On The Air: Geoff Brault will call all the action from the Times Union Center on GoRedFoxes.com beginning at 1:15 p.m. The game will also be televised on MSG, with Dean Darling and Mika Ryan on the telecast. Series Record: Marist leads the all-time series 15-12, with the Red Foxes winning both meetings this season. In the MAAC Tournament, the Golden Griffins have won two of their three meetings. Last Meeting: Julianne Viani scored a career-high 25 points as Marist defeated Canisius 91-46 in Buffalo, N.Y. on Feb. 10. The Red Foxes made a programrecord 16 three-pointers in the win. Rachele Fitz scored 19 points, as Sarah Smrdel and Lynzee Johnson each made three triples and scored 13 points. Last Time Out: The Red Foxes completed the first undefeated MAAC regular season since the 1996-97 season, defeating Saint Peter s 71-58 at the McCann Center on March 1. Seniors Meg Dahlman and Nikki Flores each led Marist with 17 points. Head Coach Brian Giorgis Brian Giorgis enters his sixth season as head coach of the Marist women's basketball team after leading the program to unprecedented heights in his first five campaigns. He has led the Red Foxes to a 135-49 record, three regular season MAAC Championships and three MAAC Tournament Championships. In the 2007-08 season, Giorgis was named The Rock Coach of the Year. He led Marist to a 28-2 record and a perfect 18-0 record in the MAAC. Marist is currently ranked in both the AP and ESPN poll.

The Red Foxes have won the last two tournaments, and have reached at least the semifinals in the last four tournaments. Toe The Line: The Red Foxes are shooting 80.4% from the free-throw line this season. This is the fourth-best percentage in the country. Marist shot over 80% in 17 games this season. Friday Fun: Marist is unbeaten on Fridays this season with a record of 9-0. Quest For Perfection: This season, Marist became the first team in MAAC history to finish the conference regular season with a perfect 18-0 record. The Red Foxes are the first team since Saint Peter s to go undefeated in the MAAC since the 1996-97 season, when the Peahens went 14-0. Prior to this season, only three teams had gone unbeaten in MAAC history. Rolling: The Red Foxes are currently riding the longest winning streak in program history, winning their last 18 games. Marist eclipsed the 16-game streak set in 2004-2005 with the win over Saint Peter s on Feb. 27. This streak is currently still fourth-longest in the country, behind Utah, UTEP, and Chattanooga, all of which have won their last 21 games. Among The Nation s Best: Marist is ranked 20th in the latest ESPN/USA Today Coaches Poll, released on Tuesday. This marks the highest ranking for the Red Foxes since being ranked 21st last week. On Monday, Marist rose one spot in the Associated Press poll to 24th. She has scored at least 20 points in 15 games this season. Fitz is 23rd in the country in scoring with 18.9 points a game, and ninth in free throw percentage shooting 88.1%. In MAAC games, Fitz averaged 20.4 points and 8.1 rebounds a game, shooting 59.1% from the field. She is also the fastest player in program history to score 1,000 points, doing so on Feb. 15 against Niagara. Record Setter: So far this season, Rachele Fitz has scored 567 points, setting a new Marist record for points in a season previously held by Ursula Winter, who scored 545 points in the 183-84 season. Share The Wealth: The Red Foxes also have done a great job this season distributing the basketball, leading the MAAC in assists with 15.57 a game. This season, Marist has assisted on 63.7% of their baskets. The Red Foxes are currently eighth in the country in turnovers per game with 13.6, and seventh in assistturnover ratio at 1.14. MARIST WBB GAME NOTES March 7, 2008 Canisius (13-17, 7-11 MAAC) vs. #24/#20 Marist (28-2, 18-0 MAAC) Three Is Key: Since January 21, Marist has shot 41.8% from the three-point arc and averaged 78.2 points per game. Over this stretch, Lynzee Johnson has shot 54.5% from beyond the arc and Erica Allenspach has shot 53.1%. In these 12 games, the Red Foxes have won by 21.7 points per game. Clean The Glass: Marist has outrebounded their opponent in 10 of their last 12 games. The Red Foxes rebounding margin in those nine games is +6.7 with Rachele Fitz leading Marist with 8.8 rebounds per game. For the season, Fitz is the MAAC s fourth-leading rebounder, averaging 7.6 boards per contest. Instant Impact: Freshman Erica Allenspach was named to the MAAC All-Rookie team on Monday after leading the conference in three-point percentage. On Thursday, she was named Rookie of the Year. In her first season with the Red Foxes, Allenspach is shooting 52.2% from beyond the arc and averaging 6.8 points per game. Since being inserted into the starting lineup on December 22, she has averaged 8.2 points per game and shot 58% from the threepoint line. Lucky Number Seven(ty): This season Marist has scored over 70 points in 20 games this season, winning all of them.
