P A G E 2 Brett Cumnock Brett exemplifies the Service trait of the Knight s Code because he is always helping others out whenever they need something. He always goes out of his way to make sure everyone has a good day. He truly resembles what it means to be a Knight. Notable Knights Anneliese Niebruegge Anneliese exemplifies the Courage trait of The Knight s Code. She is a joy to have in class because she is just a genuinely "good" person. Anneliese has a heart of gold, and she is constantly striving to be the best student and person that she can be. She always comes to class with a great attitude, and I can tell that exuding positivity is a personal goal of hers. The work that she turns in is always done with care and to the absolute best of her ability. I appreciate Anneliese and am very glad I have the opportunity to have her as a student this year. Jonathan Martz Jonathan Martz exemplifies the Integrity trait of The Knight s Code. Jonathan is just an allaround great student. He comes to class prepared, he puts in full effort during instruction, and he turns in things that are high quality. Students like Jonathan make a teacher happy. He comes in, does what he's supposed to do, and has a great attitude about it. I also appreciate his willingness to help other students and his easygoing disposition. I can definitely see Jonathan succeeding in whatever he chooses to do with

P A G E 9 Internet Safety For Parents Counseling Presented by: The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children Texas Regional Office November 8 th at 8:15 a.m. Independence High School auditorium (Park in back, enter auditorium doors) Digital citizenship. Personal and Internet safety. Cyber bullying. Keeping up with the latest apps and websites and teaching kids how to stay safe online and in the real world is a daunting task, even without the time demands placed on parents and educators. Unfortunately, the most dangerous environment kids are in is the one right on the computers and phones in their own home, and we must do more to keep children safe. The National Center for Missing & Exploited Children Texas Regional Office ( NCMECTX ) is here to help. On Wednesday, November 8 th, NCMECTX will provide a presentation for parents discussing the apps and websites kids are using, how to identify warning signs of kids engaged in risky behavior online, and how to discuss appropriate online behavior with kids. Topics include cyber bullying, sexting, sharing too much information online, online privacy, and abduction prevention.
