It is recommended to supply the home owner with at least 1 key upon job completion CAUTION Jandy Pro Series Nicheless Underwater LED Lights are low voltage fixtures. Improper wire gauge or wire length can effect the performance of these products. Refer to your Owner's Manual for complete sizing details. WARNING RISK OF ELECTRICAL SHOCK OR ELECTROCUTION, which could result in serious injury or death. A Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter (GFCI) must be provided for 120 Volt transformers. The conductors on the load side of the GFCI circuit shall not occupy conduit, boxes, or enclosures containing other conductors unless the additional conductors are also protected by a GFCI. Refer to local codes for complete details. WARNING RISK OF ELECTRICAL SHOCK OR ELECTROCUTION, which could result in serious injury or death. The Jandy Pro Series Nicheless LED Lights are only available for 12-volt AC power. For supply connection, use only an isolating low voltage power supply with ungrounded output, evaluated and listed by a NRTL for swimming pool use. IMPORTANT NOTE: All fixtures must be tied into the same transformer, circuit or switch for synchronization to occur. The use of Solid Core over Stranded wire and terminating Bus Bars is strongly recommended.

Wiring to an switch/timeclock The Jandy Pro Series Nicheless LED Lights can be wired to a switch to manually operate the lights. Wiring to an AquaLink controller To ensure maximum safety, use only a Class 2 transformer that can supply 12-14 Volts AC to power all 12-Volt lights. The transformer must be listed or certified by a Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory (NRTL) for the intended use. NEC 680.23(A)(2) Transformers and power supplies are required to be specifically listed for swimming pool use. Unless marked otherwise, swimming pool and spa transformers are not suitable for connection to a conduit that extends directly to an underwater pool light forming shell. Swimming pool and spa transformers are not permitted to be used outdoors unless marked "For Outdoor Use" or in an equivalent manner that signifies that they have been found acceptable for outdoor use. NEC 110.3(B) defines the requirements on the installation and use of listed electrical equipment. Jandy Pro Series color lights are NOT DIMMABLE and are NOT COMPATIBLE with dimmer switches or dimmer relays.

OPERATION LIGHT SYNCHRONIZATION (RGBW series lights) 1. Turn ON the light(s) (Light will display previously selected color). 2. Reset the light(s). Turn the lights OFF for 5 seconds Turn the lights back on (ALL the lights should return to Alpine White, otherwise repeat). 3. To select a color mode, turn the lights OFF for 1 to 3 seconds then back ON. Repeat this sequence until desired color is reached. 4. The lights have an internal memory and if left on for more then 7 seconds will retain the select color. Turn on one of the lights the any of the shows. NOTE: At anytime you can change the color or show of any one light Auxiliary by selecting the Aux you want to change and selecting a different color or show.

LED Syncing Turn on the next light and select the same show. During the light sync all selected lights are reset and automatically turned off and on until the chosen show is selected. Repeat as needed. (ie: fountains, extra zones, separate spa etc )

Nicheless Lighting Design Underwater LED Lights General Design Best Practice 1. Whenever possible, position light fixture so the beam is directed away from the house. ORIENTATION 2. If the pool is perpendicular to the house, place lights on either side of the pool. 3. If the pool is parallel to the home, place the lights on the house side facing away so that the homeowner and guests are not looking directly into the beams of light. 4. Use multiple lights along a side of the pool not facing the house to obtain an even distribution of light throughout the pool. General Design Best Practice PLACEMENT 1. In the deep and shallow ends, lights should be placed 9 12 below the water so that all pool lights are even on the wall. 2. Lights in sun shelves/baja benches should be positioned 4 below water level. 3. Lights in spas should be placed below the bench or in the foot well.

General Design Best Practice USE 1. For fitness use: lap pools should always be lit from the side so swimmers don t swim into the light s beam. 2. For family use: be sure to light all safety areas such as pool steps, entrances and exits. 3. For aesthetics: keep lights flush with the wall of the pool in an inlet fitting that is 1½ in diameter. Our White-Only nicheless lights are dimmable for customized brightness. General Design Best Practice FINISH 1. For light to medium pool finishes we recommend color lights as follows: Distance of coverage 16 and under, go with 20W color lights. Distance of coverage over 16 and up to 22, go with 30W color lights. 2. For dark finishes, use the White-Only lights as the colors from the colored lights will be absorbed by the finish.

LED Underwater Lighting Design Example Configurations For standard geometric pools, there are two basic options in lighting design - fewer lights but more wattage, or additional lights at less wattage. Common shapes and recommended number and placement of lights 16 X 32 POOL 8 BAJA SHELF Example Configurations Common shapes and recommended number and placement of lights 18 X 38 Kidney These custom configurations show two options for light placement. One upper demonstrates light installation for less illumination but more even light distribution.

LED Underwater Lighting Design Example Configurations Common shapes and recommended number and placement of lights NICHELESS LIGHTS IN BASIN PLACED VERTICALLY 20W 40' Vanishing Edge Pool Applications Recommended Light Sizing 9W lights are best for small spas and sun shelves (baja benches). 20W lights are best for even distribution of light along the pool s surface. 30W lights are best for smaller pools where you have one light in the pool underneath the diving board. Spa lights always go below the bench (the foot well). Avoid placing lights over a bench in the pool areas because that placement will stop the light from reflecting on the pool s surface. If there is a bench that runs alongside the length of the pool and it is on the house side, please make sure that those lights are placed below the bench. Benches will go down 12 18 below the water s surface, so if the lights have to be placed at 24 in this scenario, that s OK. For sun shelves or baja shelves, position the lights halfway down and at least 4 below water level. Most sun shelves are 8 to 12 below water.

Lighting Dos & Don'ts Industry Tips DIRECTION Make sure lights (beams) are shining away from the house. SAFETY Always light the safety areas (steps, pool entrance and exit). WATERFALLS All X-Stream Waterfalls (lit with fiber) are lit with 30W light drivers and are best with color or white LED drivers. You can choose a color or white driver depending on how you are lighting the pool. White will always be the brightest. BUBBLERS Are best placed in open areas, such as baja shelves. LAP POOLS Always light lap pools by placing all lights on the long wall, and facing away from the house. DARK SPOTS Try to eliminate dark spots/blind spots in areas caused by design of the pool. Generally it is better to install more lower wattage lights than fewer higher wattage lights. Adding more lights helps create an even glow. BENCH If you have a bench that runs along the length of the pool, install a light 6 below the bench to reduce shadows. CIRCUIT Make sure all lights are on the same on/off circuit. If you are synchronizing lights, this is very important. Bonding Special side note. When no lights or nicheless lights are installed and require no bonding. BE SURE that all other metal. (Handrails. Ladders etc ) have been bonded to the grid to avoid shock hazards. DARK FINISH POOLS Don t use color lights in dark finish pools. Dimmable white lights deliver twice the brightness by size. TESTING LIGHTS Don t test lights with line voltage. Our lights are lowvoltage and must be attached to 12V in the transformer. Read the instructions with the transformer to ensure you are using 12V. TRANSFORMER Make sure you use the proper transformer. For instance, don t put (5) 20W lights on a 100W transformer. There is no safety factor on the transformer for electrical surges. Instead, go with a 300W transformer that has extra room for surges. Use only a transformer that has been certified by a Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory (NRTL) as complying with the applicable requirements of UL 379 The Standard for Power Units for Fountain, Swimming Pool, and Spa Luminaires. BENCH If a bench is located on the side of the pool where it s recommended pool lights be installed, be sure to locate the lights 6 below the bench. This will ensure that floor shadows are reduced. BUBBLERS Don t place bubblers in corners, three sided boxes, or close together. The back splash from the wall will create turbulence and affect the form of the water plume. WATTAGE Keep a wattage safety factor of 15%. LIGHTS ON SUN SHELVES/BAJA SHELVES Locate lights so that they are at least 4 below water level.

TROUBLESHOOTING & REPAIR In-field Light Identification Dot Color Indicates RGBW Series = Jandy Pro Series (JPS) (YELLOW) = SAVI (S Series) (BLUE) = SAVI (H Series) (ORANGE) = SAVI (P Series) (RED) No dot indicates the light is JPS white series Symptom Possible Cause Solution All lights fail to illuminate Lights are not receiving power Check 120VAC power supply into transformer. Check for 12VAC output at transformer. Check or reset GFCI. Make sure 120 volts has not been used in the installation - damage is assured and is NON WARRANTY. One or more lights are dim, blinking or not working Poor connection or improper wire gauge Separate each light and independently wire 12V to the single light only. Repeat this process on each light. If junction box is being used, check for proper connection of light cord. Verify that the correct wire gauge is being used between the transformer and junction box. Colored lights out of synch Improper voltage supply or poor connection to the light Verify that proper wire connections are being achieved for the lights that are out of synch. Reset all the lights to white by turning lights OFF for five (5) seconds, then turning ON

Troubleshooting, Wiring Confirm Proper Voltage & Wire Gauge. Check for proper secondary voltage. Confirm the secondary is 12 to 14 VAC. (Check the wiring label on the transformer to confirm expected secondary voltage). Confirm Wires are stripped back completely and all connections are solid & tight. Check for corrosion. Note: If a junction box is used after the transformer, the voltage should be checked at that location also. Light Cartridge Replacement Light Cartridge Replacement 1. Remove the eight screws from the lens using a T8 Torx driver or the torques tool provided. Pull off the lens, remove and discard the o-ring. 2. Using the extraction tool, thread into the extraction hole in the face of the light cartridge and gentle pull to remove the cartridge from the housing body. 3. Insert the replacement cartridge to the housing. Align the end circuit board tab the receiving slot and press into place. Extraction tool (cont ) Be sure to do repairs in a dry area. ie: Drain the water below the light or pull the light to deck. Do not attempt repairs in the pool/spa.

Light Cartridge Replacement Light Cartridge Replacement (cont ) 4. Clean the leans and reapply silicon to the outer edge of the lens along the screw holes. 5. Press the lens into place, then tighten the screws in the shown wagon wheel pattern. 2 8 3 6 5 4 1 7 6. Reset the fixture into the wall fitting and restore power. Before securing to the wall fitting, slowly submerse in water, checking for any air bubbles - quickly remove from water if bubbles appear as it indicates the seal is not water tight, retighten the screws and test for bubbles again. Light Cartridge Inspection Signs when the light has been accidentally hooked up to high voltage or if there has been a large power surge or lightning strike. Damaged New/Good

Winterization The water level should be lowered to approximately 12 inches below the pool lights. Make certain that the water is drained out of the wall housing. Consult a Local Swimming Pool Professional for proper winterization. Minimum safeguard requires dropping the water level 2-4 below the light. At NO TIME should there be water removed from the pool without checking ground water tables. Notes: 25
