Opening Words Nurmijärvi Seven Ringettes wishes you welcome to Finland Lions Cup international ringette tournament for girls U16. We are proud to share with you this event for the two days, featuring total of 18 games and six teams. This time we have teams from London (CAN), Järvenpää (FIN), Forssa (FIN), Hyvinkää (FIN) and Nurmijärvi (FIN). Our wish is to provide the teams and spectators a positive and top quality event where many of the world's top U16 players show their skills and together we value the fair play both inside and outside the rink. Information Tournament Office Tournament office is located on 2nd floor for the whole tournament. You'll find the live score disply next to the tournament office. Should you have any questions / feedback about the tournament, please be free to contact the office at any time. Paper copies of the programme may be obtained from the office throughout the tournament. First Aid Our first aid area is located on 2nd floor next to the cafeteria and is marked with first aid sign. The first aid lead is Marja Vihavainen (tel. +358 50 359 6916). All persons working on first aid are certified first aid professionals. Catering The prepaid lunch is served both days at Klaukkala elementary school close to the Klaukkala Arena (yellow school building on the other side of the Lepsämäntie street). The teams have been provided with detailed lunch schedule. Our cafeteria is also prepared for serving lunch both days for the guests at special price. More details about guest lunch arrangements is available from cafeteria personnel. Changerooms Changerooms are available at latest 1/2 hrs before the team's first game of the day and should be empty latest 1/2 hr after the team's last game of the day. 3
Services On Site Cafeteria The cafeteria (2nd floor) is open and serving on both tournament days. For cash there are numerous ATM (Otto / Nosto) machines at Klaukkala center, within walking distance (~1 km). RingJet Store The RingJet representative will be present on site Wednesday January 3rd. You may buy products directly from the manufacturer at special prices. Sharpening Service Should there be a need to get sharpening for the skates we can offer service for it. Kindly contact the tournament office for sharpening service. 4
Rules VENUE The tournament shall take place in Klaukkala, Ice Sports Arena 2-3. January 201 8, Lepsämäntie 1 2. The teams shall register to the tournament office latest 1 hour before their first game in schedule. AGENDA The tournament consists of six (6) teams. First, there will be a preliminary round where each of the teams will face one another and based on ranking after the preliminary round the final ranking is resolved in standing game (5th-6th, 3rd-4th, 1 st-2nd). Preliminary round ranking is determined based on points as follows. Winner gets two (2) points, tie entitles 1 point (1 ) and loss is zero (0) points. Should the teams end up in equal points the ranking is determined based on 1. Head-to-head game 2. Goal difference 3. Goals made 4. Team with less penalties 5. Flip of a coin If the standing game (5th-6th, 3rd-4th, 1 st-2nd) ends in a tie, a shoot-out for 3 players from both teams will take place immediately. If the teams are still tied after that, one shooter per team shall continue until either team wins. Same player cannot shoot, before all the players in the team have shot. The referee will draw the team, which will begin the shoot-out. A player cannot participate in the shoot-out if her penalty has not ended before the game ends. GAME DURATION The game lasts 2x1 2 minutes effective time (stop-clock timing). In-between the rounds there is 1 minute technical break. The last 2 minutes of total game time will be announced. In maximum the game may last 35 minutes real time. In this case the final two minutes will be announced after 30 minutes real time has elapsed since the game started. Timeout is not allowed. GAME START The teams must be ready to start the game 5 minutes before the scheduled start time. If a team fails to show up by scheduled time it may be declared to loose the game by 5-0. GENERAL RULES The games shall be played according to the rules and regulations of the Rinkball and Ringette Association Finland (SKRL) including the additions and clarifications below. Penalty for unsportsmanship conduct or other major/match penalty that leads to ejection of the player from game will cause ban for the next game in schedule. In case a player is given in total 1 0 min (or more) accumulated penalty in one game it will result in ban from all remaining games for the rest of the tournament. Team setup (players, officials) for a game must be registered (by signing the game report) in tournament office latest 30 minutes before the team's scheduled game start. 5
Rules (continued) DISPUTES Notification of a protest with 1 00 euros must be received max.1 5 minutes after the end of the game. The tournament jury will refund the fee if the protest is upheld. The jury consists of tournament manager and two referees. INJURIES The organisers of the tournament are not responsible of any accidents or damages in the games. There is a first aid person present at the arena. CHANGES The tournament organizer has power to change the schedule and game duration (force majeure). AWARDS The top 3 teams will be awarded with trophy. MVPs A most valuable player (MVP) is awarded in each team. The team officials decide the MVP. Teams have to inform the bench of officials latest 5 minutes before the last game about the name of the MVP player. JERSEYS If the jerseys of both teams are the same colour the referee may demand the visitor team to change their jerseys. LICENSE & INSURANCE The players and officials should have the valid license (ice card) and the insurance in place that covers the ice sports related injuries throughout the tournament. The teams should have a up-to-date list of license and insurance ids with them that can be checked by tournament manager per request. PLAYERS The tournament can be attented U1 6 girls born 2002 or later and they have to possess the IceCard (Finnish ringette license, so it does not apply to Canadian players). Max. one year over-aged players (2001 ) are allowed to play in the tournament. Max. two players born in 2001 can be named in the official game report. Over-aged players must be marked in the official game report by the year of birth. A player is allowed to play for another team if she has a permission from her own team. Tournament organizer may allow special arrangements for the teams based on fair play on game basis. In this case the team must provide an application to tournament manager describing the need(s). CODE OF CONCUCT Team leaders, coaches and trainers are not tolerated to criticize the referees and the spectators should show spirit of fair play. 6
