2008 SADDLE-UP BENEFIT TRAIL RIDE Ride to benefit Cancer and Multiple Sclerosis Research and Cures and the Chapman Kansas Relief (tornado disaster relief) The Flint Hills Riders Club is hosting the 2008 Saddle-Up Trail Ride along with Cowboy Way Ranch and Vacations, LLC Come socialize with fellow riders for a weekend of trails, open prairies and beautiful scenery. Not to mention: Food, Musical Entertainment, Awards and Prizes! Join us on OCTOBER 10, 11, and 12th The ranch opens at noon on Friday, October 10th for riders to register and set up camp. The trail ride itself begins Saturday morning and, after a day of riding, returns to camp for dinner, live musical entertainment by Red River Special, an awards ceremony and a give-a-way! Ride concludes with a Sunday morning ride. Camp breaks at 3:00 p.m. The ride is cordially hosted by Cowboy Way Ranch and Vacation Resort, near Westmoreland, Kansas. It will be set on a beautiful 1,000+ acres of rolling prairie and over 100 established campsites. There will be three trails available. A Beginner s, An Intermediate and a more experienced rider s trail with a Wrangler guide for every one! Saturday registration starts at 6:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Saturday breakfast will be available starting at 6:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. with a menu of biscuits and gravy, juices and coffee. Saturday evening meal includes smoked BBQ chicken, Creek Bank Potatoes, Baked Beans, Dessert and various drinks. Saturday dinner is from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Sunday breakfast starts at 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. and will be continental type with juices and coffee. Cowboy Church is available from 9:00 to 9:30 a.m. See Reverse for rules and additional information

Rules of the Ride 1. Management reserves the right to qualify each rider s ability and to excuse any rider from the Black Trail and the Blue Trail if believed to be beyond their skill level. 2. Rider must be an experienced rider to ride on the Black Trail and have a spook free horse. 3. Riders must be 18 yrs or older. All riders under 18 must be accompanied by a parent, legal guardian or chaperone in camp and on the ride. No minors may be left unattended. 4. Rider must be 18 yrs or older to ride the Black Trail, and the Blue Trail. 5. Alcoholic beverages are not allowed on the trails. 6. No rough riding or running/racing is permitted. 7. No Stallions are permitted. 8. No dogs or other pets are permitted unless approved by management. Dogs and other pets are not permitted on trails or in camp. Pets must be contained or on a leash at all times. 9. No double riding, unless approved by management. 10. No motorized vehicles (ATV s, motorbikes, mopeds, scooters, etc.) on the trails. 11. Riders must be able to ride without assistance of others. 12. To warn other riders, a horse that is prone to kicking MUST wear a red ribbon on the top of it s tail. 13. Horse(s) treated for illness or injury at the trail ride or those deemed unfit to participate will be marked with a unique identification so they are not allowed on the trails. 14. Riders are strongly encouraged to have your horse(s) shod at least on the fronts. 15. No horse will be allowed on the premises without a current negative coggins dated within the last 12 months of the ride. Out of State horses will ALSO require a health certificate by a licensed Veterinarian dated within 14 days of the ride. 16. No ponied or loose horses (including foals) on the trails. If horse needs to be ponied it will need to approved by management. 17. No firearms. 18. No fireworks. 19. All riders must provide management with a signed liability release waiver prior to ride. 20. Payment for Veterinarian and Farrier services will be required at time of service and non-paying clients will be forced to leave the grounds. 21. In case of emergency, immediately contact the Trail Boss. 22. Please observe trail etiquette. 23. Everyone must make their own arrangements for horse(s) transportation, equipment, feed and water. 24. No horses near water edge or approaching cattle. 25. Harassment of any type will not be allowed. Offenders will be forced to leave the grounds. 26. Leave camp ground clean. No littering or intoxication on and off the trail. 27. Each should carry identification and emergency phone number(s). 28. Waivers for participants under 18 must be signed by parent or legal guardian. 29. Riders will need to walk horses while in camp. 30. All riders will need to stay behind the Lead Security person at all times while on the trails. Security will be in place and will be enforcement of the Rules. Paramedics on ATV s will be available to access sick or injured horses or riders on the trails. A Rescue Trailer will be available to transport injured or sick horses back to camp.

A nonfundable registration fee of $45 for individuals and $100 for families (includes two breakfast meals and Saturday evening dinner) per rider/non-rider must accompany this form. The day of the trail ride please bring A SIX PACK OR 12 PACK OF BOOST (nutritional drink) for the Cancer patients. The first 350 registrations received will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Feel free to send along a copy of your coggins papers with a photo of each horse to attach to your registration. Do bring originals with you.
