Foxfield Medal Finals SATURDAY, OCTOBER 8, 2016 CLASS SPECIFICATIONS Class One: Nedra Diskant Memorial Equitation Challenge Entry Fee: $50.00 This class is open to Foxfield Medal Finalists only. Fences and course to simulate those to be used in the Medal finals. Fence heights 1.00M (3'3"). One horse only per finalist. Trophy and ribbons to tenth. Class Two: Foxfield Medal Finals A (~32 and over) or B (18 to ~ 31) Entry Fee: $150.00 To be judged on equitation over a course of 1.00M (3'3") fences. All riders will ride two rounds. Riders must ride for awards. Awards will be given to the top ten from each age group. Following that, the top ten overall will work off and compete for the Grand Championship. The scores from the first two rounds will be considered when judging the work-off and deciding the final results. The winner of the Grand Championship is ineligible to participate in any future Foxfield Medal Class. Perpetual trophy, Bronze trophy, and monogrammed dress sheet to First; monogrammed dress sheet to Second. Awards to Tenth.

Foxfield Medal Finals RULES AND GENERAL INFORMATION 1. EVERY CLASS OFFERED HEREIN WHICH IS COVERED BY THE RULES AND SPECIFICATIONS OF THE CURRENT USEF RULE BOOK WILL BE CONDUCTED AND JUDGED IN ACCORDANCE THEREWITH. 2. Life, senior active and junior active members shall be eligible to participate in all classes at Regular Competitions, Eventing Competitions at the Preliminary Level or above and Combined Driving Competitions at the Advanced Level, Dressage, Reining and Vaulting Competitions and Endurance Rides. A nonmember may participate as a handler, rider, driver, owner, lessee, agent, coach or trainer at Regular Competitions, Eventing Competitions, Dressage Competitions, Reining Competitions and Combined Driving Competitions upon payment of a $30 nonmember registration fee. Participants in the following classes are exempted from the Requirements of this rule: 1) leadline; 2) exhibitions; 3) games and races; 4) classes for 4-H members; 5) walk trot and academy classes (academy classes are classes limited to horses used regularly in a lesson program); 6) USDF introductory level tests, pas de deux and quadrille classes; 7) NRHA Endorsed Reining Competitions; 8) Opportunity classes. 9) citizens of other nations who have proof, in English, of current membership in good standing of their own National Federation, 10) USEA beginner novice division; and 11) assistant handlers in Dressage Sport Horse Breeding classes. 3. Foxfield reserves the right to itself, to interpret all questions and conditions in regard to, or arising out of, or incident to, the Foxfield Medal Finals without claims for damages or recourse of any kind. Any questions covered in the rules shall be decided by Foxfield, their decision to be final. 4. Foxfield reserves the right to itself to refuse, accept conditionally, or to cancel any entries, disqualify any riders or exhibitors, prohibit exhibition of entries, and cancel award prizes, without claim for damages. 5. Every horse entered for competition will comply with the rules of the Foxfield Medal Finals, but Foxfield will in no case be responsible for any loss or damage that may occur. The event, its directors and employees, and the officials and employees of Foxfield shall be blameless for any loss or accident to horse(s), employee(s) or equipment which may occur from sickness, fire, or otherwise. 6. All owners and exhibitors shall be responsible for any damage incurred by them, their agents or employees to stalls, buildings and other properties on the show grounds and shall be billed accordingly. 7. Any rider, driver, handler, vaulter, longeur, exhibitor, owner, agent, trainer or the parent of a junior exhibitor, or any Life, Senior or Junior member present at the competition may file a protest with the Show Committee of a Licensed Competition or The Federation Hearing Committee alleging violation of any Federation rule(s). The cost of filing a protest is $200 for USEF members, $300 for non-members. 8. Entries close September 23, 2016. 9. No refunds without Vet Certificate from closing date to October 1, 2016. $50.00 office fee on all refunds. After October 1, 2016, no refunds will be issued! 10. After closing date, a post entry fee of $50.00 per horse will be accepted upon approval of management if paid by noon, October 1, 2016. 11. Foxfield Riding School is closed to all schooling two weeks prior to the Foxfield Medal Finals. Schooling during the competition will be permitted only in the designated Schooling Area. Schooling jumps must be jumped in the direction in which they are flagged (red flag on right). 12. POLING is illegal in the State of California. 13. On Saturday Class One order of go will be posted at the Horse Show Office. Drawing for order of go for Class Two will take place at 9:00 AM at the judges stand. Staff will draw for you if you are not present. 14. Checks returned by the bank for any reason are regarded as a most serious offense and will be handled in the following manner: $50.00 will be assessed for each returned check. Accounts must be paid in full in cash or cash equivalent within 10 days or they will be turned into the USEF and PCHA for further disciplinary action. 15. NO DOGS ALLOWED. Any exhibitors, owners or spectators with dogs will be asked to leave. 16. There will be food and beverage available on the grounds. 17. All jumper areas are sand. Warm-up Ring (-100' X 200'), Main Ring (-100' X 200"), Cross Country Field (-400' X 600'). 18. Limited stalls are available at $100 per night. Stall requests must be included on the entry form. Portable stalls are of canvas construction, 9'6" X 9'6" with doors. Bedding is included. 19. No arrivals before Friday, October 7, 2016. The facilities at Foxfield are closed to any schooling whatsoever. 20. A luncheon honoring the Foxfield Medal Finalists will take place on Saturday, October 8th, poolside at the Postel's home. Each finalist will be given a complimentary luncheon ticket. Additional tickets are available at $20.00 each and can be ordered on the entry form or by calling the Horse Show Office (805/495-5515) by October 1st. 21. Minors who do not have a valid driver s license which allows them to operate a motorized vehicle in the state in which they reside will not be permitted to operate a motorized vehicle of any kind, including, but not limited to, golf carts, motorcycles, scooters, or farm utility vehicles, on the competition grounds of licensed competitions. Minors who have a valid temporary license may operate the above described motorized vehicles as long as they are accompanied by an adult with a valid driver s license. The parent (s), legal guardian (s), or individual who signs the entry blank as a parent or guardian of a minor operating a motorized vehicle in violation of this rule are solely responsible for any damages, claims, losses or actions resulting from that operation. Violations of this rule will be cause for sanctions against the parent(s), guardian(s) and/or trainer(s) who are responsible for the child committing the offense. Penalties may include exclusion of the child, parent(s), guardian(s), and/or trainer(s) from the competition grounds for the remainder of the competition and charges being filed against any of the above individuals in accordance with Chapter 6. Wheelchairs and other mobility assistance devices for individuals with disabilities are exempt from this rule.
