The Warhawks have an 8-1 record in home non-conference play dating back to the start of the 2013-14 season. ULM defeated Louisiana College in the 2013-14 opener, 92-52, after only facing off with the school twice since 1992. That victory also gave ULM its 300th in Fant-Ewing Coliseum history. The Warhawks hold a 9-7 series advantage primarily spread out through the late 1970s and early 80s. The Warhawks last season finished third in the Sun Belt in free-throw percentage (71.2 percent) and in field goal percentage defense (38.1). ULM Name Usage We are ULM. Please note that there are only two correct versions of our institution s name, the preferred acronym ULM and the full name, the University of Louisiana at Monroe. Any other reference, including Louisiana-Monroe, UL-Monroe, La.-Monroe, LAM, or simply Monroe, are incorrect. Additionally, all women s athletic teams are known simply as Warhawks -- not Lady Warhawks or Lady Hawks.

Talon Scratches Coaching Legends ULM could very easily be the only school, women s basketball or any other sport, to have two coaches on the same staff who are both number retirees of the school. E.J. Ok was a two-time All-American and four-time Southland Conference Player of the Year during her illustrous 1982-1986 campaigns, the golden era of ULM women s basketball. She helped guide the team to the 1985 Final Four with everything from her jump shot to finger roll layup to acrobatic passes. They can still be found on YouTube today. Ok has her number banner hanging in the rafters at Fant-Ewing Coliseum, while Stan Humphries has his in between the upper and lower decks at football s Malone Stadium across the street. He went onto a standout NFL quarterback career after leading ULM to the 1987 I-AA national title. He played in two Super Bowls in his NFL career, winning one with the Washington Redskins, and he eventually was inducted into the San Diego Chargers Hall of Fame. The Humphries Connection Assistant coach Stan Humphries is one of two ULM football alumni to have his number retired. He went onto a standout NFL quarterback career, winning a Super Bowl with the Washington Redskins and eventually being inducted into the San Diego Chargers Hall of Fame. Sophomore guard Chelsea Tieuel attended Humphries high school, Southwood, in Shreveport. Junior forward Stephanie Ratliff s father also played for the Philadelphia Eagles in 1977. Home Sweet Monroe Sophomore guard/forward Daja Chase had an impressive freshman season after a great career at Ouachita Parish High School. The previous four years before Chase arrived on campus, two of ULM s consistent starting lineup fixtures were Alexar and Elexar Tugler, twins out of Carroll High School in town. Road Warriors Chase last year had her two best rebounding games on the road last season, 10 at both Troy and South Alabama. It allowed the 5 10 Warhawk to average 6.6 boards per game in Sun Belt play alone, good enough for the top-10 in the league. She had just 2.4 per game in non-conference play. Alayshia Hunter took full advantage of her time off the bench, originally battling for playing time against eventual All- Sun Belt performer Sharnice Brooks. Hunter still finished seventh in the Sun Belt in blocks per game (1.2) and field goal percentage (47.8). She had a career-high 22 points last season at perennial league contender Arkansas State and also had back-to-back season-high 12-rebound performances at South Alabama and at Appalachian State. Positive Strides Jeff Dow s first year at ULM certainly left Warhawk fans looking up. The 2014-15 squad had its most conference and overall wins since the 2011-12 season, with several contests decided in the final minute. ULM s final RPI even topped schools from the Pac-12 and Big East. ULM Record When... #TheGame The ULM women s basketball team will square off against Louisiana College in an uncommon 11 a.m. Friday start. Students from Monroe and Rayville and Caldwell, Morehouse and Union Parishes will be in attendance. #NewBeginnings The Warhawks made big strides in Jeff Dow s first year at the helm of the program, getting their most overall and conference wins since 2011-12. The team returns a core group of starters and bench players who will all get increased roles. The recruiting class also brought in 6 3 junior college transfer Stephanie Ratliff and talented freshmen that include Jamie Gibson, a projected starter. #TheOpponent Louisiana College makes the trip from Pineville, located in the very middle of the state, for their season opener. The Lady Cats bring back two letterwinners from last year after also losing Neka Jones, the American Southwest Conference s all-time leader in made three-pointers. #TheSeries ULM holds a 9-7 advantage all-time against Louisiana College. The two teams have met just twice since 1992. #LastTimeVsLC MONROE, La. ULM used a balanced attack, with four players reaching double figures, to pick up the program s 300th win inside Fant-Ewing Coliseum in a 92-52 victory over Louisiana College on Monday evening. Both Ashleigh Simmons and Sharnice Brooks had 16 points for ULM to lead the team in scoring. The 16 points were a career-high for Brooks, who went 7-of-10 from the field. They were joined in double figures by Jasmine Shaw (12) and Alayshia Hunter (11). Brooks also led the Warhawks with nine rebounds, falling just one board shy of her first career double-double. Alexar Tugler added eight boards and Simmons added another seven. The primary difference in the game came inside the paint, where ULM s major height advantage led to a 62-6 point differential. ULM also held a 22-9 advantage in second-chance points. #LastGame Just like with the last meeting between ULM and Louisiana College, the last trip to the court for the Warhawks was a special one, especially with emotions considered. Sharnice Brooks could not be stopped as the senior notched her third double-double of the season with a career-high 33 points and 11 boards to will the ULM women s basketball team to a thrilling 90-84 overtime victory against Texas State Saturday afternoon on Senior Day in Fant-Ewing Coliseum. Brooks sank 10 of her 19 field goal attempts and went 13-for-15 from the charity stripe on her way to her game-high points total, which is the first time a Warhawk has scored more than 30 points since Ashleigh Simmons had 34 points over Ole Miss on Nov. 26, 2013. Brooks also added three assists and three blocks in 37 minutes. #TeamLeaders Alayshia Hunter is the leading returning scorer from 2014-15, averaging 9.3 ppg. Daja Chase and Chelsea Tieuel were right behind at 7.6 and 7.1, respectively. The boards were more of the same with Hunter bringing her 6.2 rpg into the 2015-16 campaign and Chase following with 5.5. Aundrea Davis had a team-high 64 assists at the point guard spot while Chase had 60 in her hybrid role of post and guard. They alone accounted for over a third of the team s total in that category. #InGameUpdates Live Stats: ulm.statbroadcast.com Video: Warhawk All-Access UNIVERSITY INFORMATION Name... April 17, 2015) Coaching Staff Jeff Dow is in his second season at the helm of the ULM women s basketball program. Dow, who holds an all-time head coaching record of 226-106 (.681), put forth a solid first impression in his first year in Monroe, leading the Warhawks to their most overall and conference wins since the 2010-11 campaign. He was also one of the most successful coaches in Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP) history, compiling a five-year record of 108-40 (.729) from 2008-13 at the helm. Dow guided the Crimson Hawks to the NCAA Tournament three times and won the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) championship in 2009. His last team posted a 23-9 record in 2012-13. In 2010-11, Dow led the IUP to a record of 19-8, 11-3 in the PSAC West and an appearance in the PSAC Quarterfinals. IUP ranked first in the PSAC in scoring defense at 56.0 points per game and was ranked 19th in the country in that category. The Crimson Hawks also led the PSAC in turnover margin and finished 4th nationally for that statistic. Dow coached the Crimson Hawks to a No. 7 ranking in the WBCA Coaches Poll in 2008-09. He also got them to No. 19 in 2009-10, No. 17 in 2011-12 and No. 12 in 2012-13. In the postseason, Dow garnered first round victories in the 2009, 2012 and 2013 NCAA Division II tournaments. Dow went to IUP from Anderson University (S.C.) where he tallied a record of 79-17 and his teams earned trips to the East Region tournament each season. In his three years at the helm (2005-08), Dow was one of just eight head coaches to lead his program to at least one NCAA Division II tournament victory in three consecutive years. He led Anderson to two Conference Carolinas regular season titles and one postseason championship. Dow held an astounding 52-8 record in conference play and also posted a 40-2 home record in three seasons. In his final season at Anderson in 2007-08, the program finished top-10 in the country in win-loss percentage, scoring defense, rebound margin and scoring margin and was ranked as high as No. 12 in the WBCA national poll before finishing the year at No. 19. For his team s accomplishments, Dow was selected the Conference Carolinas Coach of the Year. Prior to Anderson, Dow held the No. 1 assistant coaching positions at Colorado State (2002-05), Santa Clara (2000-02), UC-Irvine (1996-99) and New Mexico State (1992-96).
