We went through dozens of prototypes, continuously improving and perfecting the design with the help of hundreds of wheelchair riders and outdoor enthusiasts. Trails, parks, fields, beaches, gardens there's a lot of adventure and life beyond the pavement. It s time to take the path less travelled. www.gogrit.us info@gogrit.us 1-877-345-GRIT

Trails, beaches, and soccer fields Increasing access with the Freedom Chair We ve been working with parks around the country to see how the Freedom Chair can expand access to their parks among people with disabilities. We re excited to announce a recent partnership with the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation. They are creating a new adaptive hiking program built around the Freedom Chair, opening up their miles of trails to wheelchair riders who have been stuck on the pavement. Easy to learn Using the Freedom Chair is intuitive and easy to get the hang of, helping staff distribute the Freedom Chair to interested patrons. Same bike parts The Freedom Chair uses the same bike parts already in use on mountain bikes in many parks, simplifying maintenance and repairs. Versatile The Freedom Chair is great on a variety of different terrains: from beaches, to paved paths, to grassy picnic areas, to rocky mountain bike trails. Fun Riders love riding their Freedom Chairs. It s an easy and fun way for them to enjoy the outdoors with their friends and family.
Lever drive Easy to push. Less shoulder strain. More fun. Our patented lever drive is easier to push than regular wheelchairs, but is way more powerful. We use the properties of levers to give you the benefits of shifting gears on a bike. This means that the Freedom Chair lets you cruise faster than walking speed on smooth ground, but also gives you the power you need to climb over hills and roll through grass, dirt, and sand. Ready for a break? Pulling backwards on the levers applies the brakes. King of the hill Grabbing the top of the levers gives you a lot of torque, making it easy to overcome obstacles. Win the race Grabbing the bottom of the levers lets you cruise efficiently on sidewalks, bike paths, and roads. 50% more torque 80% faster than regular wheelchairs than regular wheelchairs www.gogrit.us info@gogrit.us 1-877-345-GRIT
Built for the trail Finally, a chair that can keep up with you. The Freedom Chair was designed from the ground up to handle any terrain. The 26 mountain bike tires give you superior traction, especially compared to regular wheelchair wheels. Coupled with our lever drive, it s an unstoppable combination. The Freedom Chair s lightweight steel frame is extremely strong and provides a smooth ride over bumpy terrain. The big front wheel rolls over obstacles without getting stuck, and the three-wheeled footprint is stable like a tripod. Roll over anything We designed the custom 8.75 rubber front wheel to absorb shocks, distribute your weight, and never get stuck. Best of all? It s solid rubber, so punctures are a thing of the past. Regular wheelchair wheel 25 diameter, 1 wide. Freedom Chair 26 diameter x 1.75 wide mountain bike wheel (standard) Freedom Chair 26 diameter x 2.25 wide beach wheel (optional)
Take it anywhere With quick-release everything, the Freedom Chair packs light. The Freedom Chair is the first all-terrain wheelchair that s just as easy to get to the trail as it is to use on the trail. The wheels, seatback, and footrest are all quick release, enabling the Freedom Chair to fit into the trunk of a small car. We designed it to disassemble in less than a minute, and the more you disassemble the lighter it gets (as opposed to folding chairs, which stay the same weight regardless). The weight of the heaviest part to lift into the car is just 25 pounds. www.gogrit.us info@gogrit.us 1-877-345-GRIT

A mountain bike, for your arms Easy to use and even easier to own. Every moving part on the Freedom Chair is an off-the-shelf bike part. This makes maintenance, customization, and repairs easy and inexpensive. Taking care of your Freedom Chair is as simple as keeping the tires inflated and occasionally greasing the chain. Feeling adventurous? Standard bike interfaces make it easy to install custom tires or change the gearing. Need to make an adjustment? Your local bike shop will know just what to do. Intelligently designed Eight years of R&D at your fingertips. We came up with the initial concept for the Freedom Chair in 2008, while we were students at MIT, and we ve been working on it ever since. We designed it with the help of hundreds of wheelchair riders around the world, and tested it in some of the harshest conditions imaginable: the plains of East Africa, rural Nepal, and Haiti. The levers store on the frame, allowing you to move just like in a regular wheelchair. This helps with transfers and using the Freedom Chair indoors. The pad supports your back, so you can push hard, even without trunk strength. www.gogrit.us The adjustable height footrest helps you ensure a comfortable fit in the Freedom Chair. Slots are included to accommodate optional foot straps. The easy-to-use parking brakes keep you locked in place when transferring into and out of the chair. info@gogrit.us Pulling backwards on the levers activates the powerful friction brakes. 1-877-345-GRIT

Riders love it Fantastic chair for outdoor use and an easy chair [to use] when shopping. Rugged yet lightweight. Easy to use in rough conditions without someone else pushing. Love. Have not regretted buying. Easy to use and transport without assistance. -Anne The Freedom chair is exactly that! It allows me to get back into the woods and back on the trails. I am hoping to use it on the beach and hopefully it will let me get out when the Canadian winter arrives and my regular wheelchair can t handle the ice and snow on all of the sidewalks. -Marie The monster truck of wheelchairs. -Michael My son is 15 and has mild CP. He wanted to be more active and join other kids in activities. He has a handcycle which has been great, but he couldn t go on rough surfaces like grass, unpaved trials, etc. This has opened up another level of independence him! It s helping build up his strength a big plus. -Rick www.gogrit.us info@gogrit.us 1-877-345-GRIT
