ENTRY REQUIREMENTS This event consists of two shows: an open show on Friday, and the ODS Championship show on Saturday and Sunday. You must complete two entry forms to compete in both shows. To compete in the Championship Show, rider must be a current ODS member in good standing. Adult riders must also be current USEF members in good standing. Include with entries for each show copies of current membership cards as specified on pages R-5 R-8. See also "General Rules" in the next section. QUALIFYING REQUIREMENTS GENERAL RULES: 1. Rider must be a current ODS member in good standing at time score is earned. 2. Qualifying Season: 08/07/07 08/20/08. Championship qualifying scores must be earned during the current qualifing year prior to the closing date for entries. 3. Only scores received at USEF/USDF/ODS recognized shows may be used. (League shows and practice shows do not count.) 4. Only scores received using current USEF approved dressage tests count. Dressage equitation does not count Dressage suitability does not count USDF Introductory Level/lead line classes do not count 5. Qualifying scores must be earned by a horse/rider combination, they cannot be earned separately. 6. In order to establish your qualification for championship classes, list your qualifying score(s) on the back of the entry form and attach photocopy(s) of the front cover of the qualifying test(s) to the entry form. Also enclose all copies as specified on pages R-5 R-7. 7. Open show classes will be run under USEF Open Show Rules; Championship Show classes will be run under USEF/USDF Championship Rules, in that Championship classes must be read from memory, and whips are not allowed; Additionally, at no time during the Championship competition may an entered horse be ridden by anyone other than the rider entered on that horse (with the exception of a groom walking on a loose rein). Any horse entered in the Championship competition must be ridden by the same rider throughout the entire competition. *We will not be closing competition arena gates during tests, nor raking centerlines between riders. 8. Horse/rider combinations may enter two levels, but may only ride in one division (Open, Adult Amateur, or Junior/Young Rider). Each horse entered must be ridden by the same rider throughout the competition 9. Horse/rider combinations winning Championship Show classes may not compete at that level in future championship classes (except FEI). 10. Tests selected for championship classes are at the discretion of show management. Training Fourth Levels will ride the two highest tests of the R-64 2008 Oregon Dressage Society Regional Omnibus

level. FEI Championship classes will be judged by two judges. Championship scores will be calculated by averaging the percentages earned in the two tests ridden. FREESTYLE, PAS DE DEUX & QUADRILLE: 1. Open to all riders who have met the qualifying score requirements. 2. Each competitor must have previously met USEF qualifying requirements at the level for freestyles. 3. Each rider/horse combination must have at least two scores from any test of the level at any USEF/USDF/ODS recognized competition to qualify for each level, with the following scores: All USDF and FEI levels, 58% or above JUNIOR/YOUNG RIDER DIVISION: 1. Definition: rider must be 21 years of age or younger. 2. Each rider/horse combination must earn at least two qualifying scores from any test of the level at two different USEF/USDF/ODS recognized competitions from two different judges to qualify for each level, at the minimum scores listed below: Training Level, 60%; First Level, 60%; Second Level, 58%; Third Level, 55%; Fourth Level, 55%; PSG, 55%; I -1, 55%; I -2, 55%; Grand Prix 55% ADULT AMATEUR DIVISION: 1. Definition: riders must be 21 years of age or older, and must have amateur noted on their USEF membership cards. 2. Each rider/horse combination must earn at least two qualifying scores from any test of the level at two different USEF/USDF/ODS recognized competitions from two different judges to qualify for each level, at the minimum scores listed below: Training Level, 60%; First Level, 60%; Second Level, 58%; Third Level, 56%; Fourth Level, 56%; PSG, 55%; I -1, 55%; I -2, 55%;Grand Prix, 55% OPEN DIVISION: 1. Definition: open to all competitors. Please Note: Horse/rider combinations may enter two levels, but may only ride in one division (Open, Adult Amateur, or Junior/Young Rider). 2. Each rider/horse combination must earn at least two qualifying scores from any test of the level at two different USEF/USDF/ODS recognized competitions from two different judges to qualify for each level, at the minimum scores listed below: Training Level, 62%; First Level, 60%; Second Level, 60%; Third Level, 58%; Fourth Level, 58%; PSG, 58%; I -1, 56%; I -2, 56%; Grand Prix 56% The information on pages R1-R15 applies to all shows in this section. ABOUT THE FACILITY Arenas & Footing Six outdoor arenas (three competition and three warm-up) with either hog fuel or sand footing. Indoor arena with sand footing will be used only if necessary. All competition arenas are 20m x 60m Children & Pets Dogs are not allowed anywhere on the show grounds. Please, for safety, no unattended children. Food Concessions on grounds. See website for details closer to the show date. Premium parking permits VERY LIMITED premium parking around the show office available with parking pass for $40/weekend. All vehicles and trailers parked in premium parking spaces must display permit. RV Hookups/Camping Electrical service is available at the end of each stall row. Campers, motor homes and the like with premium parking permits are welcome to run an extension cord during evening hours. As a safety measure, extension cords must be unplugged and stowed during the day. Please, out of courtesy to your neighbors, no generators. No charge for dry camping in the parking lot outside of the white fence. Stabling Stall fee, $110/weekend (both shows). Tack stalls, $95/weekend. Stalls are 10x10 portable box stalls with full doors, initial bedding provided (Dry Den Horse Stall Pelleted Bedding has been donated by Dry Den & Wilco, our Presenting Stabling Area Sponsor). Additional bedding may be purchased through the show office. Stalls available at 1:00 p.m. Thursday before show. Day stalls (single overnight) are $45 if available. Competitors wishing to arrive prior to Thursday or staying beyond Sunday evening must first seek approval of show management. If approval is granted, the competitor will be charged $30 per extra night. No exhibitor tents or canopies in the stabling area. ADMISSION Admission and normal (not premium) parking is free with non-perishable food donation or $5.00 for Oregon Food Bank. Please be generous! AWARDS Trophies to first place and ribbons to sixth place for the open show on Friday. Awards to Champion and Reserve Champion and ribbons to tenth place for the Championship show. All horses and riders placing in the championship classes must appear for their presentation ceremony to receive their awards and ribbons. There will be an overall High Point ribbon and award for the horse/rider combination with the highest combined score for the open show on Friday. In the event of a tie, the collective marks will determine placings. If the collective marks are equal, then the tie shall remain unbroken per USEF DR 123. See 2008 ODS Futurity Rules for specifics on Futurity Awards. Sponsorship Coordinator requests that all First Place, Champion and Reserve Champion winners sign a Thank You note to their respective sponsors; Thank You notes will be located in the Awards Booth. DIRECTIONS I-5 South from Portland or I-5 North from Salem, take exit 289, Tualatin/ Sherwood. Turn west on Nyberg Road (Nyberg becomes Tualatin/Sherwood Road) and go five miles to Hwy 99W. Turn south (left) and go three miles. SCHEDULING & RIDE TIMES Ride times will be mailed and will also be available on the ODS Championship Show website: http://www.odschampionshipshow.com. It is the competitor s responsibility, however, to obtain ride times from show secretary. Management reserves the right to cancel, combine, or reorder classes, add or substitute judges, or make any other changes required. VOLUNTEERS EACH COMPETITOR IS REQUIRED TO VOLUNTEER FOR TWO HOURS. Either the competitor may do the volunteering, or she/he may designate an individual to volunteer on her/his behalf. Three Scribes plus three E-Scribes per day are being sought. The ODS chapter that provides the most volunteer hours will receive $100. All volunteers who provide at least four hours of service will receive a special gift. Please indicate your preferred volunteer activity on your entry or check for available spots on our website and e-mail the volunteer coordinator. Don t forget that volunteers are needed for set-up and breakdown and for setting up for the Saturday night event as well. WHERE TO STAY Make reservations early! Offering group rates of $89/ night single or $99/night double which includes a full, hot breakfast buffet in the restaurant each morning - mention Oregon Dressage when making reservations. Reservation must be made by August 15th to get group rate. OTHER Riders may not carry whips nor have tests called in Championship classes EMT on grounds during show. Early Schooling: Competition arenas will be open from 1:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. on Thursday and from show end until 7:00 p.m. on Friday evening ODS FUTURITY RULES 1. To make a nomination, fill out the official futurity entry form found on the next page. The futurity is open to all horses four to six years of age who have not shown at First Level or above (or equivalent test) prior to nomination (including ODS League shows). 2. Both owner and rider of the horse must be ODS members in good standing at the time of the futurity; owner need not be the rider. Horse must be nominated each year and have fees paid each year prior to competition. 3. Fees: Nomination fee: $25, due by January 31 (after Jan. 31, add $25 late fee). Futurity fee: $40, due by July 1 (after July 1, add $40 late fee). The Futurity Nomination fee and the Futurity fee are separate from the entry fee for the futurity classes. 4. The futurity consists of riding two USEF classes, Training Level Test 4 and First Level Test 1, at the ODS Championship Show. The point scores from both tests will be added and the highest total will determine the winner. Refer to ODS Championship Show Omnibus listing for futurity class entry fees and other show fees that may apply. 5. All fees go into a purse to be divided as follows: 1st place 30%, 2nd place 25%, 3rd place 20% 4th place 15%, 5th place 5%, 6th place 5% Additional ribbons will be awarded through 10 th place. Checks will be mailed within 14 business days of the completion of the show. Show committee has the right to adjust payouts if fewer than six horses compete. 6. Substitutions will be allowed, provided the substitute horse or rider meets the requirements listed above. No substitutions once competition has started. 7. Late nominations will be accepted up to the time of the Championship show s closing date at double all fees (double nomination payment and double futurity payment). 8. IMPORTANT - In an effort to be consistent with the ODS Championship Show rules, Futurity tests must be ridden from memory, and whips are not allowed.
