Show may carry forward the qualification, to the following year. SSA Members who qualify for The Ladies Show Horse Championship, will not be required to join the BSHA in order to compete in any Side Saddle class at the BSHA National Championship Show. If the BSHA Championship Show entries have closed at the time of qualification, competitors will not be charged a late entry fee for the Championship. SIDE SADDLE CONCOURS d ÉLÉGANCE The sole criterion for this class is the elegance of the picture presented by horse and rider. Attention may be paid to the rider s personal appearance but detailed inspection of rider or tack is not required. Fancy dress or period costume is not permitted. Competitors are required to walk, trot and canter. No individual show is required, but the Judge may ask groups of 3 or 4 riders to give short displays. 4 Special rosettes will be awarded to the highest placed Adult Members wearing a silk hat, bowler hat, safety hat and the highest placed Junior Member of the SSA carrying their current Championship Points Cards. N.B. Silk hats are permitted to be worn by Adults IN THIS CLASS AT ANY TIME OF DAY. Juniors must wear hats to current Safety standards or above for this class. Adult riders not wearing such hats do so at their own risk.

EQUIFEST This Show is affiliated to Equifest, taking place at the East of England Showground in August 2017. The two highest exhibits not already qualified in each affiliated class will qualify. TSR RIDERS & IN HAND CHAMPIONSHIPS This show is a qualifier for the 2016 TSR Riders/In Hand Regional Championships. Qualify and enter ANY of the Regional Finals Central, East Anglia, North West, North East, South East, South, Wales & South West or Scottish. You Do Not have to be a TSR member to qualify or enter a final. The Rider/Handler qualifies and can enter any horse/pony in any number of Finals! The South East Championships are at the Southern Counties Horse Show on 11 th September 2016. TSR In Hand Champs The two highest placed Handlers in classes 27-37 with a TSR In Hand Card will qualify in any In Hand class. Handlers MUST have their cards signed in the ring by the judge/steward, cards are available FREE from the TSR website. If you wish to attend and qualify at this show please also let the secretary know so that we can send your name off to 15+. 15+ Dressage Championship 2016 National Unaffiliated Dressage Championships & Hickstead Unaffiliated Dressage Championship: These classes are aimed exclusively for horses & ponies aged 15 years & over giving competitors the opportunity to compete at 15+ National Dressage Championship Events. To enter the Championship events the rider and horse/pony will be required to join 15+ and the qualification cards must be returned within 14 days of the qualifying show. Correctly fastened hard hats must be worn by ALL riders, when mounted, on the showground. Due to a change by the European Commission regarding EN1384 and BSEN1384 no longer being an accepted standard, all hats which only meet the standard EN1384 or BSEN1384, and do not comply with another standard, WILL NOT be accepted and therefore will not be permitted for any BRC competition. Hats which bear EN1384 or BSEN1384 along with another standard will be tagged. For example, BSEN1384 & PAS015 (1998 or 2011) along with the Kitemark, would be acceptable, but not BSEN1384 on its own. 2. Competitors will be eliminated for excessive use of the whip, spurs, abusive language or for abuse to horse or pony. 3. The Judge s decision is final. 4. Objections must be made in writing to the secretary within 30 minutes of the incident accompanied by a deposit of 20 that will be forfeit if the objection is overruled. 5. The organisers will not be held responsible for any accident, loss, theft or damage howsoever caused to any person or their property or their animals on the showground. It shall be considered a condition of entry that each entrant shall agree to indemnify the organisers against any legal action arising from such accidents 6. No entry fee will be refunded unless either a medical or vet s certificate is produced. 7. No horse or pony may compete in ridden classes under the age of 4 years. 8. Horses/Ponies may only walk between rings and are not allowed around the Refreshment or Secretary areas. Practice fences and areas are allotted. 9. Challenge trophies must be signed for before removal from the Showground and MUST be returned by 30 th June the following year. 10. The Organisers reserve the right to withhold up to 50% of the entry fees in the unlikely event of the Show being cancelled or abandoned. 11. All dogs to be kept on leads & under control at all times. 12. Please take your litter home with you. Do not muck out your transport on to the Showground. 13. The Organisers have taken reasonable precautions to ensure the health and safety of everyone present. For these to be effective, everyone must take all reasonable precautions to avoid and prevent accidents and must obey the instructions of the Organisers and all the Officials and Stewards. 14.
