ADULT CO-ED FUTSAL LEAGUE RULES Schedules Game time is determined by the official game schedule. All schedules will be sent to Team managers/captains via email. Make sure your email on your registration is accurate and one you check often. Schedules will also be available with the gym attendants. The front desk will have schedule information. Schedules will also be posted on Valley Sports Center website www.valleysportscenter.com This is a recreational league Players must be 21 years of age or older. Rosters/Team Captain Responsibilities Team registration form must be completed online on the Valley Sports Center website. o A team can register between 6 to 10 players. Team fee is $550 o A $100 non-refundable deposit is required for registering team. o Once a team has been registered, the team manager/captain will be emailed a link for them to create their team roster. o This Co-ed league must have at least 2 women on the court at all times. Register team members accordingly. o Team Captain is responsible for getting VSC all proper paperwork and team fee PAID IN FULL before the start of the first game! IF THE TEAM HAS NOT PAID IN FULL BEFORE THE START OF THE TEAM S FIRST GAME, THEY WILL BE DROPPED FROM THE LEAGUE! Manager/Captain: when paying off balance, please make in the form of a single payment! Thank you! An Individual without a team can register for $100 and the individual will be placed on an established team. Individuals without a team must register online. Forfeits All teams must be ready to play at the game time listed on the schedule. League games will start on time, no objections! If a team is short players the manager s/captains will be asked what they would like to do. BOTH manager/captain s will need to agree before the game takes place. o The team short players can play with a member of the opposing team - this can be played for the win or the team short players can take the loss automatically o The teams can agree upon playing 4 v 4 or 3 v 3
o The Referee and manager/captains will make a decision. If no decision can be made the team short players will forfeit the game and take the loss. Forfeits are not tolerated 1 st offense team gets a warning, 2 nd offense is a $50.00 team fine and suspension from the league for the rest of the season. Eligibility and Player Conduct All team managers/captains must have all team players listed on the roster. Team managers/captains must check-in with front desk to make sure team roster is accurate at the team s first game. No additional players can be added after the first game. Participants must sign the VSC Waiver Form prior to their first game; team captains are responsible for getting this paperwork to VSC. All Participants must follow the VSC Code of Conduct, no exceptions! League Rules Team Jerseys: All teams will be provided with a team jersey with numbers. Team Jerseys will be given to the team manager/captain before the first game, and they are responsible for distributing them to the team. All jewelry must be removed prior to the game. The league will only use VSC equipment. Each team pays $550 for 8 weeks/8 games. Each team can register between 6 to 10 players, all players must be on roster and have appropriate paperwork finished and submitted to VSC prior to first game. A player may only play on one team per league. All teams are guaranteed eight games unless a team drops out. When a team drops out, the other team will receive a win for that night. There will not be a new schedule. The team may use the time for pickup/open court. After eight weeks, the top four teams will compete in the semifinal and championship games the following week. This league is governed by the Official Futsal Rules No Shin Guard, No Play rule is strictly enforced. All players must wear indoor soccer shoes or sneakers! Game Rules: 1) Number of Players Five players on court, including goal keeper. No Substitution limit Substitution method: Flying substitution (all players but the goalkeeper enter and leave as they please; goalkeeper substitutions can only be made when the ball is out of player and with the referee s consent.)
A team can have a maximum of 10 players registered and a minimum of six players registered. Only those players registered for the team may play. 2) Referee Only one referee per game. All players must respect the referee s call (enforced by Code of Conduct), if a player has a reoccurring problem with a referee, the player must present in writing to a Valley Sports Center Manager. 3) The Game Two -20 minutes periods, running clock (unless otherwise instructed by the referee) Halftime: Three minutes Coin Toss followed by kickoff; Opposing team waits outside center circle; ball is deemed in play once it has been touched. The kicker cannot touch ball before someone else touches it. Kickoffs are taken after goals scored and at the start of the second half. The ball is out of play when it has wholly crossed the goal line or touchline ; when the game has been stopped by a referee, when the ball hits the ceiling. A Restart a kick in at the closest place to where the ball went out of play. The touchlines and goal lines are considered inside the playing area. A direct free kick- is awarded when a player intentionally commits any of the following offenses: (penalty kick is awarded when infringement takes places in penalty area) o Kicking or attempting to kick an opponent o Tripping an opponent o Jumping at an opponent o Charging at an opponent in a violent or dangerous manner o Charging at an opponent from behind o Striking, attempting to strike, or spitting at an opponent o Holding an opponent o Pushing an opponent o Charging at an opponent with shoulder o Slide tackling an opponent o Handling the ball (except goalkeepers) A indirect free kick- is awarded when any of the following offenses is committed (kick taken from the 6 meter line when infringement takes place in penalty area) o Dangerous play o Obstruction o Charging the goalkeeper in the penalty area o Goalkeeper throws ball directly over halfway line (without it first touching his own side of the court or any player) o Goalkeeper picks up or touches with his hands a back pass o Goalkeeper picks up or touches with his hands a kick-in from a teammate o Goalkeeper controls the ball with an part of his body for more than four seconds
o Goalkeeper touches with any part of his body a back pass that has been played back to him before the ball has (1) crossed the halfway line (2) been touched by an opponent Players shall be cautioned (given yellow card) when: (indirect free kick) o A substituting player enters the court from an incorrect position or before the player he or she is substituting has entirely left the court o He or she is persistently infringing the Laws of the Game o He or she shows dissent with any decision of the referee o He or she is guilty of un-sportsmanship like conduct Players shall be sent off (given red card) for: (direct kick) o Serious foul play o Violent conduct o Foul or abusive language (indirect kick) o Second instance of cautioned offense (indirect kick) o Intentionally impeding a clear goal opportunity o Intentionally impeding a clear goal opportunity in the penalty area by handling the ball The player sent off (given a red card) is out for the rest of the game. The team of the player sent off can substitute for that player after 2 minutes of playing time or after the opposing team scores; whichever comes first. The 2-minute punishment shall be checked by the scorekeeper. The substitute cannot come on until the ball is out of play and he or she has the referee s consent. FREE KICKS- must be taken within four seconds; Restriction kicker cannot touch the ball again until it has been touched by another player. FOULS- Once a team has accumulated five fouls during a half, on the sixth foul: o That team shall not be allowed a defensive wall o All free kicks shall be direct (no indirect free kicks) o Infringements committed with 12 meters of the goal line shall be punished with a direct free taken from the point of the infringement or from the second penalty spot; infringements committed from 12 meters or further from the goal line shall be punished with a direct free kick from Second Penalty Spot o Until the ball is kicked into play, all players other than the goalkeeper and kicker shall remain behind an imaginary line that is in line with the ball and parallel to the goal line. o The goalkeeper shall remain in his penalty area. o The kicker must aim at the goal with the intention of scoring o No other player may touch the ball until it has been touched by the pitch, rebounded from the goal post or cross bar, or has left the pitch. o If the infringement took place in penalty area, (the free kick is to be taken from the 6 meter line on the sport nearest to where the infringement occurred.
PENALTY KICKo To be taken from the penalty mark on the mid-point of the 6 meter line o The kicker is to aim at the goal, with the in the intention of scoring o All players must be out of the penalty area, and the players of the opposing team must also be least 5 meter from the penalty spot. o The kicker shall not play the ball a second time until it has been touched by another player. KICK-INo To be taken place of the throw-in. o The ball is placed on the touch line before kicking o The kicker s foot not kicking the ball must be outside or at least on the touchline; if it crosses the touchline all of the way, into the pitch, the kick in is given to the opposing team. o The kick-in must be taken within four seconds; if it is not, the kick-in is given to the opposing team. o The kicker cannot play the ball a second time until it has been played by another player; infringement of this rule entail an indirect free kick to the opposing from the point of infringement. o Players on opposing team must be at least five meters away from point of kick in o Cannot score directly from kick-in. GOAL CLEARANCEo To be taken instead of goal kick; from inside the penalty area, the goalkeeper throws the ball into play. o The ball is not in play until it has passed outside of the penalty area. If the goal clearance is received inside of the penalty area, the goal clearance shall be taken over. CORNER KICKo Ball placed in corner; if ball is misplaced the corner kick is taken over. o Must be taken within four seconds; failure to do so entails indirect free kick for opposing team from the corner mark. o The kicker cannot play the ball a second time until it has been played by another player; infringement of this rule entails an indirect free kick to the opposing from the point of infringement. o Players on opposing team must be at least 5 meters away from point of the corner kick. o Player can score directly from corner kick. Officials: Officials will be certified referees. One official per game
Scorekeepers: There will be one scorekeeper per a game; they will be operating the clock, score, and fouls of each player. Reporting Results: VSC will provide a league score sheet. Each team manager/captain is responsible for filling in players names and numbers into score sheet prior to start time. Anyone not listed in the score sheet will not be allowed to play. If no scorekeeper available, home team is responsible for keeping score. Referee must sign score sheet at the end of every game and the scorekeeper will pass in all scores to VSC Sports Director to be updated in league standings. Any score discrepancies must be dealt with at the game.
