Gates to parking lot will close at 6:30 to begin line up for parade. Fireworks to close the night! Homecoming Pep Rally- Cheer our team for the win! 7:00-10:00 PM 8 th period Pep Rally Saturday September 3 rd Homecoming Game- Go out and support our Football team at the SAC. SIGNAGE FOR FLOAT/ENTRY: All vehicles must have signage about what school or business they represent for the judges to identify the float/entry/vehicle. Signage needs to be on the front and back or sides of the vehicle. IMPORTANT Drivers of vehicles in the parade must have a copy of their certificate of vehicle insurance coverage and a valid driver s license. Montwood High School s Homecoming Parade Information, Rules & Tips for Success Party Out Of This World! Montwood High School is excited to celebrate the spirit and tradition with the third annual Montwood High School Homecoming Parade. Our goal is to raise pride and spirit and bring the entire community together! The following guidelines are what we must to keep this parade a great success! Professional-looking signage is required and needs to be at the front of the entry and on the left side of the entry. We can provide names of local sign companies if you prefer to have them made, but hand-made, clearly visible signage is fine. All entries must have an adult and licensed driver to represent each entry. Each float/car/truck must have AT LEAST 2 people for passenger cars and 4 people for all other vehicles walking around the sides of the vehicle to ensure the safety of everyone involved if participants are inside back of truck, on float, etc. These people will be responsible for making sure the spectators do not get too close to the vehicle. Operators (drivers) of motorized or non-motorized vehicles may not throw any item or items from a moving vehicle. Operators (drivers) of motorized or non-motorized vehicles may not talk or text on their cell phone during the course of the parade. Participants must keep all body parts within the confines of the vehicle or float. Dangling feet over the edge of the vehicle is prohibited. Parade participants should in no way encourage spectators to leave the curb or move into the street for any reason. Participants are prohibited from stepping or jumping onto or off of any parade apparatus, moving or stopped, during the course of the parade. Open-flame devices are prohibited on parade floats. The use of fuel-fired torches, candles, grills or similar devices that serve as potential ignition sources are prohibited. Each parade apparatus, excluding unmodified vehicles with no trailer in tow, is required to have at least one portable fire extinguisher rate Type A/B/C that shall be in working order with all handles, hoses, and pull-ins intact and a pressure gauge indicating the device is fully charged. Hard or pointed objects such as pens, pencils, etc., are prohibited. Those who do not comply may be removed from the parade. Montwood High School staff, Student Council, and SISD Police will be on site to assist in the coordination of the parade organization and will be able to direct you to your exact spot in the line-up. Please don t hesitate to ask for assistance if needed or if you have any questions. Please remember that SAFETY is our #1 CONCERN during the parade. Please keep this in mind while planning and constructing your float and also during the parade.
Montwood High School Homecoming Parade Route Line-up begins at 6:30 PM. Parade starts at 7 Parade will begin at West side parking exit, off of Bob Mitchell Dr. at 7:00 PM Floats will park in assigned spot in numerical order in west side parking. Line up begins at 6:30. Do not be late At conclusion of parade, floats will park in front parking off of Montwood. Directed by Officers and Security. Parade will continue through the East side parking exit, off of Firehouse Dr. to come in to parking lot and be judged. Floats will continue to travel through parking lot from East side to front to assigned parking.

Join your club and come decorate the halls for homecoming from 4:30 8 pm on Friday August 26 th & Saturday August 27 th from 8:00 am 12:00 pm. Hallway judging will take place Monday morning. Materials must be provided by the organization or sport team. Butcher paper is available, just come by the student council room, A118. Decorations must be appropriate and comply with school and district policies Decorations must not block any; Doors, Fire alarms, Cameras, fire extinguishers, lights or defibrillators Students may not write on the wall Students may not decorate any other time except for designated times Decorations may cover only 20% of the wall and must leave 8 inches on the top uncovered Please plan to have decorations made and ready prior to Monday, so your time can be focused on putting up your decorations rather than created them on the day of.
Homecoming Dance! Saturday, September 3 rd, 2015 8:00pm - 12:00am in the Tony Harper Gym $25 Pre-Sale tickets $30 at the door with school ID ID s must be displayed upon purchase. TICKETS GO ON SALE! August 15 th IN THE MORNING, LUNCH AND AFTERSCHOOL SEMI-FORMAL ATTIRE REQUIRED Gentlemen: are expected to wear a suit, or slacks, with a dress shirt, and shoes. NO JEANS, t-shirts, or head wear. Ladies: are expected to wear semi formal or formal dresses that are appropriate and covers your feminine areas. NO JEANS, t-shirts, or head wear. Students are expected to dance respectfully for a school dance and not in a distasteful manner. Obscene dancing is not allowed. Students will be dismissed from the dance if they act or dress inappropriately.
