Hockey 1st XI Photo contributed by Jacqueline Leonard. Thank you, Jacqueline. Back Row L-R: Doreen Dakers, Teresa Cosgrove, Mary Ellis, Miss. Musgrave, Mr. Hamilton, Jacqueline Leonard, Diana Wood, Carol Johns Front Row L-R: L. Cartledge, Ellen Toulson, Dilys Hughes, Carol Jordan, Janice Hellewell The hockey played by the 1st XI has been of a high standard, the defence combining well together and the forwards passing the ball wisely between them. As a result the attack has been excellent, scoring 49 goals and only conceding 18 goals. Team spirit and enthusiasm has been excellent and deserves special mention. Unfortunately the 2nd XI has had only one victory this season, this being due mainly to their failure to attend practices and to lack of enthusiasm. The juniors have shown great interest, and an U.14 XI was formed at the end of the season. Their enthusiasm is a promising sign of future success. Colours re-awarded to: D. Hughes, C. Jordan, J. Hellewell, D. Wood, E. Toulson. Colours awarded to: T. Cosgrove, J. Leonard, M. Ellis, I. Thorpe. Matches Played 12, Won 7, Lost 4, Drawn 1. Dilys A. Hughes (Captain)

Rowe, Miss Musgrave, Christine Kenyon, Margaret Wigham, Jackie Scott Front Row L-R: Pat Snookes, Ruth Horn, Doreen Dakers, Val Anderson, Susan Thorpe On the whole the U.15 XI have had a rather disappointing season, losing seven of their eight matches and drawing the eighth. From time to time, one or two members of the team were required to play for the second XI and this resulted in a very unsettled U.15 team. Owing to these constant changes, the standard of co-ordination needed in the team was not acquired. Even though results were discouraging they continued to play enthusiastically and their eagerness never faltered. Improvements were shown during the season, the last match resulting in a draw.

Price House girls outshone the opposing Houses in the Standards Competition by winning all sections. Eight girls have been elected to represent the Ackworth Area in the Yorkshire Schools Championships. We hope to take part in an Athletics meeting against Pontefract Girls' High School in July.
