Animals entered in the Beef Cattle classes must be in the Showground by 4pm on Monday 11th July. All animals must remain in the Showground until 4pm on Thursday, 14th July. Prize money may be forfeited by any Exhibitor not parading (if required) or leaving before the time stated above. This is a provisional timetable and may be subject to change. BEEF SHORTHORN The UK Beef Shorthorn Championships will be held at this year s Show. This section is run in accordance with the rules of the Beef Shorthorn Cattle Society and the Yorkshire Agricultural Society. See Reg. 66. The Beef Shorthorn Society is offering the Mohmar Trophy and cash prize of 1000, kindly sponsored by Highland Wagyu, to the exhibitor gaining the highest total of points from all of the qualifying shows throughout 2016. The Qualifying shows are the Royal Ulster Show, The Royal Highland Show, The UK Beef Shorthorn Championships at the Great Yorkshire Show, and the Royal Welsh Show. Please Note: Any class with insufficient entries may be combined and likewise, any class with very large entries forward, may be split. This section is run in accordance with the rules of the Aberdeen Angus Cattle Society and Yorkshire Agricultural Society. The use of blacking or any other colouring matter on Aberdeen Angus cattle is prohibited and the Judge is instructed to disqualify any animals so coloured. See Reg. 66. DAIRY CATTLE The Showground will be open for the acceptance of animals from 11am on Saturday 8th July unless a special arrangement has been made in advance. Animals entered in the Dairy Cattle classes must be in the Showground by 4pm on Monday 11th July. All animals must remain in the Showground until 4pm on Thursday, 14th July. DAIRY SHORTHORN This section is run in accordance with the rules of the Shorthorn Cattle Society of UK & Ireland and the Yorkshire Agricultural Society. NB: Exhibitors must be members of the Shorthorn Cattle Society of UK & Ireland. All cattle must be of Shorthorn colour, and contain a minimum of 25% Shorthorn blood. All cattle must be registered in Coates s Herd Book, or if coming from another Member State an officially approved herd book in that member state. Classes 160 & 163 may be split on age. See Reg. 67.
