DESCRIPTION OF ITEM DESIGN AND EXPLOSION-PROOF MEASURES VC4, VH4, HV4, TSC4, CN4, TN4, and CSC4 series explosion-proof enclosures are made of painted carbon steel (the number 4 indicates the housing material painted carbon steel). Housings of VC4X, VH4X, HV4X, TSC4X, CN4X, TN4X, and CSC4X series explosion-proof enclosures can be made of type 304 stainless steel (the designation 4X indicates the housing material type 304 stainless steel). Housings of VC4X6, VH4X6, HV4X6, TSC4X6, CN4X6, TN4X6, and CSC4X6 series explosion-proof enclosures can be made of type 316L stainless steel (the designation 4X6 indicates the housing material type 316L stainless steel). VC4 and VH4 series explosion-proof enclosures have a box-like housing with a cover made out of steel. Certified conduit entries are mounted on the sides of the housings. Certified add-ins can be installed in the housing. HV4 series explosion-proof enclosures are steel box-like housings in which a high-voltage insulator is installed connection of cable conductors. Conduit entries are mounted on the sides of the housing. The cover of HV4 series explosion-proof enclosures is attached to the housing with bolts and hinges and has sealing gaskets. TSC4 series explosion-proof enclosures are steel box-like housings inside which certified Ex-components can be mounted. Conduit entries are mounted on the sides of the housing. The cover of TSC4 series explosion-proof enclosures is attached to the housing with bolts and has sealing gaskets. CN4 series explosion-proof enclosures have a housing and cover on a hinged joint; the cover is attached with screws. The housing and cover are made of steel. Certified Ex-components can be installed in the housing. Certified conduit entries are mounted on the sides of the housing. Certified add-ins can be mounted on the cover: EBT series and EH (PP, PB, S, KS) series pushbuttons and selector switches, and EL series indicator lights. The housing of CN4 series explosion-proof enclosures has a
Addendum to Certificate of Conmity No. Ross US. GB05.V03061 Page 5 sealing gasket between the housing and the cover at least an ingress rating. TN4 series explosion-proof enclosures have a housing and mounted cover on hinges that is attached with screws. Certified Ex-components are mounted in the housing. Certified conduit entries are mounted on the sides of the housing. The housing of TN4 series explosion-proof enclosures has a sealing gasket between the housing and the cover at least an ingress rating. The housing and cover are made of steel. CSC4 series explosion-proof enclosures have a housing and a cover that is attached with bolts. Certified Excomponents are mounted in the housing. Certified conduit entries are mounted on the sides of the housing. The housing of CSC4 series explosion-proof enclosures has a sealing gasket between the housing and the cover at least an ingress rating. The housing and cover are made of steel. EBT series contact blocks, EH (PP, PB, S, KS) series pushbuttons and selector switches, and EL series indicator lights are Ex-components and are intended installation in CN4 and CSC4 series explosion-proof enclosures. A detailed description of the design of VC4, VH4, HV4, TSC4, CN4, TN4, and CSC4 series enclosures, with EBT series contact blocks, EH (PP, PB, S, KS) pushbuttons and selector switches, and series EL indicator lights is included in the operating manuals and registration certificates. The explosion-proof nature of VC4, VH4, HV4, TSC4, CN4, TN4, and CSC4 series enclosures, with EBT series contact blocks, EH (PP, PB, S, KS) pushbuttons and selector switches, and EL series indicator lights, depending on configuration, is ensured with "explosion-proof enclosure" types of protection from explosions according to GOST R 52350.1-2005 (IEC 60079-1:2003), "e type protection" according to GOST R 52350.7-2005 (IEC 60079-7:2006), "sealing with (m) compound" of "mb" level according to GOST R 52350.18-1006 (IEC 60079-18:2004), and the execution of their design in compliance with requirements of GOST R 52350.0-2005 (IEC 60079-0:2004). The combustible dust ignition protection nature of VC4, VH4, HV4, TSC4, CN4, TN4, and CSC4 series boxes with EH (PP, PB, S, KS) series pushbuttons and selector switches and EL series indicator lights is ensured by meeting the requirements of IEC 61241-1- 2004 and executing their design according to GOST R IEC 61241-0-2007. The labeling placed on the housing of VC4, VH4, HV4, TSC4, CN4, TN4, and CSC4 series boxes with EBT series contact blocks, EH (PP, PB, S, KS) series pushbuttons and selector switches, and EL series indicator lights includes the following inmation: mark or name of manufacturer; name of item; sequential number of item according to the numbering system of the manufacturer;
Addendum to Certificate of Conmity No. Ross US. GB05.V03061 Page 6 explosion protection labeling; combustible dust ignition protection labeling; warning label "Disconnect from power grid prior to opening!"; ambient temperature range during operation; name or mark of certification center and certificate number and other inmation required by regulatory and technical documentation that the manufacturer must incorporate into the labeling. 4. SPECIAL CONDITIONS TO ENSURE OPERATIONAL SAFETY The X sign, following the explosion protection labeling, means that when operating VC4, VH4, HV4, TSC4, CN4, TN4, and CSC4 series explosion-proof enclosures with EBT contact blocks, EH (PP, PB, S, KS) series pushbuttons and selector switches, and EL series indicator lights, it is necessary to comply with the following special conditions: 1. All utilized wires or cables must be suitable a temperature of 80 C. 2. All unutilized openings must be equipped with certified covers of material equivalent to the housing materials and must comply with the level of protection. 3. The number of wires entering the junction box, taking into consideration the number of internal couplings (excluding shunts and ground wires) must not exceed the level indicated in the operating instructions each size of junction box. 4. Upon installation of pushbuttons, selector switches, and indicator lights with "d e" and "e mb" type explosion protection in an explosion-proof enclosure, the enclosure must be labeled, depending on the upper ambient temperature value, in the following manner: - 2 Ex de mb IIC T6 use in ambient temperature from -20 C t amb +40, or - 2 Ex de mb IIC T5 use in ambient temperature from -20 C t amb +55. 5. After completion of installation, all creepage path distances and electrical clearances must correspond to Table 1 in the GOST R 52350.7-2005 standard. 6. The EBT series contact block must be mounted on a hard surface, using mounting devices. 7. The EBT series contact block can be installed in an explosion-proof enclosure with "d" type explosion protection or "e" type protection. 8. The EBT series contact block must be mounted so that there is a minimum of a 10 millimeter clearance from any conductive surface. 9. Prior to disconnecting wires from EBT series contact blocks, the wires must be de-energized. 10. Two wires with a cross-section of 0.5 mm 2 to 4 mm 2 can be connected to an EBT series contact block. The insulation of the wires must be stripped to a length of 10-12 mm.
Page 7 Addendum to Certificate of Conmity No. Ross US. GB05.V03061 11. The maximum operating ambient temperature to use the EBT series contact block may not exceed 73 C. 12.
