Seek immediate medical attention. NOTES TO PHYSICIAN: None 5. FIRE FIGHTING MEASURES FLASH POINT AND METHOD: 53 C (127 F), ASTM D56 FLAMMABLE LIMITS: LEL 0.7, UEL 5.4 @ 77 F (25 C) AUTOIGNITION TEMPERATURE: 689 F (365 C) General Hazard Combustible liquid; can form combustible vapors at temperatures at or above flashpoint. Extinguishing Media Dry chemical, chemical foam, carbon dioxide. Class BC, ABC fire extinguisher. Special Fire Fighting Procedures Self-contained positive pressure breathing apparatus and protective clothing should be worn in fighting fires involving chemicals. Unusual Fire and Explosions Hazards None known. 6. ACCIDENTAL RELEASE MEASURES GENERAL PROCEDURES: Ventilate area of leak or spill for at least 24 hours or until it has been declared safe. Remove all sources of ignition. Stop the leak if there is no risk involved. Clean-up personnel require protective clothing and respiratory protection from vapors. Absorb liquid with inert material. Only specially trained or qualified personnel should handle the emergency. Eliminate sources of ignition. Do not allow to enter drains or waterways. For small spills: Absorb with inert material and dispose of absorbents. Observe government regulations. Page 2 of 6
For large spills, dike affected area and excavate spilled materials and affected media. Observe government regulations. 7. HANDLING AND STORAGE GENERAL PROCEDURES: Keep away from heat, sparks, and flame. Surfaces that are hot may ignite liquid even in the absence of sparks or flame. Extinguish pilot lights, cigarettes, and turn off all other sources of ignition prior to use, and until all vapors are gone. Keep containers tightly closed and upright to prevent leakage. Use proper bonding and/or grounding procedures when transferring materials. Store in original container, preferably in a cool, ventilated, fire-resistant building. Avoid overheating or freezing. Since empty containers may retain product residues (vapor, liquid, or solid) all label precautions must be observed. COMMENTS: KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN! Empty containers retain product residue and can be dangerous. Do not pressurize, cut weld, braze, solder, drill, grind, or expose such containers to heat, flame, sparks static electricity, or other sources of ignition. 8.
