Club Meeting SLC Screening of Basque Documentary Salt Lake City will hold a screening of the documentary Basques in the West featuring our club members, Jaime and Madalena Sangroniz. The screening will be held on April 12 at 7 pm at the Salt Lake Public Library. The cost is $10. The story line encompasses a brief history of the Basques and their immigration to the American West from Spain and France. The film brings to life the resolute determination of the Basque people to succeed in their adopted country and how they as a community supported one another. It is worth seeing again and again. At the Salt Lake City screening, we will be honoring the Sangroniz family for their participation in making this documentary such a success. For more info, you may contact Cirbie Sangroniz. Cooking Club We are still hoping to restart the Basque Club of Utah Cooking Club. The chair, Monique Flesher, reports that we have had very few applications sent in regarding cooking group membership Anyone who is interested and has not yet sent back the signed membership agreement, please send it in as soon as possible. Please make sure to mark your calendars so that you remember to volunteer to work in the booth. Please contact Mary Gaztimbide and let her know when you can work. We will need volunteers to make the churro dough on Friday morning, to load up the trailer, set up downtown, work the booth, break down the booth on Sunday evening and clean up on Monday.
