THE CIRCUS OF THE BODY Anonymous/ adapted by Mrs Christine Wright Sutherland Shire Christian School NARRATOR: Once a year something wonderful happens. The circus comes to town! It s a colourful parade, high flying acrobats, delightful animals and hilarious clowns make everyone feel happy! Ladies and gentlemen step right up and hear all about it. (Circus props are put into place and audience moves into position) ALL: The circus is coming! The circus is coming! The circus is coming! MUSIC(The Ringmaster and acrobats, clowns and jugglers enter. They do their actions then leave. Audience clap in time to music and cheer when they leave)music FADES RINGMASTER: Welcome one and all to the wonderful, the amazing, the stupendous CIRCUS OF THE BODY! Today we have many amazing acts for you to see. Please welcome the unbelievable MR NOSE! (Crowd cheer, Mr Nose enters smelling everything around him) RINGMASTER: Mr Nose what can you do that is so special?

MR NOSE: I can smell food and flowers but I can also smell smoke to warn others of danger. I can small sweet, stinky, sour, sweaty and fruity smells. RINGMASTER: Yes sireee Mr Nose is very special. Another great big cheer for Mr Nose! (Mr Nose stand to one side of ring) RINGMASTER: Now please welcome the amazing Miss Ears! (Enter Miss Ears pretending to hear things) Miss Ears what can you do that is so special? MISS EARS: I can hear very quiet sounds like whispering and I can hear loud sounds like cars and trucks on the road and I can hear animal noises and people talking. I can hear sounds that are loud, soft, high, low and noisy. RINGMASTER: Yes sireee, Miss Ears is very special. Another great big cheer for Miss Ears! (Miss Ears stands to one side of ring) RINGMASTER: Please welcome the amazing Mr Tongue!

(Enter Mr Tongue licking everything) What can you do that is so special? MR TONGUE: I can taste sweet things like icecream and lollies and bitter things like lemons and hot and cold drinks as well. I can taste sweet, salty, bitter and sour things. RINGMASTER: Yes siree Mr Tongue is very special. Another great big cheer for Mr Tongue! (Mr Tongue stands to one side of ring) RINGMASTER: Please welcome the unbelievable Mrs Hands! (Mrs Hands enters shaking everyones hands) RINGMASTER: Mrs Hands what can you do that is so special? MRS HANDS: I can feel soft things and rough things and I can feel when something is hot or cold just by touching it. I can feel soft, hard, smooth, rough and wet things.

RINGMASTER: Yes sireee Mrs Hands you are very special. Another great big cheer for Mrs Hands! (Mrs Hands stands to one side of ring) RINGMASTER: Please welcome the amazing Mr Eyes! (Mr Eyes enters looking at everyone) Mr eyes what can you do that is so special? MR EYES: I can see a long way away and things up close. I can watch a soccer game or a t.v. show. I can see things that are colourful, shiny, pretty, speckled and sparkly. RINGMASTER: Yes siree Mr Eyes you are very special. Another great big cheer for Mr Eyes. (Mr Eyes stands to one side of ring) RINGMASTER: Lastly please welcome the amazing Mrs Bones! (Mrs Bones enters and does a dance around the ring) RINGMASTER: Mrs Bones why are you so special? MRS BONES: It s because I have bones all over my body. The bones help me to walk and wave and bend and

stretch. Do you know that I have 206 bones. The longest bone in my body is my thigh bone and the smallest bone is in my ear. (Mrs Bones does actions) RINGMASTER: Yes sireee Mrs Bones is very special. (Mrs Bones stands to one side of ring) NARRATOR: All these creatures are very special but wouldn t it be good if there was someone who had all of the 5 senses and a skeleton in one body? CHILD 1: I do! (A child runs from the crowd into ring) I am the most special. I have all of the 5 senses and a skeleton. RINGMASTER: How did you get all of this in one body? CHILD 1: God created me, I m special. God knit me together in my mother s womb, I am fearfully and wonderfully designed. (Then children run into the ring one at a time) CHILD 2: Me too CHILD 3: Me too CHILD 4: So am I

CHILD 5; Me too CHILD 6: We can smell CHILD 7: We can see CHILD 8: We can hear CHILD 9: We can taste CHILD 10: We can feel CHILD 11: We are strong because of our bones NARRATOR: I m sure you ll all agree that our God is an amazing God. He has given us our 5 senses and a skeleton to hold our brilliant body together. Come let us celebrate our Lord Jesus together. THE END
