Matt Lorito (2g-9a) and Reid Boucher (7g-4a) led the team during the month with 11 points each. Mike Sislo (6g-3a) registered nine points, while Corey Tropp (3g-5a) and Paul Thompson (4g- 4a) each had eight points. Between the pipes, Yann Danis went 7-1-2 with three shutouts, a 1.79 goals-against average and a.925 save percentage. Divisional Challenge This week s games include three matchups against North Division rivals. The Devils host the St. John s IceCaps Wednesday at 7 pm, the Rochester Americans Saturday at 5 pm and the Syracuse Crunch Sunday at 5 pm. Albany is 5-1-2-0 against divisional opponents. Near The Top Not only do the Devils have one of the best points percentages (.711) in the Eastern Conference, but it ranks tied for third in the AHL. Thanks to an 8-1-1-0 record in their last 10 games, including their current three-game winning streak, Albany is second in the North Division and third in the conference at 12-4-3-0. 1

News & Notes Last Week Recap Wednesday: Devils 3, Sound Tigers 1 Paul Thompson set up a pair of Blake Coleman goals and Rod Pelley netted his first goal of the season, elevating the Devils to a 3-1 victory against the Sound Tigers Wednesday at Times Union Center. Pelley and Thompson scored less than two minutes apart in the first period to take an early lead. After Bridgeport s Ryan Strome made it a 2-1 game in the second, Coleman added an insurance goal at 6:58 of the third period. Yann Danis earned the win with 18 saves. Yann Danis was essentially gifted his 23rd career AHL shutout and third of the season. Offensively, Reid Boucher, Corey Tropp, Matt Lorito, and Paul Thompson each had multiple-point performances. Boucher and Tropp both had a goal and an assist, and Lorito and Thompson had a pair of helpers. Mike Sislo netted his team-leading 11th goal and Brandon Burlon scored his first of the season. Paul Thompson netted the gamewinning goal and Greg Wolfe, who signed a PTO less than 10 hours before the game, scored his first career AHL goal. Corey Tropp and Reid Boucher also scored and Ryan Kujawinski added a pair of assists. Yann Danis registered his 11th win, making 19 saves. Reid Boucher (ALB) Off And Running The Devils are off to the best start in franchise history with an 12-4-3-0 record after 19 games. Albany limited Binghamton to one shot in the first, four in the second and one in the third. The team broke the previous record, which was 13 shots against on Mar. 16, 2014 against the Syracuse Crunch. Top-Ranked Defense Albany s defense ranks first in the AHL with a 2.05 goals-against average, allowing just 39 goals in 19 games. Also, the team ranks second with a 24.84 shots-against average. During last week s games, Albany surrendered just 47 shots on goal, averaging 15.7 shots against per game. License To Kill The Devils have the best penalty kill unit in the league, killing off 90.1 percent. The team has been shorthanded 81 times and has surrendered just eight goals. Power Performance Thanks to man-advantage goals in 15 of 19 games, the Devils powerplay unit ranks tops in the league with a 26.1 percentage. The team has netted a league-leading 23 power-play goals. Mike Sislo leads the league with seven power-play goals and is tied for third with 11 power-play points. Additionally, Joseph Blandisi is tied for fifth with four goals. First To The Party The Devils have scored first in 13 of 19 games this season, going 10-1-2-0 during those contests. Additionally, the team is outscoring opponents, 21-8, during the first period. Between The Pipes Yann Danis, who registered his 23rd career AHL shutout Saturday, is among the league leaders for several categories. He ranks first with 967 minutes played, tied for first with 11 wins, third with a 1.86 goalsagainst average, tied for second with two shutouts and tied for 12th with a.927 save percentage. Lorito Picks Up Where He Left Off Coming off 12 points (3g-9a) in 11 AHL games last season as an ATO, Matt Lorito has maintained that pace this year. He has a team-leading 19 points (4g-15a) in 18 outings. He is tied for 9th in the AHL for points and tied for fourth among rookies. The Oakville, ON native spent the last four seasons at Brown (ECAC), serving as captain his senior year. Lorito led the Bears in scoring two of the four years. Thompson Rolling Paul Thompson, who led the team with a goal and four helpers last week, is riding a six-game point streak, producing four tallies and four assists. Despite missing six games, the 27-year-old is sixth on the team with 10 points, backed by five goals and five assists. Record In His Sights Mike Sislo is on the verge of tying Niclas Bergfors for most power-play goals in team history. Sislo s league-leading seven man-up goals has put his career total at 26. Bergfors registered 27 between 2006-09. This season, Sislo leads the Devils with 11 goals and is second with 17 points. He has points in all but five games this season. In 266 career AHL games, the 27-year-old has 151 points with 76 goals and 75 helpers. He ranks second all-time in franchise history for points, second for goals and fifth for assists. 2

A-Plus For Mozik Vojtech Mozik, who is in his first professional season in North American, leads the AHL with a +15 rating. He has a goal and seven assists in 16 outings. The 22-year-old signed with New Jersey this past summer after spending the previous four years in the Czech Extraliga, totaling 20 goals and 29 assists in 157 outings. Burlon Contributing Offensively Brandon Burlon is on a four-game point streak, registering a goal and three assists during that span. The Devils defenseman, who is coming off a career-high 28 points (8g-28a) last year, has nine points (1g-8a) in 16 games. In 252 career games, the 25-year-old has tallied 82 points (16g-66a) and a +10 rating. Mr. Offense Thanks to a four-game point streak, Reid Boucher is tied for third on the team with 14 points, including nine goals and five assists. He has three goals and three helpers during the last four contests. For his career, the Lansing, MI native has registered 49 goals and 38 assists for 87 points in 144 AHL games. Additionally, he has produced three tallies and five helpers for eight points in 37 NHL outings. Finding His Spot Among players will more than two shots, Joseph Blandisi owns the best shooting percentage on the team converting on 31.6 percent of the shots he has taken. The 21-year-old, who is tied for third on the team with 14 points, has six goals on 19 shots. He ranks ninth among AHL rookies for points and tied for second with four power-play tallies. Appleby Update Netminder Ken Appleby is 9-2-0 with the Adirondack Thunder (ECHL) and has helped them to a 12-2-0-1 start. Appleby has a 1.99 goalsagainst average and a.932 save percentage. Albany is 3-3-1-1 all-time against St. John s with a 1-3-0-0 home mark and a 2-0-1-1 road record. Last year, the Devils went 2-1-1-0 against the IceCaps. Last Meeting Scott Wedgewood and Scott Clemmensen combined for a shutout effort in the Devils 2-0 victory against the St. John s IceCaps Saturday at Mile One Centre. Wedgewood accounted for 11 saves before leaving the game at 11:52 of the second period. Clemmensen made 17 saves, including 13 in the third period. Devils vs. Opponents Devils vs. Americans All-Time Series The Devils and Americans are meeting for the first time since the 2012-13 season. Saturday s game will be the 13th all-time between the two clubs and the Devils are 5-6-0-1 with a 2-3-0-1 home mark and a 3-3-0-0 road record. Last Meeting Mike Sislo had a goal, but the Devils lost, 3-2, against the Americans at Times Union Center on Apr. 17, 2013.
