Wolf, GFRR) ESTOWN: The Blue Jays (10-8 Overall; 5-1 WDA) dropped both of their team matches at the state tournament last week in Grand Forks. Jamestown lost in the quarterfinals to 17-time defending champion GF Red River, 5-0, before getting edged 3-2 by Williston in consolation play. In the individual tournament, three Blue Jay players competed in singles. Eric DeBoer posted a 1-2 record. After losing his opening match he rebounded with a win in consolation before falling in his third match. Tanner Lunzman also went 1-2. After an opening loss, he won his next before losing in consolation play. Connor Mullowney fell in both of his matches. The Blue Jays had one doubles team compete. Beck was just one of two WDA players to win his first match. After a loss in the quarterfinals, Beck won his next two before falling to Mandan s Erik Porter in the consolation championship. He posted a 3-2 tourney record. In doubles play, the pair of Brian Swanberg-Michael Janes posted a 3-1 record and finished third. They won their first two matches before a loss in the semifinals. In the individual tournament, Minot had two doubles teams participate. The pair of Cody Reynolds-Conor Taney went 1-2. After a first round loss, the team picked up a win in consolation play before losing a second time. The team of Ty Nygaard-Connor Templeton also went 1-2. TURY: The Patriots (8-12 Overall; 1-5 WDA) ended their season at the West Region Tournament in Bismarck. Century lost to Minot in a state-qualifying match, 3-2. The Patriots fell to Jamestown, 4-1, in the quarterfinals and then topped, 5-0, in loser-out play. Century s streak of consecutive state tournament appearances ended at six years. In the individual tournament, the doubles team of Peyton Kerzmann-Ronak Kumar finished third and qualified for state. ESTOWN: The Blue Jays (10-6 Overall; 5-1 WDA) will compete this week in the N.D. State Tournament in Grand Forks. Jamestown, the No. 4W seed, will meet 17- time defending state champion G.F. Red River in the quarterfinals on Thursday, Oct. 1. Last week, the Blue Jays earned their first ND State Tournament team appearance since 2000 and its first since joining the WDA in 2006. Jamestown defeated Mandan, 3-2, in a state qualifying match last week at the West Region Tournament in Bismarck. Jamestown opened with a 4-1 win over region defending champion Century before falling to Legacy, 3-2, in the semifinals. In the individual tournament, three singles players and one doubles team qualified for the state tournament. Eric DeBoer finished third singles, defeating teammate Tanner Lunzman in the third place match. Connor Mullowney placed sixth. In doubles, the team of Jake Reuther-Kelton Beedy finished eighth. Senior T. Lunzman was nominated for region senior athlete of the year. Lunzman also was named to the all-wda team. Pat Mullowney was named region coach of the year. ACY: The Sabers (15-3 Overall; 5-1 WDA) will participate this week in the N.D. State Tournament in Grand Forks. Legacy will face meet Fargo Davies, the E4 seed, in a quarterfinal. Legacy finished sixth last season. Last week the Sabers won their first-ever West Region Tournament title last week, defeating Williston, 3-2 in the title match. Legacy opened the tournament with a 4-1 win over Bismarck High and then defeated Century, 3-2, in the semifinals.
