Southwest Deaf Bowling Association (SWDBA) Rules & Regulation 1. This tournament is Moral Support Sanctioned by the UNITED STATES BOWLING CONGRESS. 2. USBC and non-usbc members may enter this tournament with high score recognition automatically extended to USBC members. Eligible non-league bowlers can qualify for high score recognition at their option by paying a $21.00 fee for which the Congress will issue an associate membership card. 3. Prizes for Team and Doubles will be awarded on a handicap basis of 100% of 200. Handicap will be figured by each bowler. 4. ALL PRIZES FEES RETURNED 100%. The prize ratio is: 1 to 4 for Team and Doubles. 1 to 6 for All-Events. 5. All handicaps will be computed under the following average rule, based on USBC leagues participation. Re-rating requirement of USBC Rule 319c or SWDBA Re-rating System and Rules 319a-3 and 319d shall apply: a. Entrants will use their highest USBC sanctioned league average based on minimum 21 games for the 2016-2017 season b. If current 21 games average as of March 1, 2017, is 10 or more pins above 2015-2016 season s average, current average must be used. If no average as last year, use highest current USBC sanctioned average, 21 games or more, as of March 1, 2017. All others bowl scratch. c. Minimum league average of 140 pins over 21 games must be used for men and 120 to women. d. Bowlers bowling in more than one league must submit the highest average of any league. e. Members who have neither a current average of 21 games, nor an average from last year, may enter and bowl at 200/170 average of his tournament average, whichever is higher. 6. A team must have at least one man and at least one woman. Doubles partners must come from the same team. 7. Substitutes or any other changes in the original schedule must be given the Tournament Director one hour prior to schedule time to bowl. A substitute shall not participate in the ALL EVENTS CLASS unless he bowls all two (2) events as a substitute for the same men for whom he is substituting. 8. In each event, the three games will be bowled on one pair of lanes. In the event of a mechanical failure, it is agreed that the bowlers affected shall be moved to the next available pair of lanes. 9. No blind score shall be permitted in case of absent bowlers. In the event a player is tardy, he/she will be permitted to start in the frame being bowled with zero (0) being given for each frame missed. 10. All participants in this tournament must be member of SWDBA and pay $15.00 membership fees in addition to the entry fees. 11. The individual bowler will be required to verify his own average on the average verification form. All averages of bowler placing in the prize money list will be checked with the City Association Secretaries prior to the times 1 P age

the prizes are awarded. Misrepresentation of the averages by the team captain will forfeit all right to prizes in the tournament, and there will be no refund of entry fees. Further, bowler who mispresent averages shall be subject to USBC membership suspension penalties. If two-man entry cannot be certified as outlined above, both contestants must similarly certify the averages shown, with the same penalties and winner of $600.00 or over per event within 12 months must be reported to the Secretary. (See Rule 319a & 319d) 13. All prizes shall be distributed within 30 days after the close of the tournament. 14. No bowler shall practice on the tournament lanes within 30 minutes before his time to bowl. 15. Ex-PBA (Professional Bowling Association) bowlers shall wait at least three (3) years before being allowed to bowl all events in the SWDBA Tournament. However, PBA bowlers are permitted to bowl in the Master only. 16. The four-bowlers team event shall be bowled on one pair of lanes. Five (5) minutes will be permitted for practice. If there are more than one squad in doubles event the same five (5) minutes practice session will be permitted. 17. The Tournament shall be held on Friday and Saturday. The Senior Handicap Classic and Master Qualifying Rounds and brackets shall be bowled on Friday. Seniors may participate in both events. Qualifying scores shall be the same for both events if enter both events. 18. The Handicap Classic Qualifying Round, Rounds, and Stepladder shall be bowled Friday following the conclusion of the Senior Handicap and Masters. The Team and Doubles Events shall start Saturday morning. The Team Players Double Event shall be bowled after the end of Teams events. 19. The contestants will be assigned lanes randomized by the computer. SWDBA Team Event Tournament Rules 1. Entering average: (a) If no average last year, use highest current season USBC average at the time entry for 21 or more games. (b) Bowler with neither of the above shall be assigned averages of 200 for men and 170 for women. (c) If the current season s average of 21 or more games is 10 or more pins than last season s average, the current average must be used. 2. Handicap: All games will be included handicap of 100% of 200 with the unlimited minimum average. 3. Team will bowl three (3) games on the same pair of lanes. 4. The dress code should comply with the regulations and rules. SWDBA Doubles Event Tournament Rules 1. Entering average: (a) If no average last year, use highest current season USBC average at the time entry for 21 or more games. (b) Bowler with neither of the above shall be assigned averages of 200 for men and 170 for women. (c) If the current season s average of 21 or more games is 10 or more pins than last season s average, the current average must be used. 2. Handicap: All games will be included handicap of 100% of 200 with the unlimited minimum average. 3. Team will bowl three (3) games on the same pair of lanes. 4. The dress code should comply with the regulations and rules. SWDBA Masters Tournament Rules 1. No Handicap will be used in all games in this event. 2. PBA (Professional Bowlers Association) are allowed to participate in this event. 3. The bowler will bowl three games across three pairs of lanes in the Open Round. a. The top 50% (1 to 4 ratio) bowlers shall be advanced to the Rounds Play. 2 P age

b. Rounds Play Format In the first round of elimination, each bowler will bowl 2 games with handicap and the top 50% with highest scores of qualifying round and first round will advance to the second round. In the second round, the top 50% with the total scores of qualifying, first and second rounds will advance to next round or all subsequent rounds until start or quarterfinal (must be 16 bowlers) and semifinal, the bowler will bowl two (2) games until there are only four (4) bowlers remaining. c. Eliminator Format the final four (4) will use the eliminator system; the total scores from all previous rounds will not be included in the final four. All finalist will bowl one game each, the bowler with the lowest score will be eliminated. In case of a tie during the eliminator, the tied bowlers with lowest score will throw once on the right lane and the bowler who hits the most pins will be advanced. SWDBA Senior Handicap Classic Tournament Rules The Southwest Deaf Bowling Association Senior Handicap Classic Tournament is held in conjunction with the Annual SWDBA tournament and is conducted on handicap basis and is open to all SWDBA members. Those participating in the Senior Handicap Classic Tournament must be at least 50 years of age for both Men and Women. Purchase a combo ticket and pay SWDBA membership fee of $15.00 if the bowler is not participating in the SWDBA in all events. The tournament is conducted that qualifying round is limited to three games and top qualifiers depending on entries, will bowl in the rounds with single elimination system until final eight (8) bowlers then use the single-elimination bracket. The handicap system depends on ages. For the age of the age of 50 to 90 for Men & Women, 100% of 200 unlimited pins. Entry Fee $40.00 must be paid in full with entry form on or before the entry deadline by mail; or a combo ticket must be purchased. Last minute entries shall be accepted with a fee increase of $5.00 to $45.00 ($5.00 will be added to the prize fund) at the alley and entries shall close thirty (30) minutes before the start of qualifying round. The entry fee breakdown shall $25.00 prize fee: $9.00 bowling fee; and $6.00 tournament expenses. A larger or smaller entry will increase or decrease the prize fund. And this event shall start Friday morning. All games will be counted with handicap. Championship Game: (Game Three Winner) will bowl against No. 1 Note: All bowlers will bowl on the same pair of lanes in Stepladder Bracket Round. SWDBA Handicap Classic Tournament Rules 1. (b) Bowler with neither of the above shall be assigned averages of 200 for men and 170 for 3 P age

Handicap: All games will be included handicap of 100% of 200 with the unlimited minimum average. 3. The bowler will bowl three games across three pairs of lanes. And this event shall start Friday afternoon. All games will be counted with handicap. The top 25% (1 to 4 ratio) bowlers shall be advanced to the Rounds Play. a. Rounds Play Format In the first round of elimination, each bowler will bowl 2 games with handicap and the top 50% with highest scores of first round will advance to the second round. In the second round, the top 50% with the total scores of first and second round will advance to next round or all subsequent rounds until start of quarterfinal (must be 16 bowlers), the bowler will bowl two (2) games until there are only top eight (8) bowlers remaining. b. Stepladder Bracket Format the final eight (8) players will use the single-elimination bracket; the total scores from all previous rounds will not be included in the final eight. i. Championship Game: (Game Three Winner will bowl against No. 1 Note: All bowlers will bowl on the same pair of lanes in Stepladder Bracket Round. SWDBA Mel & Pat Doubles Classic Tournament Rules 1. Entering average: (a) no average last year, use highest current season USBC average at the time entry for 21 or more games. (b) Bowler with neither of the above shall be assigned average of 200 for men and 170 for women. (c) If the current season s average of 21 or more games is 10 or more pins than last season s average, the current average must be used. 2. Handicap: All games will be included handicap of 100% of 200 with unlimited minimum average. 3. The Team Scores will carry the scores in their double for Qualifying Format. a. Qualify Format The Qualifying Round will be used the carry score from the Team score. And shall start Saturday afternoon. All games will be counted with handicap. The top 25% (1 to 4 ratio) bowlers shall be advanced to the Rounds Play. b. Rounds Play Format In the first round of elimination, each bowler will bowl 2 games with handicap and the top 50% with highest scores of qualifying found and first round will advance to the second round. In the second round, the top 50% with the total scores of qualifying, first and second rounds will advance to next round or all subsequent rounds until start of quarterfinal (must be 16 bowlers) and semifinal, the bowler will bowl two (2) games until there are only eight (8) bowlers remaining. c. Stepladder Bracket Format the final eight (8) players will use the single-elimination bracket; the total scores from all previous rounds will not be included in the final eight. i. Game One: No. 8 will bowl against No. 7 and No. 6 ii. Game Two: (Game One Winner) will bowl against No. 5 and No. 4 iii. Game Three: (Game Two Winner) will bowl against No. 3 and No. 2 iv.
