Central Kansas Gun Club 2017 High Power Rifle Schedule Location: 7908 North Lorraine Street, Hutchinson, KS Approximately 3 ½ miles north from the corner of 30 th and Loraine (See Page 4 for Contact Information) Eye and ear protection are mandatory for all matches! F-CLASS AND F/TR CLASS: See notice on page 6. SPECIAL NOTICE March 27, 2017: Thanks very much to all who have called or messaged to express concerns about the recent wild fire. Although generally the club experienced very little damage, the fire destroyed our target shed and all targets and other equipment necessary to hold matches except for the steel target carriers. The fire has also delayed the pit reconstruction project (the concrete contractor lost his truck in the blaze). We hope to have at least the pit project completed and new targets built by the Sat 4/29 match, and will update the schedule as necessary. Hopefully we can get updates posted to the club website and facebook page linked up at www.centralkansasgunclub.com as things progress. The work day on March 25 got our new target construction nearly completed, so the previously announced work day on April 1 st is cancelled. We will meet up at the club house again at 1 PM on Sunday April 23 to attach cardboard and targets to target frames and other work as necessary. The match on April 1 st remains cancelled. Match Dates. Match director to be as indicated or TBD = will be assigned later. If no participants are present for the New Shooter Events, then any rifle, any sight matches consisting of 2 sighting shots and 20 shots for record will be offered at 600-yards for any shooter who participated in the XTC match that day or who holds an NRA classification in Mid-Range or Long Range disciplines. CROMWELL CUP MEMORIAL MATCHES Guy Cromwell was well known to Oklahoma and Kansas high power rifle shooters and passed away in 2008. Beginning in 2009 with the first match in Hutchinson, this memorial match and the Cromwell Cup Trophy Formerly alternated between Hutchinson and Guy s home range at the Oklahoma City Gun Club at Arcadia, OK north of Oklahoma City. Proceeds are donated to youth marksmanship programs, with which Guy was heavily involved. It is not a bad way to be remembered, when you think about it. Beginning September 24, 2017 the Cromwell Cup Match will permanently move to OKCGC, largely because of the disparity in attendance possible between the two clubs because of club sizes. Proceeds will be distributed proportionally between the two clubs according to percentage of attendance. Note that the OKC event will be a 100-point match with two stages of fire at 600-yards. Location- Central Kansas Gun Club, Location: 7908 North Lorraine Street, Hutchinson, KS (3 ½ miles north of K-Mart from the corner of 30th and Loraine) Special Notice for AR Tactical, F-Class & F/TR Shooters There has not been any particular interest in F or F/TR class shooting at Central Kansas Gun Club, despite a wide interest in this discipline elsewhere about the country. We do not have F targets at CKGC, but would entertain a proposal to somehow accommodate an F-Class program in the future if sufficient interest presents itself. But we have to know about the interest before we will try to accommodate it. Contact the program chairmen to discuss, or present yourself at any of the 600- yard matches, and we ll see what might be worked out. Additionally, any F or F/TR shooter who shows up at the KSRA Mid-Range matches will be accommodated on the regular sling target on an out of competition basis with scores not reportable to NRA or eligible for awards. Certainly not ideal, but at least it will get you on the range! We are also monitoring the NRA s new provisionary AR Tactical mid-range class and will gage interest and accommodate those shooters as above. More information regarding the AR Tactical class is available from the NRA 2017 rule book or is summarized on-line here: http://accurateshooter.net/downloads/artacticalpronemidrange.pdf Page 6 of 6
