1 Water Regulator Adjustment IMPORTANT- When installing multiple Units, Use the assembly packed with the appliance to keep mating parts together. Make the Hot water connection for the cooker and then follow the steps to adjust the water flow at the mixing valve. The flow will be full on for the fill knob, and 1/2 Gal. per minute on the cook reheat knob. 2 The components, Needle Valve (B), Regulator (C), and Pressure Gauge (D), are located just inside the rear bottom brace of the unit. Sufficient water line will be needed to access the components and check the water flow as the unit will need to be pulled away out from the normal operating position. The needle valve, (B), should have been preset at the factory but if adjustment is required follow the additional steps in these instructions, or contact the factory. 4 L80-101 Rev 0, November 2011
3 Prior to turning on the water supply, ensure that both control knobs on the mixing valve are in the closed position, and the regulator is set to No Flow. To close the mixing valve, turn both knobs CW until they stop. To set the regulator to No flow, loosen the locknut, (C2), and do not retighten at this time. Turn the adjustment screw, (C1), CCW to release pressure on the regulator spring, Do not allow the screw to come completely out of the regulator. 4 Open the pressure gauge vent, (D1), and turn on the water supply to the appliance to set the water pressure to 10 PSI. To set the water pressure, turn the adjustment screw,(c1), on the regulator CW until the indicator on the gauge is pointing to 10. Check for any water leaks and repair as needed prior to continuing. The flow of the Cook/Reheat water line needs to be set to 1/2 Gal./Min. at this time. Ensure the tank drain is closed, then fully open the Cook/Reheat knob by turning it CCW until it stops. Water should be flowing into the tank, and the pressure reading on the gauge should drop to about 6 PSI. 5 5 L80-101 Rev 0, November 2011
6 7 With the water flowing, adjust the regulator screw, (C1), until the pressure is 6 PSI on the pressure gauge. Then use the graduated pitcher to measure 1/2 gal. of water into the tank. The allowable time to measure the 1/2 gal. of water is 50-70 secs. If the required flow is not achieved in this time frame adjust the regulator +/- 1 PSI as needed and recheck until the flow is correct. Once the flow is correct, retighten the locknut, (C2), on the regulator. Additional Step if required NOTE: If the needle valve requires adjustment it is important to maintain the regulator pressure setting of 6 PSI +/- 1 PSI while water is flowing. If you cannot get the required flow with adjusting the regulator +/- 1 PSI, you can adjust the factory preset needle valve, (B). Adjust the needle valve by loosening the locknut, (B2), and turning the valve knob, (B1), CW to decrease flow, or CCW to increase flow. Adjust the needle valve no more than a 1/4 turn at a time. Measure the flow after each adjustment. Tighten locknut after adjustment is completed. N o t e : When the desired water flow is achieved, reinstall any parts that were removed during the procedure and finish installing the appliance in accordance with the operations and service manuals. 6 L80-101 Rev 0, November 2011
