The decision gave the club three straight victories, as well as a --0 mark in its last six contests. New Jersey won the season s series --0, including one overtime win. The Devils took a -0 lead on goals by Ilya Kovalchuk (), Petr Sykora and David Clarkson. Kovalchuk s second tally came with the man advantage and gave him a team-leading 9 on the season.
