LAST MATCH Lansing United advanced to the Midwest Region final on Saturday night after defeating the Minnesota United Reserves by a score of 4-1. Two defenders -- Cody and Ben -- kicked off the scoring for United. struck first in the 9th minute and added his first of the season in the 13th. Matt scored his 11th of the season in the 45th minute, while Tyler got the game s final goal in the 83rd. finished with a goal and two assists. GREAT LAKES WEST CHAMPS In its first season of existence, Lansing United won the Great Lakes West Conference. The club finished with 28 points, one more than second place DCFC. The Indiana Fire finished third with 21 points. PLAYOFF INFO The regional final will take place on Sunday, July 20. Fort Pitt defeated Quad City by a score of 1-0 in the first semifinal match Saturday afternoon to advance to the final. Tickets will be $10 for adults and $7 for children 12 and under for Sunday s match. Tickets will only be sold at the East Lansing Soccer Complex. REMATCH Today s game will be a rematch of the June 1 game in which United won 1-0 on the road. Despite finishing with one fewer loss than they had wins, Fort Pitt won the Great Lakes East conference with 21 points. They are also in their first NPSL season. UNBEATEN STREAK Lansing United is currently on a seven-match unbeaten streak (not counting the friendly vs. San Marino). Its last loss was over a month ago, on July 8, against the Cincinnati Saints. LANSING CLIMBS IN RANKINGS Lansing United is No. 8 in this week s NPSL PUMA Power Rankings, released on July 17. It is the highest the club has been ranked in franchise history. Its opponent today, Fort Pitt, is ranked 15th. ATTENDANCE AVERAGE A total of 940 fans witnessed Lansing United advance to the regional final on Saturday night, while a record crowd of 2,014 witnessed United clinch the Great Lakes West against DCFC at DeMartin Stadium on July 13 afternoon. STATS OF NOTE Goalkeeper Zach finished with 38 saves in the regular season, including a seven save performance against the Indiana Fire on July 11, the most he made in a single-game. He recorded a shutout in one-third of the matches he appeared in this year. Defender Austin is the only player to start in all 15 games this season. The Olivet College product also has played in all 1350 minutes. Brian is the only other player to feature in all 15 games. Twenty-five different players who saw action in a Lansing United uniform listed 13 different schools as their previous clubs : Michigan State (4), Detroit Mercy (4), Spring Arbor (3), Western Michigan (3), Oakland (2), Wheaton College (2), Madonna (2), University of Michigan (1), Colgate (1), Olivet College (1), Northwood (1), Northern Illinois (1), and Saginaw Valley State (1). Canadian international Tyler has only played in 10 games but is making a big impact offensively. He s scored three goals and has six assists in a United uniform to go along with 35 shots. After going nearly the entire season without a goal from the defense, three of the last eight United goals have came from members of the backline. Cody Achibald has two of them -- he scored against the Indiana Fire on July 11 and once Saturday night.
