Cycling SA a brief overview Cycling South Africa is recognised as the official federation and governing body of Cycling in SA CSA is affiliated to the controlling body of sport in SA, the South African Sports Confederation and Olympic Committee (SASCOC) as well as Government s Department of Sports and Recreation We are a member of the International Cycling Federation UCI, as well as the African Confederation of Cycling CAC CSA regulates the 5 major disciplines within the sport (professional and amateur): Road cycling Track cycling Mountain biking BMXing and Paracycling

Summary Participation and Growth 526 000 active cyclists in SA 82 000 individual participants in events Bucked the trend, showing +ve growth Scope to improve club/support structures ~1/3 of participants are female 66% below the age of 35 (good coverage across the spectrum) Largely LSM 7 10 but lower LSM market showing good growth
